It turns out I'm a second-generation demon.

Chapter 36 Night Visit to the Girls' Dormitory

Outside the girls' dormitory, in a spot out of the surveillance cameras, Li Xianyu, her great-grandmother, and Sanwu sat by the bushes, using the darkness to conceal their figures.

Grandma had a bowl of lean meatballs on her lap, her little mouth glistening with oil from eating. Sanwu sat cross-legged, wearing a gas mask, breathing quietly. Li Xianyu had skewers of grilled meat on his lap—chives, oysters, beef, and pork kidneys—his mouth dripping with oil.

There was also a box of chilled goji berry sweet soup and a bowl of pigeon soup at my feet.

A man at twenty is a semi-finished product, at thirty a finished product, at forty a fine product, at fifty a superior product, and at sixty a waste product.

Li Xianyu, who is only twenty years old this year, has already stepped into the world of scrap metal.

Time passed slowly, and soon the lights in the girls' dormitory were turned off. An hour later, the once chattering girls' dormitory fell silent.

The dormitory building stood out in the darkness, giving off a sense of eerie silence.

Looking around, Li Xianyu saw that the dark windows looked terrifying at this moment, and the clothes that the girls had hung out to dry on the balcony looked like hanging corpses, adding to the eerie atmosphere.

I always feel like there's a female ghost in red hiding among those fluttering clothes, quietly watching you.

He swallowed hard. "Sanwu, you must wait downstairs at the dormitory. Keep your phone on. If I make any noise, you must be there within three seconds."

With a flick of his wrist, a brick appeared in his palm, and he nodded at Li Xianyu.

Li Xianyu looked at his great-grandmother again and said, "My father died early, and I am his only son. Great-grandmother, I am still a child. If something happens to me, my Li family line will end."

Grandma hummed in agreement, patted her grandson's head, and said, "Good people are always blessed. Go on."

"No rush, take some medicine." Li Xianyu took out a capsule and swallowed two: "I'm ready, it's my family's herbal milk, please bless me."

His great-grandmother kicked him in the butt, her eyebrows furrowing: "Don't give me any weird names."

Sanwu grabbed Li Xianyu by the back of the collar and leaped over the outer wall.

Li Xianyu looked toward the dark stairwell, gritted his teeth, steeled his resolve, crouched low, and quickly rushed inside.

Sanwu's ear twitched slightly, catching a barely audible sound. He turned around and saw that his spineless great-grandmother had also climbed over the wall and come in.

There was a faint trace of worry between her brows.

"You're worried about him."

Perhaps because he had never seen such emotions on this spineless great-grandmother's face before, even the taciturn Sanwu couldn't help but speak up.

Grandma rolled her eyes: "Your child may travel a thousand miles, but your mother still worries."

"Then let him go." Sanwu tilted his head, looking bewildered.

"As a successor of the ultimate path, he should be prepared to bear his destiny, and... possess the power to match it." The great-grandmother sighed. "In the past two weeks, he has only practiced Qi three times and only persisted in physical training for three days. He is the most unmotivated and unambitious great-grandson I have ever met. I underestimated this era. While a peaceful and prosperous age has its advantages, it also erodes people's fighting spirit and wolfish nature. Not only him, but most of the people I have met during this period have no fighting spirit and are just drifting through life aimlessly."

"Ordinary people can live mediocre lives, but he can't. Every mediocre successor of the Li family dies an undignified death. Even his father met a tragic end."

Sanwu didn't understand and looked completely bewildered.

Li Xianyu tiptoed up to the sixth floor in one breath, panting and covered in a cold sweat. The dietary supplements he had taken these past few days, as well as the "name is too awesome to be censored" capsules, had indeed worked quite well; his back hadn't hurt for a long time.

The girls' dormitory was quiet. He tiptoed down the dark corridor, occasionally passing by the dormitory door and hearing hushed conversations inside.

But this did not bring Li Xianyu any comfort. On the contrary, the woman's voice sounded particularly eerie in the quiet dormitory building.

He silently recited the Eight Honors and Eight Shames and the core social values, and finally arrived at the public toilet at the end of the corridor.

Standing at the door, Li Xianyu's heart raced, and fear spread through her. Often, what people fear is not the thing itself, but the suggestion they make to themselves.

For example, look into the room. The toilet is dark and silent. It's as if something is watching you from the darkness, waiting for you.

He took out his phone, turned on the built-in flashlight, and the bright light dispelled the darkness, bringing a sense of security.

After scanning the entire restroom and carefully checking each stall door, Li Xianyu breathed a sigh of relief when he found no disheveled woman in blood-stained clothes.

The glass wall in the bathroom reflected the light from his phone. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw his reflection in the mirror. Against a black background, his figure was blurry. Li Xianyu dared not look any longer. According to the tropes of horror movies, if he dared to look, a vengeful ghost would appear behind him in the mirror.

Xu Wei also appeared behind him, but she wouldn't harm herself.

He took out a tissue and wiped the toilet seat, then sat down. After confirming that his phone was still connected, he turned off the flashlight, and the world fell into silence and darkness.

Li Xianyu listened intently to the sounds around him, his eyes fixed on the floor below the cubicle. Whenever someone asked him for toilet paper, he would immediately shout for help into his phone.

About half an hour later, Li Xianyu, whose buttocks were numb from sitting, suddenly heard faint footsteps coming from the corridor outside the toilet.

The footsteps grew louder as they approached, finally stopping at the toilet door.

"Wait a minute, let me turn on the light on my phone," a voice said.

The phone's light illuminated the toilet again.

"This morning, Zhang Ying died by the sink. I saw it; the bathroom floor was covered in dried blood," another voice said.

"Oh dear, stop talking! You scared me to death!"

"Haha, what are you afraid of? You really believe in ghosts?"

Li Xianyu breathed a sigh of relief; it was just two girls getting up to use the restroom at night. It was a false alarm.

He glanced at his phone; it was 23:50 PM, not far from midnight. If the vengeful ghost came out at this hour, it would easily kill him.

Thinking about it this way, he became nervous again.

"Hey, I suddenly need to poop, can you wait for me?"

"No way, I want to go back to sleep."

"Please, I'm too scared to go alone."

"Ugh, so annoying. What's there to be afraid of? There are so many people in our dorm building, even if there were ghosts, they wouldn't dare come."

"You don't know, this toilet used to be haunted. There are posts about it on the school forum... Hey, why aren't you saying anything?" After a while, no one responded, so she asked curiously.

"Waaaaah..."

A heart-wrenching cry echoed in the silent toilet.

A girl screamed from the cubicle.

"Hahaha, you were scared to death, weren't you?"

The girl who was imitating ghostly wailing couldn't hold back her laughter.

"Ugh, you're so annoying," another girl said, her voice trembling with tears.

"Alright, alright, hurry up and poop, you're not constipated, are you?"

Li Xianyu, who was terrified, twitched at the corner of his mouth. "Damn it, you guys really know how to play."

The phone showed 23:54, just six minutes before midnight.

Li Xianyu was getting anxious. After midnight, the vengeful ghost summoned by the spirit medium was likely to appear. Li Xianyu would have a hard time protecting himself, let alone taking care of the two girls.

We need to find a way to get them to leave.

A brilliant idea struck me!

Li Xianyu pinched her throat and let out a high-pitched sob: "Waaah..."

"You're still here? Can't you let someone take a dump in peace?"

"This time it wasn't me..." another voice replied, trembling.

Then, the air suddenly became quiet.

The next second, the sound of ping-pong balls came from the next stall, along with the dull thud of flesh hitting the tiles. It seemed that someone had fallen while rushing out of the toilet, but instead of crying, they scrambled out.

I reckon there will be another paranormal post on the campus forum tomorrow.

"It seems she didn't wipe her butt..." Li Xianyu muttered to himself. The feeling of having poop on your crotch was unpleasant, something he had experienced before.

"Moreover, she probably wouldn't dare go back to the bathroom to clean herself. She might even go to the bathroom downstairs."

She will have a flavorful night; may the goddess of night protect you.

Li Xianyu thought to himself.
