Douluo Dragon King: Martial Soul Bow, I pierce the abyss with a single arrow!
Chapter 9 Na'er
"call out!"
The sound of air tearing apart.
The bowstring twanged, and a dark arrow shot out, heading straight for the face of the leader of the thugs.
puff.
With a soft thud, the black arrow pierced the thug's left shoulder with pinpoint accuracy, its momentum undiminished as it continued to penetrate deep inside.
"ah!!"
A piercing scream shattered the tranquility of the alley.
The remaining young men were terrified by this sudden turn of events. They looked at their companions in horror, then turned sharply to look in the direction from which the arrows had come.
"Who?!"
"Who's so blind...?"
The angry shouting stopped abruptly.
All they saw was a small, thin child holding a golden longbow that was completely disproportionate to his size, with a dazzling yellow halo slowly pulsating beneath his feet.
Soul Master!
These two words instilled in them a deeper fear.
"run!"
Someone shouted, and the remaining people scattered like birds and beasts, fleeing for their lives in different directions.
Lu Ze's lips curled into a cold smile.
Run? Can you even escape?
Human traffickers are creatures born that deserve to die no matter what.
He drew back the bowstring once more, and this time, the light from the century-old soul ring beneath his feet shone even brighter.
"film."
Lu Ze murmured softly.
call out!
Another beam of black light shot out, but just as it left the bowstring, it suddenly split in two in mid-air!
An arrow shot straight at a fleeing thug, piercing his ankle with incredible speed.
The man screamed, lost his balance, and crashed face-first to the ground, landing in a truly pathetic state.
The other arrow, however, drew an extremely absurd and outrageous arc, completely deviating from the direction of either of the thugs, and flew towards the other side of the street, to a corner that no one paid attention to.
There, a boy who looked just as young, with black hair and black eyes, stared wide-eyed at everything that was happening.
Seeing the arrow flying towards him, the boy closed his eyes in terror.
The arrow shattered the moment it touched the boy.
Seeing this, Lu Ze didn't care at all and didn't stop what he was doing.
Draw the bow, release the string.
Draw the bow, release the string.
call out!call out!
Several more streaks of black light flashed, and the other two thugs who were trying to escape also fell to the ground, groaning in pain.
The whole process took only a few seconds.
None of the four thugs escaped unscathed; all of them were rendered incapacitated.
The street fell silent again, save for the suppressed groans of a few people.
Lu Ze breathed a sigh of relief, letting the Sun-Shooting Bow in his hand dissipate into specks of golden light.
The first practical application went quite well.
With the amplification from the Shadow Serpent's possession, coupled with his archery skills honed through countless trials in his previous life, dealing with a few low-level thugs was like a game-changer.
Lu Ze stepped forward and dialed the sheriff's number.
Just after hanging up the phone, Lu Ze felt his clothes being tugged.
Lu Ze lowered his head and met a pair of clear, yet frightened, purple eyes.
The silver-haired little girl had stood up at some point. Her small body was still trembling slightly, but she mustered her courage and tightly gripped Lu Ze's clothes with her dirty little hands, as if it were her only lifeline.
Her face was covered in dust, but her purple eyes were spotless, reflecting Lu Ze's small figure.
Lu Ze's heart softened for no apparent reason.
Is this Na'er? She really is as pitiful as I am.
The old man's soul within Lu Ze's body was activated, inevitably giving rise to a trace of affection.
He reached out and gently ruffled the girl's slightly messy silver hair, soothing her with a soft voice.
"Don't be afraid, it's all over now."
His movements seemed to possess a certain magic; the girl's trembling body gradually calmed down. She didn't speak, but her grip on his clothes tightened a little more.
Lu Ze smiled helplessly, not caring. He took the little "accessory" in his hand and turned to walk to the other side of the street.
The boy he had "accidentally injured" was still standing there, clearly not yet recovered from the shock.
Lu Ze walked up to him, gave him a slightly embarrassed smile, and even scratched his head in a cooperative manner.
"Um... are you alright?"
The boy snapped out of his daze, looked at the Soul Master in front of him who was about the same age as him but incredibly powerful, and subconsciously shook his head.
"I...I'm fine."
"That's good. Oh, I'm really sorry about that. I've only just become a Soul Master, and I'm not very skilled at using Soul Skills yet. I was too scared just now, and I accidentally used the Soul Skill's effect."
"But that arrow was just to scare you, it wouldn't hurt you. You weren't scared, were you?"
Lu Ze's tone was extremely earnest.
The boy, seeing Lu Ze's sincere apology and recalling the arrow that had just vanished, immediately believed him.
After all, who would doubt a cute six-year-old child?
"It's alright, you were trying to save someone too." The boy waved his hand, looking at Lu Ze with some admiration. "You're amazing, a Soul Master at such a young age."
"Um……"
"Wei Long, Wei Lang, Wei Long, Wei Lang..." The sound of a car horn broke their conversation.
A soul-guided car roared up and stopped in front of Lu Ze.
Two women in uniforms came down from above, each carrying a dark, soul-guided gun.
After the two sheriffs quickly arrested the thugs who had fallen to the ground, they finally turned their attention to Lu Ze and his two companions.
"Little friend, did you report the incident?" Her voice was unexpectedly gentle, a stark contrast to her previous coldness.
"Yes, sister." Lu Ze looked up, revealing a docile yet slightly frightened expression. "They wanted to bully this little sister."
As he spoke, he gently patted the soft little hand that was clutching the hem of his clothes.
This younger sister?
Upon hearing this, the sheriff said, "Isn't this your sister? Then come with us to the police station later, and we'll help you find her relatives."
Lu Ze opened his mouth to speak, but felt the small hand on the hem of his clothes gripping even tighter.
He turned around.
Na'er's body trembled slightly, her small face scrunched up, and her beautiful purple eyes quickly filled with tears, glistening as she looked at Lu Ze with teary eyes. She kept shaking her head.
Like a poor kitten about to be abandoned.
Lu Ze gently stroked Na'er's head and spoke.
"No, this is my sister."
The little girl in his arms stopped crying. She raised her tear-streaked face and stared at Lu Ze with her large, water-washed purple eyes.
The black-haired boy not far away also stared wide-eyed.
younger sister?
I don't recognize those two at all! What is this powerful Soul Master boy saying?
The two female sheriffs exchanged a glance, assuming it was just a sibling quarrel.
The female sheriff in charge shook her head helplessly. Kids these days are really getting more and more impressive. However, for a six-year-old Soul Master to dare face four adults to protect her younger sister—that courage and strength are truly astonishing.
"Hmm. Take these guys back and use them to intimidate and lure minors; they'll be in big trouble."
Lu Ze stopped in his tracks. "Sister, what they're doing is clearly child trafficking."
The sheriff shook his head helplessly. "We don't have any concrete evidence, and your sister hasn't been abducted yet, so it's difficult to determine legally."
After speaking, the female sheriff got into the car, and the soul-guided vehicle gradually disappeared from Lu Ze's sight.
Lu Ze frowned. Deception was nothing to him.
Let those born continue to live? That's not a good idea.
Then, he turned his head and looked at Na'er, who had been following him closely.
The little girl remained silent, but her large purple eyes stared at him unblinkingly, filled not only with dependence but also with a hint of curiosity.
Lu Ze smiled at her and extended his hand.
"Let's go."
He spoke.
"I'll take you home."
