Chapter 11 The Cameraman

Li Zhenhua stared at the disconnected phone, lost in thought.

Liu Xiaodong pulled out a number from his phone and dialed it.

The sheer joy in Liu Xiaodong's mind made him forget the pain of being woken up, and his call was finally answered at the last moment.

"Brother Guo, let me tell you something. Didn't you want to try your hand at that sword forging competition before?"

I found you a good blacksmith. He wanted to participate in this, and I finally persuaded him to agree after much pleading.

Where are you now? I'll come pick you up. We'll go straight to his place in a bit. Just so you know, this guy is very knowledgeable in materials science.

Liu Xiaodong told the story as soon as the call connected, and even praised Li Zhenhua as someone who had made great achievements in materials.

The person who answered Liu Xiaodong's call didn't even have time to speak before Liu Xiaodong rattled off a string of words.

He was initially very angry, but after hearing what Liu Xiaodong said, he forgot how upset he was about being disturbed from his sleep.

"Mr. Liu, is the person you mentioned far from our county? Let me make this clear first, I haven't been restricted in my movements."

As long as we stay within the county, everything is fine. But if we go to other counties, then we'll have to settle the matter of you disturbing my sleep.

The person who was woken up by Liu Xiaodong temporarily suppressed his anger because of what he said.

However, if Liu Xiaodong does not give him a satisfactory answer, it will probably have some impact on Liu Xiaodong's business.

"Brother Guo, let me tell you, this guy is my childhood friend. He lives in a town under the county, and his family's blacksmith shop has been around for many years."

I used to play there a lot when I was little. I even heard back then that their family used to be a prominent artisan family during the Ming Dynasty.

Liu Xiaodong introduced Li Zhenhua's specific information to the person on the phone, and the person on the other end of the line became more and more excited as they listened.

He then thought of the rich second-generation heir he had met in Jinling, at the Armored Fighting Club, whose family was as wealthy as his.

The look on his face when he showed off a knife made by the third-place master forger in the knife-forging competition.

"Hmph, I won't bother with you this time. Didn't you hire the third-place master craftsman to forge your knives?"

This time, Grandpa's going to make something even more advanced than yours. I'll build it myself, and I'll even be participating in a sword-forging competition. Let's see how you'll show off in front of me then.

This rich second-generation man surnamed Guo connected Liu Xiaodong's words with the plot of his own show-off in Dalian.

"Brother Guo, are you still listening? Do you want to go? If not, I'm telling my friend, he's also urgently looking for someone to go and help."

When Liu Xiaodong heard that there was no response from the other end of the phone again, he urged the rich second-generation to hurry up.

"Why are you in such a hurry to find someone? Is there something wrong?" The rich second-generation was not disturbed by Liu Xiaodong's urging. Instead, he grasped the key point and asked Liu Xiaodong.

"Oh, this? Isn't he going to participate in a sword-forging competition? He's short of an assistant to record the whole process, so I called Brother Guo to see if you're interested."

After listening to Liu Xiaodong's explanation, the man understood why he had received the call; it turned out they were short of a cameraman.

He's a professional photographer, and he immediately thought of all the equipment he'd bought for his photography hobby. They say photography can bankrupt three generations, and if he hadn't come from a wealthy family, he would have been one of those three generations of poor people.

"Brother Liu, where are you? I'm coming to find you right now. I'm really interested in this. Let me tell you, I'm the perfect cameraman." The rich second-generation said eagerly to Liu Xiaodong.

His previous morning grumpiness vanished at this moment, and he no longer cared about it.

While on the phone, he was also getting dressed, grabbed the motorcycle keys from the table, and ran out of the house.

The tall man, over 1.8 meters tall, stepped out of the room, mounted a small bicycle (made by a small company), and rode towards the place Liu Xiaodong had told him about.

The sight of such a huge figure riding a malformed little motorcycle was incredibly comical.

You'd think a rich kid like him wouldn't be allowed to ride such a small motorcycle; he should at least be riding a 250cc motorcycle. But his dad restricted him from riding motorcycles, and this small motorcycle was a compromise his dad made for him.

Just as this person was heading towards Liu Xiaodong, Liu Xiaodong dialed Li Zhenhua's number again.

"Brother Hua, I've found you a cameraman. I don't know how good his skills are, but I know he's definitely a gearhead. We'll meet up in a bit, and then we'll come find you."

When Liu Xiaodong called, Li Zhenhua could roughly guess who Liu Xiaodong was probably looking for, based on what he said.

"Fatty, let me make this clear: if this guy isn't good enough, I'll replace him. Even if he can't be a cameraman, I'll keep him here so it won't be too difficult for you."

Li Zhenhua was afraid of delaying his own affairs, so he gave Liu Xiaodong instructions in advance.

"Brother Hua, don't worry, you're in charge of everything. I'll hang up now, I think I heard someone coming." Liu Xiaodong said simply, and then the phone was disconnected.

Listening to the busy tone on the phone, Li Zhenhua felt that nothing was reliable.

Meanwhile, Liu Xiaodong, after hanging up Li Zhenhua's call, got up to wash and prepare for the day, worried that the other party might arrive before he was even out of bed.

Just as Liu Xiaodong finished wiping his face, his phone rang. He picked it up and saw that it displayed Guo Shugui, a very rustic name.

"Brother Guo? You've arrived? Okay, I'll be right down." With that, Liu Xiaodong hung up the phone and cautiously left his house.

When he got downstairs, he saw a light on. When he got closer, he suddenly felt like his worldview had been turned upside down.

Liu Xiaodong, who was already quite familiar with Guo Shugui, circled around him earnestly several times.

Only then did he speak to Guo Shugui, saying, "Young Master Guo, what's with your outfit?"

After saying that, Liu Xiaodong stroked the front of the little motorcycle, looking at him with a sympathetic expression. "You've had a tough time, kid."

"If you keep mocking me, watch out, your business might be outsourced. If you hadn't called so early, I wouldn't have had to ride my little monkey to find you."

Guo Shugui said to Liu Xiaodong with an indignant expression, his face slightly embarrassed.

"How did you, the son of one of the nation's top real estate tycoons, end up in such a sorry state?"

"My dad said I can't ride a bike when I go out, I can only take a car, and he won't let me drive myself. I had to beg and plead with him to let me have this little monkey."

Guo Shugui reluctantly explained his reasons to Liu Xiaodong, without showing any embarrassment.

"You're really pitiful. They won't even let you drive. How did you become a top-tier rich kid? Look at how the principal lives."

"Stop with that, just bring your car out," Guo Shugui said to Liu Xiaodong, but the fat man Liu Xiaodong just wouldn't move.

"Forget about my car. I drank yesterday and can't drive now. Why don't you drive it? Here are the keys."

As Liu Xiaodong spoke, he handed the car keys to Guo Shugui, but Guo did not take them.

"I wouldn't dare drive. If I did, my dad would be in the county by this afternoon and break my legs."
