Rebirth of the Hong Kong Millennium Conglomerate
Chapter 65 Arrival in Hong Kong
Chapter 65 Returning to Hong Kong
Silver wings pierced the sky as a flight from Singapore smoothly traversed above the clouds.
Outside the porthole, the night had not yet completely faded, and a faint tinge of dawn was already appearing on the horizon, blurring the outline of Hong Kong in a hazy yet magnificent way.
When the captain's calm voice came over the loudspeaker announcing that the plane was about to land at Kai Tak International Airport, the passengers in the cabin instinctively craned their necks and turned their gaze to the gradually clearing land outside the window.
The lights of Kai Tak Airport at this moment resemble a scattered galaxy, spreading out a dazzling sea of light across the ground.
As one of the busiest air hubs in Hong Kong and even the whole of Southeast Asia, it welcomes and sends off flights from all over the world day and night.
One after another, the huge passenger planes swooped down, their landing gear scraping against the runway, creating brief sparks, and the roar of engines echoed in the air.
Even in the dead of night, the airport was bustling with activity, forklifts carrying cargo shuttled back and forth, and ground staff worked busily and in an orderly fashion.
The plane landed smoothly and taxied for a moment before coming to a stop at the designated position. The cabin door opened, and a slightly damp sea breeze rushed in.
Zhang Zeyang stood up, straightened his clothes, and turned to look at Mr. Melis beside him, saying, "Mr. Melis, we've arrived in Hong Kong."
Myris nodded, his gaze already passing over the crowd and landing on the silhouette of the tall buildings that were faintly visible outside the airport.
The two followed the flow of people out of the terminal. Just as they reached the exit, a familiar figure quickly came to greet them.
The butler, Li Fu, was dressed in a sharp black suit, his hair was neatly combed, and he had a respectful smile on his face.
He was followed by several tall and imposing bodyguards, who were vigilantly watching the surroundings.
"Sir." Li Fu walked quickly to Zhang Zeyang, bowed slightly, and then turned to Mylis, nodding politely. "Mr. Mylis, you must be tired from your journey."
Zhang Zeyang nodded slightly, his tone casual: "Li Fu, are you all ready?"
"Everything is arranged, sir." Li Fu responded, stepping aside to gesture for them to get in. "The car is outside. Please, Mr. Myris, get in and rest."
Zhang Zeyang said no more and got into the Rolls-Royce in the front with Mylis. The bodyguards stood silently by the car, and after the two were settled, they got into another car and drove away from Kai Tak Airport one after the other.
The car smoothly entered the city. Outside the window, the wide roads were bustling with traffic, and all kinds of cars shuttled back and forth. The tall buildings on both sides of the road stood side by side.
Myris rested his elbow on the car window, surveying the city. He had lived in Singapore for over a decade and was long accustomed to its year-round humid climate and relatively relaxed pace of life.
But the Hong Kong before my eyes, with its towering skyscrapers, bustling crowds, and dazzling array of shop signs, all speak of the city's heyday.
"Compared to Singapore, Hong Kong is indeed much more prosperous," Myris couldn't help but remark, his tone tinged with admiration. "There are even more skyscrapers here than in Singapore!"
Zhang Zeyang leaned back in his chair and chuckled softly upon hearing this: "Hong Kong is the financial center of the Far East, so it's naturally different."
Mylis nodded, a relieved smile on his face. As if remembering something, he turned to look at Zhang Zeyang, his tone gentle: "Boss, you don't know, but these past few years, my wife has been talking about coming to Hong Kong every day."
Zhang Zeyang raised an eyebrow and asked with interest, "Oh? You like the hustle and bustle of Hong Kong?"
"It's not just about prosperity." Myris smiled, a hint of warmth flashing in his eyes. "You know Singapore's climate; it's hot and humid all year round, with lots of rain. Staying there for too long always feels stifling."
My wife and children have had enough of that sticky feeling. Besides, there are quite a few white people in Hong Kong, so they'll adapt to life here more quickly.
He paused, a hint of emotion in his voice: "Actually, they've wanted to come to Hong Kong for a long time, but I always felt the time wasn't right, so I kept putting it off. It wasn't until I met you, boss, that I finally made up my mind."
Zhang Zeyang patted Myris on the shoulder and said sincerely, "Mr. Myris, once you've settled into Qian Gu Group and become familiar with the business here, bring your wife and children over. The education and living environment in Hong Kong will not disappoint them."
Mylis's eyes lit up, and he nodded emphatically, his tone full of anticipation: "Definitely. This time, we can finally fulfill their wishes."
The two chatted as the car sped along, leaving the bustling East Kowloon and entering the Red Tunnel.
The tunnel was brightly lit, and as cars drove by, they created a slight rustling sound.
A few minutes later, the car drove out of the tunnel, and the scenery suddenly changed; we had arrived at Causeway Bay.
Causeway Bay was still bustling with activity. However, Zhang Zeyang's car did not stop, but drove straight through this prosperous commercial area towards Repulse Bay.
Finally, the car stopped in front of a sprawling villa. The wrought iron gate slowly opened, revealing the courtyard: a neatly trimmed lawn, a gently flowing fountain, and several tall palm trees swaying gently in the wind.
It was already past 1 a.m.
The entire villa was quiet, with only a few corridor lights on, emitting a soft glow.
However, as soon as the car engine started running, the villa gate was gently pushed open, and several neatly dressed maids quickly came to greet them.
They had clearly been waiting for Zhang Zeyang's return, and when the car stopped, they immediately went forward and opened the car door.
"Sir, you're back," the head maid said softly, her eyes full of respect.
Zhang Zeyang nodded in response, "Thank you for your hard work."
He turned to look at Mr. Mylis beside him, then instructed Li Fu, "Li Fu, take Mr. Mylis to the guest room and settle him in. Prepare his toiletries. I'm a little tired, so I'll rest after I've washed up."
"Yes, sir," Li Fu replied, then gestured to Mr. Myris, "Mr. Myris, please come with me."
Mylis thanked him and followed Li Fu into the villa.
Li Fu led him to a spacious and bright guest room, opened the door and said with a smile, "Mr. Mylis, you'll be staying here tonight. The room is fully equipped; please feel free to call me if you need anything."
Miles entered the room and saw that it was exquisitely furnished, the bedding on the bed was neatly made, and brand-new toiletries were already laid out in the bathroom. He smiled and said, "Thank you, Butler Li."
"You're too kind. It's what I should do." Li Fu bowed slightly, then turned and left, gently closing the door behind him.
After a quick wash, Mylis lay down on the soft bed. Exhausted from a long day, he fell into a deep sleep soon after closing his eyes.
The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, Mylis woke up.
He arrived late last night and only vaguely remembered that the villa was very large, but he didn't have time to take a closer look.
As I pushed open the door, the morning light streamed in through the floor-to-ceiling windows, illuminating the entire room.
He walked to the window, opened it, and a fresh sea breeze rushed in, carrying the fragrance of flowers and plants.
Only then did he realize that he was in a villa on a hillside.
Standing by the window, you can overlook the shimmering Repulse Bay in the distance, where the azure sea merges seamlessly with the sky, creating a breathtaking view.
In the villa's courtyard, the lawn was lush and green, and several unidentified flowering trees were in full bloom, with butterflies fluttering among the flowers.
Mylis took a deep breath of the fresh air and felt refreshed.
He walked into the courtyard, leaned against the railing, and quietly gazed at the distant sea view.
Just then, he heard footsteps behind him. He turned around and saw Zhang Zeyang walking slowly towards him, dressed in casual clothes.
"Mr. Mylis, how did you sleep last night?" Zhang Zeyang asked with a smile, his tone relaxed.
Mylis turned around, a genuine smile on his face: "Boss, the weather in Hong Kong is much more comfortable than in Singapore."
That's true. At this time of year, the daytime temperature in Hong Kong is around 20 degrees Celsius, neither too hot nor too cold. A gentle breeze carries a faint smell of the sea, making one feel completely comfortable.
Singapore is hot and humid year-round, with temperatures often exceeding 30 degrees Celsius, and the muggy weather always makes people feel irritable and restless.
For white people who are sensitive to heat, Hong Kong's climate is undoubtedly ideal.
Zhang Zeyang walked to his side and together they leaned on the railing, looking out at the distant sea view.
Before we knew it, it was already 7:30 in the morning.
A sumptuous breakfast was already laid out in the villa's dining room. Golden-brown bread, fragrant coffee, tender fried eggs, and a variety of exquisite pastries made one's mouth water.
When Zhang Zeyang accompanied Mylis into the restaurant, a little girl with a ponytail was sitting at the table, holding a slice of toast and eating it with relish.
Seeing Zhang Zeyang enter, the little girl's eyes immediately lit up. She put down the food she was holding and skipped over, her clear voice ringing out like a silver bell: "Brother! You're back!"
Zhang Lingyun is only five years old, but her eyes are bright and lively, and her face is full of childlike innocence.
Because she hadn't seen her brother for three or four days, she was exceptionally excited, tugging at Zhang Zeyang's clothes and chattering incessantly.
"Brother, while you were away, Butler Li bought me a new fairy tale book, it's so good!"
"And also, yesterday the school organized a trip to the zoo, and I saw dolphins! They were so cute!"
"By the way, brother, did you bring me any gifts this time you went out?"
Zhang Zeyang listened patiently, nodding occasionally in agreement, his eyes full of doting affection.
Breakfast ended amidst laughter and cheerful conversation. After finishing, Zhang Zeyang called over the security personnel and asked them to take Zhang Lingyun to school. The little girl waved goodbye to her brother reluctantly before skipping and hopping into the car.
After the car drove away, Zhang Zeyang turned to look at Mylis, his expression gradually becoming serious: "Mr. Mylis, have you rested enough? Come on, I'll take you to the headquarters of Qian Gu Group."
