Lord: I have a Mount & Blade panel.

Chapter 19 Weapon Procurement

The Mount & Blade interface in reality is different from that in the game. In the game, upgrading a unit costs denars and it will automatically be equipped with gear. However, in reality, there are two types of upgrades: the first is to spend a low amount of money to upgrade the unit itself, and the second is to spend a lot of money to upgrade the unit and it will automatically be equipped with system gear.

But after careful examination, Richard discovered that if he went directly to the weapon shop to buy the same equipment, it would be almost half the price of the equipment that came with the system.

Richard wasn't sure if this huge price difference would result in significant differences between the two types of equipment.

However, for now, the most cost-effective way is to equip these panda warriors with suitable gear from the weapon shop.

We'll consider the system equipment after we've earned enough money.

In short, right now it all boils down to one word—poor!

Once we escape to a safe place, our primary goal will be to make money.

In fact, Richard had already gathered information as soon as he received the five thousand gold coins.

They led the rest of their men into a weapon shop called "Longbeard Hammer".

The name is distinctly dwarven. Everyone on the continent of Assassin knows that dwarves are exceptionally skilled at crafting weapons and equipment. Choosing such a name either means they want to bask in the glory of dwarven blacksmiths, or it's a genuine dwarven shop.

Clearly, this weapons shop is the latter.

Upon entering, you can see a dozen or so short, stocky dwarves wielding iron hammers in the backyard of the weapon shop, while several minotaur apprentices are huffing and puffing as they pull the bellows.

This weapon shop is four stories high, and its width alone takes up seven or eight people's space. Even when hundreds of people rush in, it still feels spacious.

Although humans, dwarves, elves, and behemoths fought tooth and nail in the Un'Goro Wasteland a thousand years ago, it did not prevent them from exchanging goods and engaging in trade.

The only races explicitly prohibited from entering the territories of major powers are goblins, harpies, ogres, and other evil creatures.

Behind the counter, an old dwarf with a beard that almost reached his navel was standing on a specially made high stool, holding an oilcloth in his hand, carefully wiping a two-handed battle axe.

The axe blade was so wide it could be used as an anvil, and the exquisitely engraved patterns on it still retained the dark blue luster from the quenching process.

Just by looking at its appearance, you can tell it's a high-end product.

The old dwarf didn't even look up, and gruffly said, "Big guys, feel free to look around, but whatever you do, don't touch anything in the display cases. If you break anything, you won't be able to pay for it even if you sell yourselves."

Richard hates pretentious people and those who prevent him from being pretentious.

With over five thousand gold coins in his pocket, he felt like the coolest person in the world at that moment.

He wanted to see what kind of thing he couldn't afford to pay for if it broke!

Squeezing in from behind the panda warriors, he walked up to the display case with a smile on his face. Just as he was about to reach out and take out an exquisite one-handed sword inlaid with a large cat's-eye sapphire, he glanced at the price and his hand froze instantly.

Six thousand gold coins, no bargaining.

His Highness was filled with regret and wanted to stop, but with hundreds of people looking at him with admiration, he couldn't bring himself to do it.

Richard picked up the sword, glanced at it, and then put it back in its place with a look of disgust.

"I must say the dwarves' craftsmanship is indeed uniquely ingenious, but compared to the Zenith Sword, it's utterly insignificant. Do you know the value of combining ten great swords—the Wrath of the Mad Star, the Blade of Eternal Night...—into one? Do you know the orogenic bronze anvil needed to forge this legendary sword?"

His Highness began to forcefully put on airs.

The panda warriors looked bewildered, while Sylvie seemed to be deep in thought.

It cannot be denied that the names of the swords Richard mentioned were very tacky, but the dwarves had never heard of any of them.

Logically, the more powerful a weapon is, the more famous it should be; it shouldn't be so obscure.

"United as one... I've never heard of such a technique..." The old dwarf seemed thoughtful. "Esteemed guest, where is this legendary sword you speak of now?"

Richard's expression stiffened slightly. He was just talking nonsense; the only way to obtain this weapon was to go to a certain Terran world.

"The reason why a legendary sword is a legendary sword is naturally because it is in a place that ordinary people cannot access." If Richard felt embarrassed, he wouldn't be Richard. He waved his hand, as if to say that it wasn't that he looked down on Richard, but that the topic was too high-level for Richard to participate in.

"Alright." The old dwarf was somewhat disappointed, but didn't dwell on it, and instead asked, "Honorable guest, what weapons would you like to buy for your followers?"

If the people in front of him were just a group of poorly clothed Behemoth beggars, then the old dwarf would naturally ignore them.

But Richard's appearance dispelled all his doubts.

The other person's attire, extremely imposing demeanor, and elegant and sophisticated speech all testified to their extraordinary status.

Richard's gaze swept over the shelves on the first floor.

The walls were covered with all kinds of weapons, from the most common iron swords and hand axes to armor-piercing spikes and spiked hammers with blood grooves, arranged in several dense rows.

Bundles of arrows and crossbow bolts were piled on the lower shelf, and next to them were stacks of shields, including round shields made of wood and iron, as well as heavy tower shields made entirely of metal.

On the armor rack in the corner, chainmail, plate armor, and leather-trimmed armor were all available.

"What weapons do you usually use most?" Richard asked the panda warriors.

"Sir, we often use harpoons to fish at sea, and occasionally we use axes or something, but for us, the most useful thing is still our own hands, so any weapon is the same for us Panda Warriors," Sid said with a hint of pride.

Every panda warrior is a master of martial arts; any weapon in their hands will soon demonstrate its true power.

This is a talent etched into the blood of the Panta people.

Richard took off his white gloves and placed them on the front desk, then lightly snapped his fingers: "See? About a hundred men, fully equipped from head to toe. Their weapons should be steel javelins, spears, and swords. For armor, start with chainmail or leather armor. For helmets, just ordinary round helmets. Also, each person should be equipped with an iron shield, a medium-sized round shield will do."

"Remember, don't try to fool me with inferior goods."

"Respected guest, such a thing wouldn't happen in a dwarf's shop," the old dwarf said in a low voice, glancing at Richard.

Then he yelled at the top of his lungs toward the backyard, "Barrow! Stop fucking pumping the bellows! Bring out all those fine iron longswords from the warehouse! And the iron-plated leather armor on shelf number three, and the helmets in shelf number two! Take your men and get moving!"

A flurry of activity came from the backyard, followed by several minotaur apprentices running into the warehouse, led by a bald young dwarf.
