America, starting as a trainee police officer

Hawke didn't open the door like a brute.

Instead, it slowly opened a crack, wanting to test the waters.

But the side that was open was facing Li Wei.

Seeing the opportunity, Li Wei reached out and grasped Hawke's wrist.

Including the points I've gradually added to myself before.

His strength has now reached 73 points.

If Hawke's power were quantified, it would be between 58 and 60.

This resulted in Hawke being pulled to the parking lot by Levi, like a kite that had lost its string.

And because he lost his balance, he tumbled several times on the ground.

"Hawk! You're under arrest! Don't resist!"

In a rare move, Levi reminded Hawke before the arrest that he genuinely didn't want to do anything to Hawke.

From a personal perspective, he even felt that Hawke hadn't done anything wrong.

But the system's rewards are so tempting, there's no reason not to take them.

Don't even think about it!

Hawke is a tough guy; even when he was hurt, he still fought back.

He reached for his waist, trying to draw his gun.

But his reaction speed was not as fast as Li Wei's. When he had only half drawn his gun out, Li Wei quickly removed the magazine for him.

He pulled the trigger, firing the loaded bullet onto the concrete ground.

Not far away, Superintendent Gray and Tim were searching for Hawke.

After receiving several false alarms, Gray had no choice but to send police officers to handle them.

But he, Tim, Nolan, Bishop, and Lucy stayed behind to continue searching the mall.

boom!

A gunshot rang out!

"It's Hawke!" Nolan shouted, rushing forward first.

Others followed suit.

When they arrived near the sound of gunfire, they saw Levi pinning Hawke to the ground with one hand.

With his other hand, he was putting handcuffs on Hawke.

Mission Completed: Arrest Jeremy Hawke. Reward: Skill Conversion Scroll x1

...

"Well done, rookie, you've done a great job." In the police car, Lopez patted Levi on the shoulder with a happy expression.

"Did you see Gray's expression just now? I think you can end your internship early."

"real?"

Li Wei raised an eyebrow; this was good news.

"Highly likely, given your previous outstanding performance, and the fact that Hawke's case has attracted widespread attention, as the officer who arrested Hawke, your contribution will be considerable."

"Of course, you'll have to take the exam, but judging from your score on the last quiz, you shouldn't have any problem passing the internship exam."

"That means we'll have to wait a few months to take the exam with Nolan and the others."

Hearing this, Li Wei shrugged.

I thought he was going to be promoted to a permanent position right away.

Upon hearing this, Lopez rolled her eyes: "What are you thinking? There's no such thing as a free lunch. Unless you're the president's son, don't even think about it."

"She's right. To make it in LAPD, ability alone isn't enough. I'm a perfect example of that."

Hawke, sitting in the back seat, chimed in.

Li Wei turned around and glanced at him.

Indeed, Hawke is one of the most capable officers, but he has never risen through the ranks, never even making it into the police force's management. He does, however, have a plethora of honors.

It seems that if I want to climb the ladder, relying solely on methods on paper is not enough.

...

On the way back to the police station.

Li Wei didn't think too much about what would happen next.

It's not too late to think about everything after he's officially hired.

His focus at that moment was on the system.

"System, use the skill conversion scroll!"

[Skills that can be converted: English, Chinese, Mathematics, Cooking, Laziness...]

A dense array of life skills and previously learned knowledge appeared on Li Wei's retina.

"Tsk, they have a pretty comprehensive skill set, but none of them are what I want."

"System, suspend the use of the skill conversion scroll."

After silently chanting, the array of skills in front of me disappeared.

Li Wei stroked his chin, wondering how he could learn to take away the $1 of Paige's dirty money from her drug trafficking from the Gallagher family without anyone noticing.

For example, skills like [stealth] and [lock picking].

His first thought was of Steve, Fiona's number one simp.

I wonder how this guy is doing in the detention cell.

At this moment, the car slowly came to a stop.

"Rookie, go and take Hawke away. This honor belongs to you."

Upon hearing this, Li Wei nodded and looked out the car window, where he saw two big shots standing there: Police Inspector Zoe Anderson and Percy West, the head of the Internal Affairs Department.

It was clearly a welcome back for the hero.

After getting out of the car, Li Wei went to the back seat and helped Hawke out.

As he led Hawke inside, Zoe led the applause.

The other police officers nearby also applauded.

"Congratulations, Officer Li! Well done!"

A completely unharmed Jeremy Hawke. This is a major victory for the police department.

Zoe finally released the emotions she had been suppressing all day.

She had a big smile on her face at that moment.

"Alright, leave the rest to me." Dealing with police officers who commit crimes like Hawke falls under the purview of the Internal Affairs Department.

After handing the man over to the police from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Zoe patted Levi on the shoulder: "Come to my office."

...

Zoe's office.

A 28-year-old woman was sitting in a chair.

She was wearing a black suit jacket over a burgundy silk shirt.

She was wearing a black bodycon skirt and black stockings.

She has medium-length black hair.

She held a pen in her hand, her fingers constantly moving, the pen spinning rapidly between her fingers.

"Agent Dawson, this is Officer V. Lee, who arrested Jimmy Leishman."

Zoe led Levi inside.

"This is Veronica Dawson, an FBI agent. She's in charge of the task force targeting Raymond Calitley."

"Hello, Agent Dawson," Levi greeted.

Veronica didn't speak. She put down her pen, stood up, crossed her arms, and walked to stand in front of Levi.

They stopped when they were less than 20 centimeters apart.

Li Wei could even smell her perfume at that moment.

She looked the young police officer up and down.

She had just looked through his resume, and he seemed like a born policeman. From his internship onwards, apart from a minor disagreement with his first TO, he acted like a standard robot.

Never makes a mistake.

Even the disagreement with the first TO was a problem on TO's side, not on Li Wei's own.

This made Veronica very interested in Levi even before they met.

"Hello, Officer Li." Veronica sized her up for almost twenty seconds.

For those twenty seconds, Li Wei stared into her eyes without flinching.

This made Veronica's lips curl up slightly, finding Levi even more interesting.

Seeing the atmosphere between the two gradually becoming strange, Zoe quickly interrupted, "Lee, I'm now assigning you to join Agent Dawson's task force to help them crack a transnational smuggling case involving Raymond Calitley."

After saying that, Zoe looked at Dawson: "Agent Dawson, the man is in your hands now. Remember to return him on time."
