After the four houses united, all the teachers and students at Hogwarts could clearly feel that the atmosphere of the school had changed like never before.

And the changes are for the better!

Meanwhile, Elaine began his third week at Hogwarts.

Monday, Potions class.

"Mr. Yakut, why didn't you prepare the potion according to the textbook instructions?"

Snape stood in front of Elaine's lab table with a dark expression.

His gaze was fixed on Elavin, as if he were looking at an enemy with whom he had a deep-seated hatred.

"Who told you to crush the mugwort before putting it in the crucible?"

"Why stir alternately clockwise and counterclockwise?!"

"I don't remember teaching you that just now!"

Elaine didn't look up at it, but focused intently on the cauldron in front of him, where the homework for this class—a certain potion—was being prepared.

The broth simmered gently over a low flame, making a bubbling sound.

"Professor, the textbook only teaches me how to do it, but good wizards have their own potion-making techniques."

"This medicine requires mugwort juice, so it's obviously easier to extract the juice by crushing it first and then putting it in, rather than throwing it in directly; the same goes for the stirring method, alternating between clockwise and counterclockwise will be better than using only one direction."

Snape was furious upon hearing this.

"Your unauthorized alteration of the steps in the textbook is completely superfluous!"

"Do you perhaps think your knowledge of potions is so extensive that you can improve potions?"

"Hufflepuff deduct 5 points!"

Just then, the medicine in the crucible suddenly changed color, and the slightly bitter steam disappeared, replaced by a faint fragrance.

This is a sign that the medicine has been prepared!

Snape's expression changed instantly, and disbelief appeared in his eyes.

Elaine calmly turned off the stove and slowly raised his head.

"But professor, the fact is, I didn't encounter any problems doing this."

"And look, it seems I've succeeded, and it took less time and was more effective than what's written in the textbook."

Snape remained silent.

He is the world's top potion master; he can tell the quality of a potion just by looking at it and smelling it.

Therefore, he was very clear that the potion Elaine brewed was perfect, even more perfect than the one made according to the textbook!

This annoying kid actually has such a high talent for potions?!

Snape was overwhelmed with mixed feelings.

The feeling was like seeing a bad-natured blond guy get the top score in the grade.

I am clearly resentful, but I am powerless to do anything about it.

At the same time, the pleasant fragrance of the medicine gradually spread throughout the classroom.

The young wizards who were brewing the potion stopped in their tracks when they smelled the aroma. They immediately looked up at Elavin, their faces showing expressions of utter disbelief.

"What happened?"

"I'm not entirely sure, but—it seems like Elaine has already finished?"

"What?! How is this possible?!"

"Everyone started making the potion at the same time. I followed the instructions in the book, and it still needs at least another fifteen minutes to brew. Even if Elaine is very skilled, it's impossible for him to finish now!"

"How did he do that?!"

"You're asking me? If I knew, we wouldn't have almost exploded just now—"

The young wizards' loud chatter, like mosquitoes buzzing by the bedside on a summer night, annoyed Snape to no end.

He turned sharply and glared at the young wizard who had just spoken.

Because he used too much force, his greasy long hair flew directly into his eyes.

"What's all the noise about?!"

"Have you finished too?"

"Ravenclaw loses 20 points for not focusing on brewing potions! Hufflepuff also loses 20 points!!"

"6

The young wizards instantly felt a sense of suffocation.

A full 20 points!!

How many questions would I have to answer in other classes to make up for it?!

Sensing the silent wails of the young wizards, Snape felt much better.

He withdrew his gaze, glanced once more at the potion in Elaine's cauldron, snorted coldly, and turned to leave.

After class.

Instead of rushing to the cafeteria for their meals, the young wizards gathered around Elavin's lab table.

"Eleven, how did you do that?!"

Ernie held his head tightly in his hands.

He had just been brewing potions at the same lab table as Elaine and had witnessed the entire process.

Even so, he still couldn't believe what he was seeing and wondered if he was living in a dream.

"You actually brewed a potion that's even more effective than the one in the textbook, and you even shortened the brewing time by 15 minutes?!"

"It's absolutely true!"

The speaker was a young Indian witch from Ravenclaw named Padma Patil.

"We all smelled that wonderful fragrance just now, even stronger than the potions Hermione brews! You know, she's the best potion brewer in Ravenclaw!"

Upon hearing this, everyone turned to look at Hermione.

Hermione stood quietly to the side, not saying a word, but staring intently at the potion residue in Elaine's cauldron, her face full of frustration.

"There's no need to question it at all; you can tell just by looking at Professor Snape's reaction."

Another Ravenclaw student, Anthony Goldstein, spoke up: "He was initially furious because Elvin didn't follow the instructions in the book, but after seeing the potion Elvin brewed, he didn't say a word and even left with a grim expression. So the potion must have been so effective that he couldn't criticize it!"

Everyone present agreed upon hearing this.

"It's a pity that Elaine's potion has already been handed in, otherwise I really wanted to take a closer look!"

A student named Michael Corner looked regretful, "Perhaps we could have learned some useful techniques from this—"

These Ravenclaw students had all joined the Study Club, so Elaine had a fairly good relationship with them.

"Come to think of it, this seems to be the second time Elaine has defeated Professor Snape!"

Suddenly someone said something that made all the little wizards in the classroom laugh.

"Did you notice? Professor Snape is targeting Elaine specifically today!"

"Of course I found out, and I know why—it must be because Elaine didn't invite him to be a judge for this Saturday's cooking competition!"

"That's what I think too!"

"Honestly, I think Eleven made the right decision not to invite Professor Snape! Did you really expect him to say anything good about it? If he had become a judge, he would have ruined the whole competition!"

"I dare say, if Professor Snape were on the judging panel, the number of participants would be reduced by half!"

"That's not necessarily true. Maybe someone will deliberately make him terrible food."

"Hahaha, that's so underhanded!"

For a moment, the Potions classroom was filled with a cheerful atmosphere.
