HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 51 Professor Cat is too depressed

The next day arrived in the blink of an eye.

After finishing their herb class with Gryffindor, Elaine, Justin, and Ernie went to the Transfiguration classroom together.

The Transfiguration classroom and Professor McGonagall's office are connected, both located on the second floor of the castle.

The classroom is spacious with a high ceiling and large windows all around, providing good natural light.

The students' desks and chairs are placed in the central area, with three students per desk, six desks per row, and a group on each side, arranged in an orderly manner.

All the tables and chairs faced a stone platform much higher than the ground, on which sat a large lectern. This allowed Professor McGonagall to have a clearer view of each wizard using Transfiguration when she was on the platform.

Along the walls are many cabinets, some complex skeletal models, and various anatomical diagrams of organisms, all of which are used as teaching aids.

Elaine and her two companions arrived at a reasonable time, and there weren't many people in the classroom yet, so they chose to sit in the middle.

Sitting in the middle seat during class is a habit Elaine has retained since his previous life.

Sitting here, I can make sure I can see what's on the blackboard clearly, and I don't have to ingest the teacher's chalk dust.

A short while later, several footsteps came from behind.

"Boss, look over there, it's Elavin Yakut!"

The voice sounded familiar.

Elaine turned around, composed himself, and then a playful smile appeared on his lips.

"Hello, Malfoy."

The newcomers were none other than Malfoy, along with his two henchmen, Crabbe and Goyle.

Hufflepuff took Transfiguration class with Slytherin in their first year.

"Hello, Yakut."

Malfoy stammered a reply, which puzzled Crabbe and Goyle behind him.

The two men asked in hushed tones, "Boss, should we give this guy the cold shoulder? He really messed up our dean yesterday..."

"Shut up, what do you know?!"

Malfoy interrupted the two with a low shout, then nodded to Elaine and sat down to his right.

What's wrong with this guy?

Elaine blinked, a hint of doubt in his eyes.

He considered many possibilities.

Perhaps Malfoy would make sarcastic remarks to "seek justice" and "save face" for their Dean, Professor Snape;

Or perhaps he will ignore him and walk away.

But Elaine never expected that Malfoy would respond to him so honestly.

Is this still the same proud and arrogant young master?

It's a pity that Elaine doesn't know 'sound magic' yet, otherwise he could listen to what Malfoy is thinking.

At this moment, Malfoy was actually quite frustrated.

The night before last, during the Sorting Ceremony, he was so inspired by Elaine's impassioned speech that he couldn't wait to throw himself into the great revolutionary movement that would change the magical world and become a glorious hero.

However, once he returned to the Slytherin dormitory, he finally calmed down.

What does it mean that "the Twenty-Eight Sacred Races have existed since ancient times"?

The Malfoy family is one of the Twenty-Eight Holy Clans!

Elaine wants to reorganize the magical world and overturn the existing order. Isn't that jeopardizing his own family's interests?!

After realizing what had happened, Malfoy wrote a letter to his father, Lucius Malfoy, detailing everything Elevin had said and done at the Sorting Ceremony, as well as his own thoughts, and asked him how he should get along with Elevin.

Then last night, he received a reply.

In the letter, Lucius Malfoy instructed:

"This little wizard named Elaine is definitely not your average Mudblood!"

"Both his words and actions prove that he is a rather dangerous wizard—not only in terms of power, but also in terms of his mind."

"The Malfoy family would rather be friends with such a person than be his enemy."

"Just observe him patiently for a while and see if he takes any further action at Hogwarts. If he does, write to me first and I'll tell you how to deal with it."

"In the meantime, I will also investigate this person from the perspective of the Muggle community."

"Try not to clash with him while you're at Hogwarts, but don't be too close either. It's best to keep a respectful distance."

If it weren't for this letter, Malfoy would have done exactly what Elaine predicted.

Just after Malfoy and his two companions took their seats, a tabby cat silently slipped in through a small door next to the classroom.

Few people in the classroom noticed the cat, but Elaine, who was always keeping a close eye on the teachers, saw it.

All the young wizards present were taking Transfiguration for the first time, so they were not very familiar with the classroom environment, but Elaine knew that the small door led to Professor McGonagall's office.

In other words, the kitten came from Professor McGonagall's office.

Elaine also knew that Professor McGonagall was one of the seven registered wizards in the wizarding world who could use Animagus, and that her Animagus form was a tabby cat.

Therefore, it's not hard to guess that this cat is Professor McGonagall herself!

The tabby cat's true identity is indeed Professor Minerva McGonagall.

This was a clever trick she came up with during her summer vacation—first, she would transform into a cat and come to the classroom. After class started, she would suddenly transform back into her real form in front of the students to give them a fright. This would allow the young wizards who were just about to learn about transfiguration to experience the wonder and fun of this magic firsthand, thereby increasing their interest in learning.

Professor McGonagall, now a cat, easily leaped onto her lectern and then looked around at the young wizards in the classroom.

The Hufflepuff students sat on one side, and the Slytherin students sat on the other.

The two are clearly distinct, like oil and water; even if they are put in the same bottle, they cannot be mixed together.

Just as Tiger Cat Spot's gaze fell on Elaine, her body trembled slightly, because she realized that the little wizard was looking at her and smiling and nodding in acknowledgment.

That gaze seemed to say: I've found you!

Elavin Yakut?!

Did this little wizard recognize him?

That's unlikely, he's just a newly enrolled wizard...

Wait a minute, it doesn't seem impossible!

Although he was just a freshman, he was the first little wizard to pull out the Gryffindor sword!

Moreover, Dumbledore himself said that this young wizard's magical talent was very strong, no less than his own in his youth...

Thinking about this, Professor McGonagall felt even more depressed.

Why didn't such a talented young wizard come to Gryffindor?!

But the next second, Professor McGonagall felt a sliver of hope creep into her heart.

She had already heard about what happened yesterday, the argument between Elaine and Snape in Potions class.

On the very first day and in the very first class, he openly defied the professor and showed contempt for Potions, for which he was penalized ten points...

Forget it.

These kinds of students are just too difficult to manage!
