HP: Wizards at Hogwarts

Chapter 32 My Compatriots

Dumbledore certainly noticed the subtle hint Professor McGonagall was giving him.

However, he simply shook his head slightly, meaning: ignore it, let him talk!

Seeing that no one stopped him, Elaine became bolder.

"More than two thousand years ago, a saying arose in a distant ancient country in the East: 'Are kings and nobles born with a special destiny?' This means that no one is born more noble than others."

"The person who said this rose from a commoner to become a 'king' through his own efforts, and his words were recorded by later generations, becoming the guiding ideology for criticizing the theory of bloodline in the ancient Eastern country for two thousand years."

"However, more than two thousand years later, in Great Britain and in the magical world, there is still a group of ignorant people who have failed to grasp this point."

"To all of you students from pure-blood families, I hope you can realize something."

"Only those who are weak at heart would constantly talk about their family's past glory and be proud and complacent about it."

"Truly powerful people will only strive to improve themselves and become wizards who contribute to the magical world, hoping to have their own page in the family tree, to have their names added to Chocolate Frog's card collection, or to milestones in the history of the magical world."

"They will make their entire family and future generations proud of them!"

"The Twenty-Eight Sacred Races—have they existed since ancient times?"

It draws on classical texts, compares the past and present, and poses thought-provoking questions.

Elaine's revolutionary remarks once again ignited the entire audience.

On the Slytherin table.

Several students from pure-blood families glared at Elavin.

In their eyes, the blood flowing in their veins is the pride of their family and the glory they were born with. But now, this pride and glory has been devalued by Elaine, so naturally no one can give Elaine a friendly look.

Of course, not all pure-blood wizards are like this.

Some pure-blood wizards stared at Elivin, mesmerized by the words he said next.

This included Malfoy.

"A separate page for the family genealogy? So that the family and future generations can be proud of it?"

"What a lofty ideal!"

"I misjudged him before. I never imagined that this Muggle-born kid would possess such extraordinary talent, such a vast understanding of the universe, and such boundless ambition!"

"He must be one of us Slytherin!"

At the teachers' table.

Professor Quirrell suddenly felt a burning sensation on the back of his head.

He turned pale with fright.

What happened?!

Was Voldemort provoked by what a little wizard said?

Surely not...

He quickly looked around and found Snape staring straight at him, which made his heart pound with nervousness.

"This...this little wizard's...statement...is...quite...interesting...isn't it?"

Snape withdrew his gaze and looked at Elaine not far away, commenting calmly, "Trying to shatter the pride of a pure-blood wizard with just a few words, I don't think his mind is much better than a troll's."

Quirrell: "..."

Call ~

Thankfully, it's all been covered up.

Dumbledore took a sip of the sweet pumpkin juice, his lips almost twitching with barely suppressed mirth.

Elaine is absolutely right! He's spot on!

Truly worthy of being the person I personally brought into the magical world!

These two insightful and brilliant speeches already show seventy percent of my former brilliance!

"My compatriots..."

Oh, it's not over yet?

Dumbledore put down his wine glass and continued to listen to Elaine's profound insights.

"My compatriots, such thunderous applause should not be for me, but for yourselves."

"The reason you applauded and cheered just now is because you share the same thoughts as me."

"We all want to discard the outdated and corrupt ideas, traditions, and bad habits of the magical world. We all want change, innovation, and to create a better future."

Dumbledore's smile froze on his face, and his heart skipped a beat.

These two sentences sound so familiar.

Elaine continued chanting.

"Magic is a rare but wondrous power that exists only among a very small number of humans."

"We can do many things with magic!"

"Building houses, irrigating farmland, treating diseases, combating natural disasters, improving species, developing the economy, and even preventing death."

"I believe that its emergence is to bring happiness and health to mankind, stability and civilization to society, and prosperity and strength to the country."

"Not just from the wizarding world, but also from the Muggle world!"

"This is destined to be no easy path, but since fate has chosen us, this is our responsibility!"

Dumbledore's brow began to furrow, and his mood was no longer as relaxed as before.

"However, the wizards who possessed this power, these chosen ones, failed to accomplish all of this."

"This was true in the past, it is true now, and it will be true in the foreseeable future as well."

"Because the wizards chose to run away!"

Elaine gradually raised his voice, and his emotions became more intense.

"Just because of a little hostility from the Muggle community, we've shirked our responsibilities!"

"In turn, we also lost our rightful rights—the right to live under the sun and the right to use magic freely."

"Three hundred years ago, the magic world enacted the Law of Secrecy. Since then, wizards have been like a group of rats that cannot see the light of day, building another society in an unknown corner, doing their best to hide themselves and avoid exposing everything related to magic to Muggles."

"Since then, the magical world has never seen another major breakthrough that has changed the lives of all wizards."

"You could say our society is still stuck three hundred years in the past!"

Meanwhile, the Muggle world is developing rapidly!

"With the First Industrial Revolution, they entered the 'Steam Age'; with the Second Industrial Revolution, they entered the 'Electrical Age'; with the Third Industrial Revolution, they entered the 'Technological Age'."

"The increase in productivity has ushered in an era of global population explosion!"

"It's like a giant dragon, having passed its infancy and about to grow into the most powerful creature in the world!"

The students frowned and fell into deep thought.

Dumbledore's hand trembled slightly.

too fast!

The topic jumped around too fast!

If this continues...

In his field of vision, Elaine on the bench gradually overlapped with a figure from his memory.

Dumbledore's intuition told him that he couldn't let Elaine continue, or something terrible would happen.

But for some reason, it felt as if two voices in my brain were desperately trying to stop me—

Don't interrupt him!

Let this kid talk a little more, just a little more!

Dumbledore suddenly seemed to lose his senses.

He seemed to finally remember whose voice it was.

That was Gellert in his youth, and myself in my youth!
