My brainpower is evolving infinitely.

"Was that the passenger with the license plate ending in 5008?"

As soon as he got into the car, the Didi driver asked him a question beforehand, and Lin Ye nodded.

"good."

"Then let's set off."

The driver stepped on the gas, and the car sped onto the main road.

At that moment, Lin Ye suddenly heard a rapid siren.

Turning my head, I saw several police cars speeding past.

"What major incident has occurred? Why have so many vehicles been deployed at once?"

Lin Ye looked puzzled, and the Didi driver immediately responded:

"Hey, I don't know what's going on lately, but a lot of bad people have appeared in Shanghai. There are thieves and robbers, and even a murderer."

We have a colleague who was killed while pulling a rickshaw at night. His son had just been born, and his wife was still in the delivery room...

Lin Ye's heart tightened upon hearing these words.

When he learned that there were evolved beings in the world, he had wondered if anyone would want to break the existing social order.

After all, many people who have evolved superhuman powers still can't control themselves from eating beef.

He just didn't expect that this day would come so soon.

It's like a joke circulating online.

On my first day as a superhuman, I cautiously tested the waters...

On the second day of the extraordinary adventure, I wanted to be Superman...

On the third day of my extraordinary journey, I didn't eat beef...

"My decision to improve my physical strength was correct, and... we need to speed it up!"

Lin Ye thought to himself.

...

Half an hour later, Lin Ye appeared at Huichuntang in Shanghai.

"As expected of the largest traditional Chinese medicine store in Shanghai, it's really impressive."

The Huichuntang store in front of us is located in the most bustling area along the Huangpu River in Shanghai. The store has three floors above ground and probably exceeds two or three thousand square meters, which is almost the size of a small shopping mall.

Huichuntang was founded a century ago by the Qin family, a renowned medical family in Shanghai.

It is said that the ancestors of the Qin family served as imperial physicians for generations, possessing astonishing medical skills that placed them among the best in Eastern Xia.

Of course, the medicinal herbs here are more expensive than outside, but the quality is absolutely guaranteed.

Lin Ye is facing many problems now.

One is that the number of evolved beings is gradually increasing, and social order is gradually getting out of control.

The other is the Eastern Xia Federation.

Making money in the stock market can indeed be extremely lucrative, but if it continues for too long, it will inevitably attract attention and scrutiny from the authorities.

Lin Ye needs to increase his strength as much as possible before social order completely spirals out of control and before he is discovered by the Eastern Xia Federation.

"Hello, sir, are you here for a doctor's visit or to pick up medication?"

As soon as I entered the gate, a staff member dressed in a black stockings office lady uniform came up to greet me.

The strong high-end commercial style made Lin Ye secretly sigh.

These days, there are 360 professions, and every single one of them...

"I want to buy medicinal herbs."

"Okay, what kind of medicinal herbs do you want to buy?"

Lin Ye handed over a list that he had already written.

The list contained many medicinal herbs, but most of them were cheap, with only a few century-old ginseng, lingzhi, and snow lotus being extremely expensive.

Take a century-old ginseng as an example; a single plant can cost nearly a million!

The top-grade medicinal herbs on this list are worth millions.

The staff member smiled as he took the list, but after glancing at it, his smile suddenly froze.

"What's wrong? Is there a problem?"

Lin Ye raised an eyebrow slightly, and the waiter smiled again:

"Excuse me, sir, due to the scarcity of high-end medicinal materials in recent years, major pharmacies have signed an agreement that anyone wishing to purchase high-end medicinal materials must possess a sufficiently high level of medical expertise in order to avoid extravagance and waste."

Do you have any advanced certification in Traditional Chinese Medicine? For example, a master's degree or higher...?

"You need this to buy medicine?"

Lin Ye really hadn't expected this problem.

The staff member responded with an apologetic smile.

"This is mainly to prevent speculators from driving up the prices of high-end drugs and from making indiscriminate purchases, which could lead to a shortage of high-end drugs when pharmacists are dispensing medications for patients."

Common medicinal materials are not subject to this restriction.

Lin Ye was feeling a slight headache and was considering whether to spend money to find a senior pharmacist to buy medicine for him when he suddenly heard a familiar voice.

"Huh, it's you?"

Lin Ye turned his head and saw a girl wearing a light brown short-sleeved shirt and tight jeans. She had a graceful figure and long legs that were particularly eye-catching, exuding a youthful and fashionable vibe.

And the other person's identity turned out to be the girl from the library—Qin Shuwan.

"Hello there."

Lin Ye responded calmly.

Qin Shuwan smiled gently.

"I lost my student ID that day, and when I went back to look for it, I found out that you had found it and even handed it in to the library front desk for me. Thank you."

"It was nothing, and you gave me food in return, so we're even."

"I should thank you, otherwise it would have been much more troublesome to get it redone. By the way, what's this...?"

Qin Shuwan looked puzzled, and the staff immediately explained Lin Ye's needs.

Qin Shuwan took the list, glanced at it, and raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Student, these medicinal herbs are very expensive. Without a doctor to prescribe them, it will be a huge waste. Are you sure you want them?"

Lin Ye nodded. Qin Shuwan pondered for a moment, then turned to the waiter and said:

"Just match him with it, and register the identity under my name."

"Yes."

The staff quickly took the medicine to prepare it, while Lin Ye seemed to have thought of something.

"Are you from the Qin family?"

Qin Shuwan smiled slightly.

"Otherwise, why would I be studying medicine? I don't even know your name!"

"Lin Ye".

"Lin Ye, if you have any questions about medicine in the future, feel free to come to me anytime."

Thank you.

You're welcome, goodbye.

Qin Shuwan waved her hand, got up and walked upstairs. Lin Ye stared at her back, lost in thought.

It's not that he has any particular thoughts; having lived two lives, he's not so easily captivated by a beautiful woman.

There was just something about the other person that made me feel... dangerous.

I didn't feel it before, but after upgrading my brainpower to Lv.2, I realized that this brainpower level must have been equipped with a certain degree of mental perception.

"Could she also be an evolved being? Or... a practitioner of ancient martial arts?"

I need to be more careful in the future. Until I am strong enough, I should avoid contact with these beings as much as possible.

Soon, the waiter had packed all the medicinal herbs.

"Sir, your medicine is ready. The total is 8.67 million."

Lin Ye sighed inwardly, no wonder the ancients often said: "The poor study literature, the rich study martial arts."

This small amount of body-cleansing medicine costs nearly nine million; most people simply can't afford to learn how to make it.

"Please also get me a set of silver needles, thank you."

"OK."

After swiping his card and receiving the medicinal herbs, Lin Ye did not return to his school dormitory.

The body wash is a time-consuming process that cannot be completed in a day or two; it is estimated to take one to two weeks to finish.

Brewing traditional Chinese medicine in the dorm every day, it's no wonder they get complaints.

Originally, Lin Ye planned to rent a place anywhere, but after hearing what the Didi driver said, he changed his mind.

Evolvers have appeared, and living independently outside is too unsafe.

So he chose a safe and reliable place where he wouldn't have to worry about meals or cleaning.

Lin Ye dialed the number of a five-star hotel in Shanghai.

"Hello, I'd like to rent a deluxe suite for half a month. What kind of discount can I get?"
