I practiced my spirituality alone in Hong Kong.

Chapter 37 Li Chang'an, you let me fly!

Seeing Wen Zhilan's persistence, Li Chang'an finally took the key from her hand.

He now travels daily between Hong Kong Island and Kowloon, and he does indeed need a means of transportation.

At worst, I can give the class monitor a gift of equal value when I have money from filming in the future.

Li Chang'an stroked the body of the Yamaha car, unable to contain his excitement.

He handed the helmet to Wen Zhilan, then leaped onto the carriage, extending his hand like a knight inviting a princess to mount her horse, and said:

"Please come up, class monitor."

Wen Zhilan's eyes flickered slightly. She gently placed her hand on his palm, then sat down and leaned against him from behind.

"It seems you really like my gift."

Despite thinking this way, Wen Zhilan felt a sense of guilt towards Xing Ning, but it was indeed pleasing for a man to accept your gifts without accepting those from other women.

buzz-

Li Chang'an twisted the throttle, and the three-cylinder engine of the beast beneath him suddenly roared, its sound deep and powerful.

"No man can refuse a motorcycle given by his squad leader."

"Hold on tight, squad leader, I'm going to speed up."

"etc……"

Wen Zhilan brought her thin lips close to Li Chang'an's ear and whispered:

"Xingning has an older sister who often rides motorcycles. She once mentioned that there's a road that's perfect for racing. Let's drive there."

I heard the motorcycle racing competitions only happen at night; it should be quieter during the day.

Li Chang'an asked in surprise:

"Squad leader, you've only been riding motorcycles for two days, and you already dare to ask me to take you racing? Aren't you afraid?"

"I'm not afraid."

Wen Zhilan's fingertips twirled the strands of hair by her ear.

"Because Li Chang'an will definitely protect me, the weak class monitor, right?"

……

……

Tsuen Wan Hill, in the northern part of Kowloon and the New Territories of Hong Kong.

This mountain is the highest peak in all of Hong Kong.

Because it is covered in mist year-round due to its resistance to the southern monsoon, locals also call it the Great Fog Mountain.

There is an 11-kilometer-long mountain road that winds around the mountain. Because it has many sharp bends and steep slopes and is very narrow, few cars pass through it.

Because of the absence of cars and the challenging road conditions, Tsuen Kam Road has become a racing mecca for the entire Hong Kong motorcycle community.

In front of Tsuen Kam Road, a blond-haired, blue-eyed foreigner was slowly putting on protective gear.

Two men and a woman were talking in hushed tones nearby.

"This is Danny Lowe, a professional rider from the UK. He rides for a second-tier team and has won several regional championships in the 250cc and 350cc championships in the UK."

His season results in the GP series are consistently between 10th and 15th place, occasionally breaking into the top ten, and he is currently preparing for next year's Isle of Man TT.

"This Englishman can participate in the Isle of Man TT?!" someone exclaimed in surprise.

The Isle of Man TT is the world's most legendary and dangerous motorcycle road race. Riders' motorcycles can be modified almost without limit, making it a death sport that pursues the limits of motorcycle speed.

In 2025, David Todd, the Isle of Man TT Superbike champion, will achieve an average lap time of 213.23 km/h, and his top speed will reach a terrifying 320 km/h, making him practically a land-based flyer!

Even though the Isle of Man TT racers in the late 1970s were limited by the technology of motorcycles at that time and could not reach such terrifying speeds, it was still definitely the most dangerous race in the world of motorcycles.

Drivers who can participate in this kind of competition naturally possess extremely high skill levels.

"Should we really invite him to the competition?"

"But his asking price was too high, and he was too arrogant..."

"Westerners are arrogant and generally look down on Asians. If we don't invite him, we can't find anyone else."

Investors are pessimistic about our club right now, and the owner is almost bankrupt. We're betting this match will turn things around...

Danny, seemingly noticing their hesitation, smiled faintly and said in English:

"Guys, to be honest, if it weren't for a friend's recommendation, I wouldn't have been interested in coming here to show off my skills to you backward Hong Kong racers."

If you don't trust my abilities, you can send someone up here to run a lap with me on this road.

"Once you experience firsthand just how vast the gap is between international professional drivers and your Hong Kong drivers, you'll understand how right it was to invite me to compete."

Upon hearing this, a young man with a buzz cut muttered a curse under his breath, then picked up his motorcycle and said:

"Alright, since this foreigner wants to compete, I'll compete with him."

The other couple didn't object; the man with the buzz cut was already the best driver in their club, so it was a good opportunity to test Danny's skills.

"One, two—"

"three!"

With a whistle, the roar of the motorcycle engine echoed through the mountains and forests.

Danny and the man with the buzz cut sped off in their cars almost simultaneously.

The man with the buzz cut twisted the accelerator hard, following closely behind Danny. On the first half of the straight road, the two were only half a car length apart.

When the first sharp bend appeared ahead, Danny lightly pressed his wrist, and the car smoothly tilted over it.

The man with the buzz cut felt a chill and slowed down to bend, but he was still a beat too slow. By the time he adjusted his posture and rushed out of the bend, Danny had already left him far behind.

Then came the second series of S-curves, where the surrounding mountain fog thickened and visibility decreased further.

Danny remained calm and composed, while the man with the buzz cut lost his rhythm, frequently adjusting his center of gravity. When he finally emerged from the bend and looked at the taillights in the distance, he was filled with shock and resentment.

Is this the skill level of professional drivers from Europe and America? Just a few corners apart, and I couldn't even catch up with his taillights!

Just as the man with the buzz cut was lost in thought, a louder, more powerful engine roar suddenly came from behind him.

Faintly, one could still hear a girl's laughter and exclamations.

The man with the buzz cut wondered, could it be that his clubmates had arrived?

Before he could react, a black and white mountain leaf flashed past him like lightning.

The man with the buzz cut immediately cursed inwardly:

"A madman! This person is absolutely insane!"

The entire Quanjin Highway has no guardrails, and it has many curves, as well as blind spots caused by dense fog in the mountains.

Which driver who usually races here would dare to drive carelessly? How dare this guy drive so fast, and even have a girl on the back seat?!

Meanwhile, Danny, ahead of him, was marveling at the Hong Kong drivers, who were indeed overestimating themselves. He hadn't even really gone all out yet, and they had already left him behind with just a few cornering techniques.

Just as Danny was looking ahead at the next sharp bend, preparing to slow down and adjust the car's center of gravity to get through the bend, he suddenly caught a glimpse of a Yamaha speeding towards him from the corner of his eye in the rearview mirror.

He was facing a sharp bend ahead that even he had to be careful around.

The other party not only did not slow down, but also twisted the throttle violently, and the roar of the engine became more and more violent, as if it wanted to break through all obstacles.

In the blink of an eye, the Yamaha overtook the slowing-down Danny.

However, its body became increasingly violent at high speeds, and it could break free of control and plunge off the cliff at any moment!

This person wants to commit suicide?!

Danny was somewhat taken aback, thinking the other person was a reckless young man who had lost control of his motorcycle.

He immediately smirked, waiting to see the other person fall off the cliff and make a fool of himself.

But the next moment, what he saw before his eyes was unbelievable.

The young man on the Yamaha motorcycle leaned forward, his arms bulging with muscles and veins, his large hands gripping the handlebars tightly as if cast in steel.

At the same time, his legs clamped tightly around the fuel tank like iron clamps.

The car body shook violently...

But he actually managed to subdue this wild three-cylinder horse that was about to go berserk by sheer force!

"Squeak—hiss—!!"

The tires screeched against the road as Li Chang'an, with an incredibly domineering attitude, controlled the wild horse beneath him to accelerate through the bend.

Sitting behind him, Wen Zhilan clung tightly to the boy's waist. With the wind whipping in her face, she closed her eyes and laughed loudly:

"That was...that was powerful! We practically ripped the guy behind us apart!"

"Li Chang'an, you let me fly—!"

Author's P.S.: Some Important Matters Regarding the Fate of This Book

The current period for new books on Qidian is extremely competitive. My book was doing quite well during the initial submission phase, but in last Tuesday's round of competition, it failed to advance by just a little bit more reader engagement.

When I heard this news, I was quite surprised, because I knew about the competition from two weeks ago. Last Tuesday, the number of readers who had read the book was seven or eight more readers than the previous week's competition threshold, yet the book still didn't win. And the threshold for the competition two weeks ago was already considered high by previous standards.

It's a real shame that the author encountered a series of works that got better and better with each episode (sad).

Then the nightmare began: after being removed from the library and without any recommendations, the work was essentially cut off from streaming.

Once a work falls into this situation, it's easy to get caught in a negative cycle: no traffic, and the longer it drags on, the less it meets the requirements for advancing in the competition, leading to continued low traffic.

Fortunately, the author had prepared thoroughly for this book, and the plot development remained stable. Although the streaming service was interrupted, the readership didn't drop, indicating that the book only lacked viewership, and the story itself was fine.

So everything hinges on tomorrow, Tuesday's new round of competition. If I still can't advance, this book will face another ten-day hiatus. Although the author has high hopes for this book, because I've really discussed it extensively with the editor and made thorough preparations.

But another ten days of silence... saying it's all over is too pessimistic, but... anyway, I hope that if you readers really like the story, you'll definitely read on tomorrow, Tuesday.

The author is extremely grateful!

(I'll post another chapter tomorrow to encourage you to continue reading. I hope my readers won't find it long-winded. I just want this book to survive. Thank you so much!)
