Chapter 185 A New Invitation

Chapter 186 A New Invitation

After the man who called himself Faki jumped onto the bridge, a smaller man also jumped onto the yacht.

The person behind him had dark skin and was only wearing shorts. He didn't even have shoes, but his wrists, the backs of his hands, and his ankles were tightly wrapped in linen.

He wore gold hoops on his lower lip and ears, and all the hair around the top of his head was shaved off, except for a small tuft in the center, which was braided into a slightly curved topknot.

After crossing the bridge, he attacked the thugs who had been carrying rocket launchers without saying a word. His moves were fluid and swift, each punch and kick carrying the force to shatter its target.

Harry was also quite capable; together, they quickly cleared out the thugs on both sides of the bridge.

Guan Luoyang gazed at the shore across the bridge. Just now, a third person from the yacht had crossed the water and was already engaged in combat with the sniper who had jumped down from the rooftop on the street.

Even after losing his sniper rifle, the one-eyed sniper did not surrender. His large gray waterproof combat suit concealed countless firearms, so many that he could fire bullets with the slightest bend of his joints, without even needing to use his hands.

But the third person who came from the yacht blocked all the bullets without even drawing his knife. Finally, he hit the sniper on the top of the head with the hilt of his knife, and carrying the unconscious sniper, he leaped towards the bridge.

Harry quickly returned to Guan Luoyang's side and shouted to Farch, "Sir, thank you for your bravery. Please hand over these prisoners to us for interrogation."

They had just been cooperating against the thugs, but now Harry's attitude was clearly full of wariness and rejection.

"Oh? If you're in charge, what kind of results can you get from the interrogation?"

Fachi was equally uncooperative. After knocking the curly-haired man unconscious, he handed him over to the dark-skinned boxer guard, laughing heartily, "Will we find them dead in the guardhouse in a few days, or will we find them again on some unknown street sometime later?"

Harry's face hardened, and he joined the other sheriffs who had gathered around him, speaking with a shared sense of righteous indignation: "Mr. Fudge, please trust the sheriffs' integrity. What you just said was not funny."

"Even middle school students in the Eastern Hemisphere know that each state in the United States has its own unique laws, and sheriffs act in accordance with state laws. The reliability of the Violet State sheriffs is notoriously bad throughout the United States."

"After all, this is a city that advocates and promotes the legalization of street fighting. Does it really care about human rights and humanitarianism?"

The man with short blond hair exuded an air of authority, pointing disdainfully at the sheriffs while looking earnestly at Guan Luoyang. "This esteemed fighter, those hyenas who swarm under the violet flowers are not worthy of your trust."

"Hahaha, so, are the old nobles of Violet really trustworthy?"

Harry turned and smiled. "Guan, my friend, I don't know if you've heard, but there's a widely circulated joke in Violet State that every old noble family keeps their own legal team, ready to deal with any unseemly disputes."

"One of their lawyers, after a court hearing, called his employer in high spirits and announced, 'Gentlemen, justice has prevailed.'"

"The nobleman on the other end of the phone was horrified and cried out in alarm, 'Appeal immediately!'"

Harry told the joke with such vividness and realism.

Although Guan Luoyang didn't find the story particularly humorous, it was undeniably a bit laughable, and he couldn't help but ask, "You mean, these three were also employed by those nobles?"

The so-called old aristocracy refers to some wealthy families who moved here at the beginning of the last century, before Violet State had developed.

They had good foresight, recognizing the area's advantageous geographical location and abundant exploitable precious metal and gemstone deposits. They used trade to expand their wealth and power.

Like bloodsucking vines parasitizing Violet State, the power of these families grew increasingly bloated as Violet State expanded.

As conflicts of interest arose between families, internal struggles inevitably followed, and they gradually declined under the pressure of new forces.

Especially after street fighting was legalized, the atmosphere in the city became increasingly intense and volatile. Every year, new immigrants no longer had any sense of awe or respect for those corrupt families.

"The old fogies of the old era cannot cultivate talents as bright as the rising sun. Even if they unite, they still have to rely on external aid brought in through employment relationships."

Harry said to Guan Luoyang, "These three, to some extent, represent the inclinations of all the old nobles."

He said this to Guan Luoyang not to help Fachi and his group raise their status, but rather to point out something.

It's easy to imagine how incompetent a group of native nobles must have been to rely on a few outsiders to act on their behalf.

"That is why we, the people we represent, are absolutely disgusted by any chaotic behavior that undermines their authority."

Fachi stared intently at Guan Luoyang, then switched to Chinese and said, "In particular, they discovered that besides those politicians who wanted to profit from legalizing street fighting, there was another force secretly pushing things along."

Because of a single sentence Guan Luoyang uttered, he was able to discern Guan Luoyang's native language and even switch back to the same language to communicate.

"It is precisely because we were aware of this force that creates clones and closely monitored related events that we were able to arrive so promptly, preventing this gentleman from having his time wasted by those useless fools."

Of all the things they've said so far, only this sentence truly moved Guan Luoyang to some extent.

Guan Luoyang said, "So, you already have some understanding of this organization?"

"They certainly know more and have tried harder than these sheriffs."

Faki readily agreed, "Let's use that yacht down there as our temporary lodging. It has top-quality tea from Donghua on board. How about we chat somewhere else?"

Harry said, "Close..."

"Harry, you've already recorded our Q&A at the base, so it doesn't really matter whether we go there or not."

Guan Luoyang tossed him a note, "I'll go with them to take a look first. Here's my contact information. Don't forget my request."

Harry took the note, paused for a moment, and smiled, "If there are any new developments on either side, we can contact each other again. Hopefully, that won't be too long."
