I was horrified. I was almost certain that something was inside the thing's belly. This scene reminded me of the movie "Alien," which I used to love watching. There was a scene that left a deep impression on me: the facehugger injects an embryo into a human body. When the embryo reaches the final stage, it will burst out of the human body with sharp teeth and become an adult.

The thought sent a chill down my spine, but I didn't have time to worry about that now. Several more female corpses were climbing down the vines, some with round bellies and others with slender figures. I knew that my skills were only good enough to deal with slow-moving undead. I couldn't catch those that moved as fast as lightning. So, I could only run away as fast as I could.

However, the huge exposed tree roots and vines here caused me a lot of trouble. There were always hands reaching out from the vines, and I felt like an athlete running while holding a rugby ball.

I gritted my teeth and turned to save Qiuyue, but it was too late. Four female corpses suddenly appeared on Qiuyue's back and pounced on her. In a flash, the little fire monkey cried out and suddenly leaped onto the back of one of the female corpses. The female corpse felt the scorching heat, let out a mournful cry, and tried to pull away the heat source from her body. However, although the female corpse still retained some consciousness, she was, after all, a monster that had died and regenerated. She was not good at using her hands behind her back and could not grab the fire monkey. Her fur coat also began to burn.

The other female corpses recoiled in fear at the sight of the fire, and Qiuyue quickly got up. The burning female corpse suddenly became an object of contempt among her companions. She stretched out her hands and wandered around in agony. Fearing that the fire would destroy the forest, Qiuyue hammered the corpse into her knees with jujube nails. The corpse looked up and howled fiercely at Qiuyue, her teeth clenching. It seemed that this creature was quite vengeful.

"****! It's here! It's here!" Bao Cai and Ba Jian, who had been hiding on the side, collapsed to the ground without the fire monkey's light source. They stared at the round-bellied female corpse climbing down the vines, their legs too weak to run.

I yelled in a panic, "Idiot, get up and run!" Distracted, I ran and bumped into something, falling flat on my back. I sat up with a contorted expression. The thing I had bumped into was also lying on the ground, but it had no expression. It was wearing a mask and hissing. Upon closer inspection, it was a round-bellied female corpse. Its eyes peeked out from behind the mask, eerie and chilling.

Taking advantage of her slow movements, I got up before her, grabbed my battle scythe, and prepared to give birth to her quickly. However, just as I approached, the female corpse suddenly started shaking her head violently as if having a seizure, making whimpering noises, looking extremely painful. As she shook her head, countless drops of viscous fluid gushed from her mouth.

I don't know if fear drained my strength or what, but my body suddenly felt much lighter, and my breathing became heavy. I was terrified by this sudden turn of events, momentarily forgetting what I was about to do. Then I saw her mask flung off, her mouth gaping open as she dry-heaved, her entire body kneeling on the ground, her abdomen churning noticeably. I was completely bewildered, thinking, "What's going on?"

Just as I was feeling drowsy, there was a "crack" sound, as if something had split open. I initially thought it was the strange sound coming from the round-bellied female corpse in front of me, but actually, I was just too nervous, and the sound came from another direction.

After that sound, I heard Bao Cai's terrified scream, and Qiu Yue exclaimed in surprise, "This! This fat corpse, like the female corpse in the corpse platter, is a host! Run!"

I was behind several giant trees, so I didn't know what they had seen, but when Qiuyue mentioned the corpse plate and the host, my heart jumped. The story that Bao Cai had told me about how they had fallen from the top of the stream in a panic to avoid the extremely powerful meatballs flashed through my mind.

Could it be? I stared blankly at the fat female corpse in front of me. She was lying on the ground, and after vomiting to a certain extent, she sprayed waxy yellow liquid from her mouth. Soon, her convulsive movements stopped, and her abdomen returned to calm. At that moment, the female corpse seemed to have truly become a corpse. As I was thinking this, I suddenly heard several sharp, noisy screams. Immediately afterward, the female corpse in front of me, which had become quiet, suddenly twitched as if electrocuted. I was still frightened and didn't see clearly, but in that instant, I still caught a glimpse of something, like someone knocking on a door. There was a knock, then it stopped abruptly, but if the person wanted to come in, they would knock again. So if I wasn't mistaken, the rolling thing was preparing to burst out of her belly.

I thought I was fully prepared for this fact, but when I witnessed the round thing suddenly burst out of the woman's abdomen after it had calmed down, I was still so frightened that I stumbled.

The shock I felt from "Alien" was so profound. I thought what would come out of my stomach would be at least the head of a monster and bloody teeth, but it wasn't. It was just an egg-shaped thing. I felt like I had seen this thing somewhere before, but I didn't see it emerge completely because the little Taoist priest and the others were already looking for me. Everyone was very anxious.

I walked around the giant tree that blocked my way, and the energy that the goblin fruit had given me suddenly seemed to have been completely drained. I wondered if the fruit had a time limit and if it would restore us to our initial state of fatigue after the medicinal effect wore off.

However, I didn't think that much about it. I thought that returning to my companions would give me a little sense of security. But when I saw the several obese female corpses lying in front of me, their bellies already cut open, I suddenly felt a tightness in my chest. This scene of people living in the dead was too horrific.

Inside their ruptured bellies were half-exposed, slippery eggs resembling giant octopus heads. Everyone stared in horror. I dodged left and right, like stepping on wooden stakes in a river, until I reached the young Taoist priest. For some reason, his breathing was also a bit heavy. Even stranger, after the obese female corpse completed its transformation, the fast-moving female corpses all silently collapsed to the ground without making a sound. At first, I thought they were resurrected zombies, so I didn't dare to approach. But the young Taoist priest said that during the fight, these agile female corpses suddenly collapsed. Bao Cai and Ba Jian said they almost lost their lives, but unexpectedly, these corpses just fell down on their own. Many of the obese female corpses, having not yet completed their gestation, also collapsed inexplicably.
