The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs
Chapter 145 The Power of Magic Resistance
Chapter 147 The Power of Magic Resistance
The whole process took less than a second, and it was clean and efficient, even the dirt on the petals disappeared.
He repeated this action over and over again, his hand speed increasing and his smile becoming more and more uncontrollable.
Aiden felt fortunate that he had chosen not to have anyone come with him.
Otherwise, these resources will most likely have to be distributed.
Moreover, his trump card, Xiaodie, might be exposed.
Just as Aiden had finished picking, a gust of wind suddenly swept up beside him, stirred up by the speeding magic broom.
Several wizards, upon seeing the small garden, widened their eyes, exchanged glances, and exclaimed with delight:
This is a resource point.
One witch stared wide-eyed, her mouth agape enough to fit an egg, her fingers gripping the broom handle so tightly they turned white at the knuckles.
Beside her, a male wizard exclaimed with a mixture of surprise and delight, "We've struck gold! We've made a fortune!"
After saying that, he reached out and grabbed at the ice-blue flower, his fingertips almost touching the petals, and saliva dripped down the corner of his mouth.
They had seen Aiden there long ago, but no one paid him any attention, and no one even gave him a second glance.
After all, the aura emanating from Aiden was only that of a mid-level wizard apprentice, not even as strong as the weakest among them.
"Take your claws off me," Aiden said coldly.
He was just about to pick that ice-blue flower.
Aiden was also puzzled. He had walked along that narrow passage for a long time before arriving here. Why were there other wizard apprentices near this garden?
He glanced at the badges on the wizards' bodies; they all had the same design.
"Could they have been randomly teleported here?" Aiden said, frowning, his fingers unconsciously rubbing the hilt of the dagger at his waist.
"Who are you? Quickly put down all the flowers you collected, and maybe I'll spare your life." The wizard withdrew his hand from the flowers, turned around and stared at Aiden, his chin held high, and immediately pulled out his wand and began to chant.
A fiery red sphere, the size of a fist, appeared at the tip of his wand, its surface shimmering with heat, and it looked as if it was about to smash into Aiden.
Aiden paused, staring at the fireball, then a smile suddenly appeared on his lips, followed by overwhelming joy.
"Perfect timing to test my magic resistance."
As he spoke, Aiden pulled out a small dagger and poured his newly acquired fire energy into it.
Soon, a faint red color appeared on his body, much like the color of the fireball. Even the veins on his arms glowed red.
The sphere, which had initially felt quite hot, no longer felt so scorching to Aiden. He could even feel the heat from the fireball penetrating his skin without harming him.
"What is this? Is it defensive magic?" The witch frowned, pointing at the red light emanating from Aiden's body. Aiden's unusual behavior caught the attention of the wizards.
The witch who started it said to the wizard, "Brother, quickly take care of him. If this resource point is discovered by others, we won't get any benefits. This kid is annoying."
Aiden glanced at him, a cold smile playing on his lips, and then suddenly leaped into the air.
The dirt beneath his feet flew up as he pulled out the dagger and stabbed it at the sorcerer not far ahead.
Aiden knew he had advanced to the Steelbone Runemaster class, with the buffs of Strength, Agility, Endurance, and Spirit runes.
His arm muscles bulged out, his body was like that of a wild beast, not to mention the talent of being a Rune Child.
Even dealing with ordinary high-level wizard apprentices wouldn't be difficult, let alone these few wizard apprentices who looked somewhat weak, even like they were trying to escape.
"Are you a melee wizard?" The wizard frowned, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. He had a bad feeling.
However, his combat experience told him that the brown-haired guy with red light emanating from his body was too fast.
Just as he was about to raise his hand to chant the spell again, Aiden was already three steps away from him. As he spoke, he directly threw the ball of fire in front of Aiden and muttered to himself, "Spirit Ring Trick, Little Fire Ball."
As the fireball flew out, it created a gust of hot wind that made Aiden's hair fly backward.
Undeterred, Aiden continued running, drawing his flaming dagger and slashing directly at the fireball.
The red flames on the dagger collided with the red light of the fireball.
The other wizards gaped, their jaws nearly dropping to the ground, staring at Aiden as if he were an idiot. One wizard even rubbed his eyes, thinking he was seeing things.
"This guy actually wants to fight a wizard's magic with his little dagger? What organization is he from? This is just too stupid!" A wizard couldn't help but shout, his voice trembling. The people next to him nodded in agreement, their faces full of disbelief.
A short, sorcerer riding a magic broom, the broom tip still covered in mud, shook his head and said, "Senior brother, quickly deal with him."
The witch's eyes lit up as she watched the fireball about to hit Aiden.
She had even started thinking about how to snatch the flowers from Aiden's hand after he was blown away.
"boom!"
The moment the dagger touched the sphere, it made a crisp sound, like shattering glass, instantly splitting the sphere in two. The fireball shattered in two, and red flames scattered in all directions, landing on the grass on the ground, instantly burning the grass to ash.
Before the sorcerer could react, Aiden broke through to his side with the speed of a gust of wind, and plunged the flaming dagger directly into his chest.
The dagger pierced three inches into his chest, and red flames seeped into the wound.
"How is this possible?" The wizard apprentices present were dumbfounded, their mouths agape.
Especially the wizard apprentice who was hit head-on by Aiden, he felt his whole body go numb, and his legs went weak and he almost knelt on the ground.
He looked at his chest, his eyes trembling slightly.
There was a red hole in his chest, from which blood was constantly flowing. The blood evaporated into red mist as soon as it touched his skin, and his whole body felt burning hot, as if he were being roasted by fire.
He tried to shout, but no sound came out.
Aiden pressed his advantage, flicking his wrist to draw his Flame Dagger and deliver several more blows, each one striking a vital spot.
Before the sorcerer could even cast a new spell, Aiden shredded him into pieces, the pieces of flesh falling to the ground, and his entire body burning in the garden.
"Wow, this is amazing! So this is the true power of a runemaster? This magic resistance is much stronger than I imagined."
"That kid's unlucky; he just happened to be using fire magic, which I can't counter."
Aiden looked at the small dagger in his hand with some disbelief and said, "The wizard's defense is still too weak, especially for a wizard apprentice like this. In an emergency, he definitely can't release any magic. He's no different from an ordinary person. My defense is just too strong."
The wind blew over, carrying smoke from the burning corpses, and Aiden fanned it with his sleeve.
He tucked the dagger into his waistband, his fingers still trembling, not from fear, but from excitement.
"How is this possible? This kid is weird, run!" The short wizard apprentice rode his magic broom and turned to run, leaving a trail of smoke at the end of the broom.
He never expected that his senior brother would be instantly killed by Aiden in a single move, and that Aiden would use fighting techniques that resembled those between ordinary people. How could this be?!
The witch's face was blank, like a sheet of paper; her brain had completely shut down. She stood motionless, forgetting even to ride her broom, her hand still pointing at Aiden.
Aiden shook his head, a hint of disdain in his eyes, and pulled out his bow and arrow, using the Eagle's Wings Technique.
The cry of a hawk was heard, and then several arrows flew toward the two of them as if they had eyes.
One of them blew the witch's head off, the arrow piercing her skull, and red and white substances splattered out.
The other arrows caught up with the fleeing sorcerer at incredible speed, piercing his chest and penetrating his body.
Watching the two figures fall into the garden, the witch's broom overturned on the ground, while the short wizard's broom was still spinning in the air. Aiden shook his head and said, "Pathetic."
His voice was soft, yet it carried a strong sense of confidence.
"I was too cautious, too cautious that I forgot my own strength." Ever since Aiden learned about the Elemental Trials, he had always imagined his rivals as the wizard apprentices at the top of the talent rankings.
At the very least, she must be a genius witch like Lanica, who practices every day how to deal with their witchcraft.
But it was only when he fought against others that he discovered his methods were completely beyond the imagination of these wizards.
More importantly, they were no match for him at all.
Aiden treated the previous battle as just a minor incident and let Xiaodie rummage through their corpses.
Little Butterfly's tentacles rummaged quickly through each corpse, her movements swift and meticulous. Every now and then, she would pull something out of her pocket and stuff it into her storage space, her little body constantly busy.
Aiden squatted on the ground, his fingers deftly pulling up the last few flowers by the roots and carefully placing them into the cloth bag at his waist, afraid of accidentally damaging the petals.
"It came so easily; it seems resource points are still quite scarce," Aiden muttered to himself.
He stood up, patted the dirt off his hands, and unconsciously smiled, clearly in a good mood.
Soon, the spatial butterfly, Little Butterfly, wobbled over again and began to report to Aiden on its loot.
Little Butterfly flapped her wings rapidly, her two front legs gesturing incessantly as she laid out the items she had found in front of Aiden one by one.
The little head even shook proudly, its whiskers sticking up.
"Less than 300 magic stones in total? A bunch of poor bastards." Aiden said irritably after hearing this.
He curled his lip, looking disgusted, and slung the cloth bag over his shoulder.
Aiden shook his head, mounted his magic broom, and left the garden that had appeared out of nowhere.
I randomly picked a direction and flew towards it.
The broom glided low over the ground, kicking up a trail of dust, and the outline of the garden grew smaller and smaller behind us until it disappeared completely.
It came into view.
This is a desert that suddenly appeared, with yellow sand stretching as far as the eye can see, and the distance is hazy, so nothing can be seen clearly.
The howling wind whipped up large amounts of sand and gravel.
As Aiden rode his magic broom past, he discovered dozens of wizard apprentices in the middle of the desert.
These wizard apprentices fought while riding on magical brooms.
A dazzling array of colorful magic spells crisscrossed in the air, including red fire, green wood, and yellow earth, and the resulting shockwaves sent sand flying high into the air.
The entire desert was shaking, and the sand was riddled with large craters blasted out by witchcraft.
He didn't recognize most of them, but he did see people from the wizarding organizations Mountain Fury and Forest Echoes, which were his rivals.
Aiden squinted and slowed down the broom.
He hovered in mid-air, arms crossed over his chest, looking relaxed as if watching a show, observing the chaotic battle below with great interest.
"Nasser, where do you think you're going? Tell me honestly, did you obtain the Crystal Ganoderma?" A figure riding a magical...
The burly man with the broom, the wizard of the wrath of the mountains, laughed.
The burly man had a face full of scars, a robust build, and a wide grin that revealed a set of white teeth.
As he spoke, he hurled a shard of earth-elemental rock at the wizard who was engaged in battle.
The pebbles were as big as millstones, covered with a thick layer of yellowish-brown light, and they whistled through the air at an astonishing speed.
The air was compressed by the punch, producing a sharp whistling sound, and the sand on the ground was blown away by the force of the punch, flying everywhere and forming an arc-shaped sand wave.
"Thranduil, I told you, we haven't found a single Crystal Ganoderma yet," the skinny wizard, whose voice echoed through the forest as he was being chased, said with a grim expression.
Narcissus's face turned bright red, veins bulging on his forehead, and he gripped his wand tightly with both hands.
Two emerald green vines suddenly shot out from the tip of the wand, with tiny leaves still attached to them. They wrapped around the pebbles and twisted them violently, shattering the pebbles into pieces.
Clearly, Natherus, echoing through the forest, was no match for Thranduil, the wrath of the mountains.
The magical broom that Natherus was riding was already trembling, and the protective light at the tail of the broom was flickering, as if it would go out at any moment.
His magic was clearly about to give out, and his hand holding the wand was trembling.
"We've trained together on our previous journeys, and you don't even want to spare me?" Narcissus said angrily.
His voice was trembling, clearly choked with sobs, his eyes were red-rimmed, and his chest was heaving violently. Every word he uttered seemed to require all his strength.
"That was ten years ago, but this is ten years later. Since you have no clue about the Crystal Ganoderma, I have no choice but to kill you and exchange you for points in the organization." The burly man Thranduil shook his head, unmoved.
Thranduil's expression was as cold as a stone, without the slightest fluctuation. He slowly raised his wand again, the tip of the wand steadily pointing at Narcissus, his eyes full of indifference.
Not far away, Aiden watched their battle and muttered to himself, "The people from the Wizarding Organization Mountain Fury look quite domineering, and their strength is not bad either."
