The Wizard: Starting with Infinite Part-Time Jobs

Chapter 121 Ambiguity, Dark Magic Trap

"Aiden, the time you go back will be about the same as when you came. You should rest well in your room these days," Senior Sister Iseli said with a smile.

The sea breeze blew past the two of them, carrying a salty, damp feeling, making their robes cling to their bodies and then loosen again.

A few strands of Iseley's long hair were lifted by the wind. She reached out and tucked the stray hairs behind her ear, a smile playing on her lips. She looked very relaxed.

"No problem, I need to sort out my findings too."

Aiden stretched his shoulders, his knuckles making a slight cracking sound.

The intense assessments over the past few days have left his muscles a little sore, but he is actually very excited and in much better shape than when he first arrived.

He found that under pressure, he had a much better grasp of the panel's rise than before.

"I estimate that after I go back and train for a while longer, I'll see a significant improvement in all my professions," Aiden muttered to himself.

The corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up, and he began to plan his next cultivation session.

……

below.

The dark wizard Satu looked at a male wizard beside him and said, "This newcomer named Aiden is in your hands, is that alright?"

Satu turned to the side, the hem of his black robe swaying in the wind.

His gaze was fixed on the male wizard, and the smile on his face faded, replaced by a serious expression.

"Of course, no problem, Lord Satu. I am a high-ranking wizard apprentice. Dealing with a newcomer to the wizarding world is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut." The wizard was a burly man named Ed.

Ed patted his broad chest with a dull thud, his face full of disdain, as if he didn't take the other person seriously at all.

"Anyway, don't let me down." The black wizard Satu nodded.

Dealing with Aiden was a task assigned by a powerful figure, and even though he was a first-ring wizard, he did not want to slack off in the slightest.

"Then prepare. I've set up a dark magic trap array along their flight path, which will weaken their fighting strength," Satu said.

……

Two days later.

The wooden walls inside the wagon vibrated, emitting a low hum.

Aiden was tidying up his harvest in the room and fed the virtual butterfly in his space a lot of ant meat. Looking at its grown size, he couldn't help but feel gratified.

He then picked up a small piece with his fingers and carefully offered it to Xiaodie's lips.

The butterfly flapped its wings gently twice, its antennae twitched slightly, and it swallowed the whole thing in one gulp.

Aiden looked at it, and the corners of his mouth unconsciously turned up.

"If Xiaodie reaches the level of a first-ring wizard, I'll have someone protecting me."

Just then.

"Dad, there's a dark spatial array outside. It looks like it's coming for you. We'll collide with it soon," Xiaodie said weakly, as if she had sensed something.

Its antennae trembled uneasily, and its six tiny claws gripped Aiden's fingers tightly, its voice so faint it was almost inaudible.

Its wings were folded up, and the whole butterfly curled up into a small ball, looking very nervous.

Aiden was stunned, and almost dropped the ant meat in his hand.

His movements froze instantly, and his eyes widened.

His face immediately darkened, and the slight relief on his face vanished without a trace.

"Someone wants to harm me? There's no reason for that..." Aiden thought to himself.

His fingers clenched unconsciously.

People I've recently been in contact with flashed through my mind, but I couldn't think of anyone who would do something to me.

Who would want to harm him for no reason?

He went through everyone he knew in his mind, but couldn't find anyone suspicious.

"But since Xiaodie reminded me, I can't let my guard down," Aiden muttered to himself.

He took a deep breath, carefully put the remaining ant meat back into the cloth bag, then stood up and strode towards the door.

"I need to tell Senior Sister Iseli."

Aiden pushed open the door. The corridor was quiet, with only the continuous vibrations from the carriages as they flew coming from below.

He walked quickly to Senior Sister Iseli's door and knocked.

"What's wrong? I'm getting dressed." Iseley's voice came from inside the room, along with the rustling sound of fabric.

"Uh!" Aiden waited helplessly outside the room, arms crossed, leaning against the wall.

He didn't expect that his senior sister had a habit of not liking to wear clothes.

This made him a little embarrassed, unsure of where to look, so he just stared blankly at the fluorite on the ceiling.

After a while, the door creaked open.

Soon, the petite and youthful-looking Senior Sister Iselly emerged from the room, dressed in a robe that resembled casual home wear.

Her hair was a little messy, with a few strands hanging down her side. Her robe was loosely draped over her shoulders, and the collar was askew, revealing a small patch of her collarbone.

She rubbed her eyes, looking like she had just woken up, and her steps were still a little unsteady.

Aiden swallowed hard, unmoved.

He looked away, staring at the wall across the corridor, forcing himself not to look at it anymore.

His Adam's apple bobbed up and down.

"Senior sister, our return route is fixed, right? Should we check if it's safe outside the route?" Aiden said.

He tried his best to make his tone sound normal, but his voice still betrayed his nervousness.

"Why are you asking this out of the blue?" Senior Sister Iseli tilted her head, crossed her arms, and asked with a hint of confusion.

"You mentioned dark wizards before, and I think they're all very dangerous. If they try to attack us on the way, we'll be in trouble," Aiden said seriously.

He couldn't say that Xiaodie had obtained the information, so he could only find a reason to bring it up.

Senior Sister Iseli gave Aiden a deep look and said, "Then, let me see if your guess is correct."

Her expression turned serious.

His previous languid demeanor vanished instantly, and his entire aura changed. It was as if he were a completely different person.

"Judging from the current situation of the carriage, we are still quite safe."

Senior Sister Iseli knew that Aiden was a cautious person, so she couldn't help but become cautious as well.

Soon, she pulled out a blue magic wand and began to tap it lightly in the air.

A pale blue halo emanated from the tip of the wand, its light standing out conspicuously in the dimly lit corridor.

Each tap leaves a tiny blue trace in the air that lingers, like a line drawn with a pen.

Those traces intertwined, forming a complex pattern.

A white crystal ball appeared and hovered between the two.

A miniature version of a carriage is located in the center, surrounded by mountains, rivers, and forests that are clearly visible on a small map.

The crystal ball spun slowly, emitting a soft hum.

Aiden's eyes widened.

This crystal ball looks somewhat like a dashcam.

You can see the scene near the chariot. The image on the sphere is constantly rotating, capturing the surrounding terrain.
