Chapter 54 The Final Battle Begins
Faced with the bullets fired by Obadiah's Iron Monger, Sherlock, who had already completed his physical enhancement, did not dodge. He simply looked at Obadiah with disdain and raised one hand slightly.
No, to be more precise, Sherlock only extended one finger.
But this single finger managed to stop the barrage of bullets aimed at him like a storm. It was as if there was an invisible barrier in front of Sherlock's outstretched finger, and almost anything that came into contact with the barrier was directly broken down into the most basic atoms.
"Alchemy - Decomposition of All Things!"
As Sherlock's voice rang out, countless atoms reacted with various elements in the air in an instant, so much so that Sherlock, who was standing behind the invisible barrier, was even coated with a layer of green smoke-like light.
With these amazing particle effects, Sherlock seems to have emerged from an abyss filled with venom.
Obadiah wasn't stupid. After a tentative attack with his gun, he quickly stopped, his eyes wide open beneath his armor, seemingly unable to believe what he was seeing.
It's important to understand that even when Tony faces his bullets, although they won't be fatal, the impact of the bullets is still there. Relying on the impact force, he can at least use his firearms as an auxiliary weapon when fighting Tony.
But Sherlock before us has broken this rule, and it could even be said that he has directly rendered all of Obadiah's Iron Monger's ranged weapons ineffective.
Only now did Obadiah take a proper look at the seemingly frail 'human' in front of him, who had no armor.
Despite his surprise, Obadiah did not back down because of the unknown. Seeing that the weapon was no longer effective against Sherlock, Obadiah chose a very foolish way to fight.
Of course, the stupidity is relative to Sherlock's perspective. After all, in Obadiah's view, when the weapon is ineffective, what he should rely on most, or what he has always been proud of, is the Iron Monger's tonnage and its enormous strength!
It was for this reason that, after testing Sherlock, Obadiah charged at Sherlock with almost no hesitation, dragging his heavy body along.
As he approached Sherlock, Obadiah made Iron Monger jump almost without hesitation, attempting to strike Sherlock directly with his own weight and the force of his punch.
Facing the Iron Monger charging towards him like a dump truck, Sherlock showed no intention of dodging. Instead, he took a stance, firmly planted his feet, and when faced with Obadiah's iron fist, which was the size of a basketball, Sherlock threw a punch at Obadiah's fist in return.
Boom!
When two fists that were completely disproportionate and not even symmetrical in terms of material collided, a loud bang erupted from the point of contact, kicking up a cloud of dust.
Spiderweb-like cracks appeared on the ground beneath Sherlock's feet, and Obadiah's face inside the Iron Monger turned to terror in an instant.
The reason is simple: as the person involved, Obadiah could almost immediately feel that he was at a disadvantage in terms of strength the moment their fists made contact.
This left Obadiah in disbelief, and almost instantly all that disbelief turned into fear.
It's no exaggeration to say that Obadiah clearly understood at this moment that the armor he was so proud of, which he even thought was invincible, was practically no different from paper to Sherlock.
The immense fear of death, or rather, failure, almost instantly overwhelmed Obadiah's mind, causing his body to react instinctively.
After exchanging a punch with Sherlock, the Iron Monger did not hesitate at all and used the momentum to jump backward. Before the Iron Monger even landed, flames began to shoot out from the jets on its back.
"You're only trying to run now? My dear Uncle Obadiah, isn't it a bit too late?"
The moment Sherlock saw flames appearing behind and beneath Obadiah, who hadn't even landed yet, he understood Obadiah's meaning and sneered at him from a distance with a mocking smile.
As Sherlock finished speaking, he slammed both of his hands hard onto the ground.
"Alchemy - Material Transformation - Five Dragons' Demise!"
Crimson lightning flashed, and five enormous hexagonal pillars, each nearly two people could encircle, rose from the ground beside Sherlock, like five giant dragons, and charged towards Obadiah, who had just taken off.
Meanwhile, Obadiah, who had just taken off, saw this scene and his face behind the mask was contorted with rage. Without any hesitation, he controlled Iron Monger to unleash almost all of its ammunition at the five dragon-like giant stone pillars.
It was obvious that whether it was bullets, shells, or even missiles, trying to stop those stone pillars that resembled five giant dragons was a pipe dream, and they couldn't even delay them.
Obadiah, who had just taken off, was knocked down by the five stone pillars with almost no chance to resist.
Boom!
As Obadiah's Iron Monger landed, its immense weight smashed into the ground, kicking up clouds of dust. The five dragon-like stone pillars, however, did not let Obadiah off the hook and charged toward the Iron Monger's massive body.
When the smoke and dust cleared, the Iron King was firmly fixed to the ground in a large "X" shape by five stone pillars.
Unexpectedly, the five stone pillars did not harm the Iron King; they merely held it in place by their own weight and flexibility.
Even so, it was enough to drive Obadiah, hiding inside the Iron Monger, to despair.
Obadiah roared inside the Iron Monger, frantically maneuvering the joystick, trying to break free from Sherlock's control. But it was clear that all efforts were in vain; Sherlock's alchemy was something the Iron Monger could not break free from.
"Don't bother. These five giant pillars can be altered at will by my alchemy, both in weight and material. In other words, your armor will never escape my grasp!"
Just as Obadiah was struggling frantically, Sherlock's voice appeared beside him at some point, and it was only then that Obadiah was surprised to find that Sherlock was standing on top of his Iron Monger chest.
"What...what are you going to do? Sherlock! I was wrong! I surrender! I give up! You can't kill me! I surrender!"
In a fit of immense terror, Obadiah almost screamed at Sherlock. His voice, amplified by the machine's loudspeakers, was exceptionally hoarse, yet it was insufficient to elicit any sympathy from Sherlock.
Sherlock squatted down and patted the Iron Monger's tightly closed scalpel with a smile, saying...
"No, Obadiah, you don't recognize your mistakes, nor do you have any intention of surrendering. You only know that you are going to die."
