Marvel: The Alchemist Just Wants a Peaceful Life.
Chapter 1 The Boy Who Became an Alchemist
In the early morning, on the soft bed, the boy, who was sleeping sprawled out, frowned slightly, seemingly quite dissatisfied with the sunlight streaming in through the window.
In the end, the chaotic yet beautiful dream could not withstand the blinding sunlight. The boy opened his eyes groggily, sat up slowly, and stared blankly for a while before rubbing his eyes and yawning.
After looking around at the standard American-style decor, the boy seemed to finally wake up. He stretched and then slowly opened the door to the kitchen, scratching his butt as he dawdled, intending to have a drink of water before his daily morning ritual of using the toilet.
Throughout, the boy exuded a relaxed air that no animal could match, and the source of this relaxed air was, needless to say, the long string of numbers lying in his bank account!
After quickly cleaning up the overnight trash, the young man washed up and looked in the mirror at his handsome Eurasian face, which resembled that of Daniel Wu. He smiled and nodded, then went back to the kitchen to make himself a cup of coffee and sat down in the study.
With a wave of his hand, a huge magic book, about 20 inches long and as thick as a fist, appeared in front of the boy. The book was written in English and read "Alchemy, from Beginner to Tomb"!
That's right, the boy is a time traveler. In his previous life, he was a typical overworked office worker who had to work long hours and worry about layoffs and unemployment.
This ordinary person was unexpectedly transported into the ranks of time travelers one morning while sitting on the toilet by a stroke of incredible luck.
Even now, the boy still can't understand how Dayun could appear precisely in the bathroom of his rented room on the third floor while shouting that we are all living life to the fullest.
Fortunately, although the process was a bit outrageous, the result was good. The office worker inherited a body named Sherlock, and with his parents' sacrifice, he successfully achieved financial freedom with the huge insurance payout and the inheritance left by his wealthy parents, which can be considered as fulfilling his wish.
As for the alchemy book on the table, without a doubt, this thing is Sherlock's cheat code!
The content covers everything from the kind of alchemy in Fullmetal Alchemist where you can summon anything by clapping your hands and shouting to the kind of alchemy in Harry Potter that can create all sorts of items.
Although the first chapter of this book begins with a standard periodic table of chemical elements, which may seem somewhat absurd, after Sherlock spent five years researching it, he can now confidently tell everyone that he is an extremely skilled alchemist.
So much so that studying the knowledge in the book every day has become a must for Sherlock. After all, no one can resist such a learning process that can provide immediate feedback. The saying "knowledge is power" is perfectly embodied in this book.
"It's unbelievable, Sherlock, that you would get up so early and then sit here so quietly reading a book."
Just as Sherlock was engrossed in the book, a pleasant and slightly ethereal female voice suddenly appeared behind him. Surprisingly, Sherlock didn't seem surprised at all.
Sherlock calmly closed the spellbook in front of him, then turned to look at the figure standing in front of the cabinet, grinning at him, and said irritably.
"Ancient One, is your Sorcerer Supreme really not busy at all? This is the third time this month that you've shown up here without warning!"
Faced with Sherlock's sarcastic remarks, the Ancient One seemed extremely surprised and chuckled as she spoke to Sherlock.
"I thought the light from my portal was bright enough that you should have noticed it long ago."
Hearing the Ancient One's words, Sherlock was completely bewildered, but he had no way to refute them. He could only look at the Ancient One with a speechless expression and roll his eyes.
As for why Sherlock would know the Ancient One, this is a problem that even time travelers have to face.
It's very simple, because the Ancient One appeared in front of Sherlock on the very first day he traveled through time!
However, unlike Sherlock's expectations of expulsion and interrogation, the Ancient One did not take action after appearing. Instead, her first words to Sherlock were a cheerful greeting.
"Would you like to come to Kamar-Taj and become the Sorcerer Supreme?"
Sherlock's answer to the Ancient One's question was, "No!"
Although it might sound somewhat surprising, Sherlock never considered borrowing magic power at the cost of his soul. Moreover, with this alchemy manual, his future achievements might not be inferior to those melee mages, so he naturally wouldn't agree.
Despite this, the Ancient One did not expel Sherlock. Instead, she often used the pretext of monitoring Sherlock, an outsider, to observe his alchemy. Over time, the two have become friends.
Having long since figured out Sherlock's sullen temperament, the Ancient One wasn't angry at the speechless expression on Sherlock's face. Instead, she chuckled and asked Sherlock that classic question once again.
"Are you really not going to come to Kamar-Taj to inherit my position? That's the Sorcerer Supreme!"
Hearing the Ancient One's words, Sherlock's speechless expression deepened. After waving his hand and making the spellbook on the table disappear, Sherlock said to the Ancient One in an annoyed tone.
"This is the 5236th time you've asked me this in the last five years, and my answer remains the same: No! I don't want my soul to serve those monsters in the universe after I die!"
The Ancient One's smile remained unchanged in the face of Sherlock's statement, as if this conversation had happened countless times before. She simply shifted her gaze to Sherlock's right arm, stared at it for a while, and then smiled mysteriously.
"But didn't you also sacrifice yourself for the truth?"
Sherlock looked helpless at the Ancient One's statement, rolled his eyes in annoyance, and retorted to her.
"Don't tell me that the Sorcerer Supreme can't distinguish between 'truth' and those monsters!"
Faced with Sherlock's words, the Ancient One could only sigh helplessly. With a wave of her hand, a lot of breakfast from the rabbit's side appeared on Sherlock's desk. Sherlock didn't stand on ceremony and ate the breakfast that the Ancient One had brought him. Then he mumbled something to the Ancient One.
"You should understand that my 'truth' is essentially closer to the so-called 'Way of Heaven.' It has no direction and only follows the 'rules.' The so-called human figure you see is just an abstract concept that 'truth' has created to help you understand it."
"So, you attempted that forbidden human transmutation technique, paying the price of an arm and an eye, solely to see 'Truth' one last time, just to create a pet for yourself?"
As soon as the Ancient One finished speaking, a small portal opened, and a small pink-haired figure quickly ran out from the other side of the portal in an extremely comical and abstract pose, throwing herself directly into Sherlock's arms.
