FATE: Target of Grand Master
Chapter 525 Gray Golem
Skadi was the first to make a move.
Three circles of runes appeared around her. Then, dozens of rockets and ice spikes appeared around Skadi. Fire counters ice, and ice counters fire. These attacks could not completely defeat Surt, but they could suppress the magical output of her two halves of her body.
Morgan wasn't idle either; he condensed his magic on his cross wand, transforming it into a giant sword, and slashed straight at Surut.
Surut swung his left and right hands, sweeping Skadi's attacks with his flaming greatsword and parrying Morgan's attacks with his frost greatsword.
Boom boom boom boom boom!
Although Skadi and Morgan made bold claims, neither of them were at their peak, and their attacks were naturally all blocked by the fully-formed Surtur. Even "Ophelia" on his shoulder did not activate her Mystic Eyes.
"It seems I overestimated you all."
Surut revealed a mocking smile.
"Wei! Let's teach it a lesson!"
Anastasia's voice suddenly rang out, and the two blue eyes of the shadowy figure behind her flashed with a dazzling light. A blizzard swept towards Surut.
"Don't you understand? Neither fire nor ice can affect me."
Surtur used Fenrir's power to cut the blizzard in half with a single sword strike.
Seeing the helpless expressions on the faces of the three Lostbelt Kings before him, Surtr declared, "The end is inevitable; it is our destined fate. The Norse gods could not stop it then, and you cannot stop it now. This entertainment is over. Out of respect, I will personally destroy you! Noble Phantasm!"
"Go, Adam!"
Just as Surt was about to unleash his Noble Phantasm again to destroy everything in front of him, a gray golem as tall as Surt rose from the ground. Countless runes were engraved on its body, and it held a huge obsidian sword in its hand.
"What are you?"
For some reason, Surtur felt threatened by this giant golem, a feeling he hadn't experienced when confronting three Lostbelt King-level Servants simultaneously.
"This is my Noble Phantasm, the Crown: Light of Wisdom, a magical puppet created specifically to defeat you, Surtr. Of course, please forgive me for keeping the specifics of its specialization a secret."
Avisbro's voice came from below, but Surut's eyes remained fixed on the giant gray puppet.
"A mere puppet dares to presume to stop me, the End Device? How utterly overconfident!"
Surut launched the first attack, shooting two beams of fire from his eyes.
However, the fire ray did not touch the gray golem. Instead, it spread outwards as if it had touched an invisible shield in front of the golem and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
Seeing the light emanating from the runes engraved on the gray puppet, Surut understood.
"Skadi! It's you! You've cast a special fire-resistant defense on this puppet!"
Skadi's lips curled slightly. Although Surut was right, she wasn't going to explain anything to the enemy.
Just as Surut was about to launch another attack, he was punched squarely in the face by the gray puppet.
Staggering back several steps, causing the ground to tremble, Surut stared incredulously at the gray puppet in front of him.
This guy actually managed to hurt himself?
How is that possible!
My own mystery is far greater than that of this puppet, and I also have the advantage of being native to it. How could I possibly be hit by an attack before I could even react!
However, before Surt could figure it out, the gray puppet threw another punch, landing squarely on the other side of Surt's face.
"asshole!"
A flame of rage ignited within Surut, and it decided to temporarily abandon its thoughts and destroy the gray puppet before it.
The fiery and frost greatswords slashed out in succession, but both were blocked by the obsidian sword in the gray golem's hand.
Why?
"How could a mere puppet block my attack?"
"Even those three Lostbelt King-level Servants couldn't do that!"
Suddenly realizing something, the enraged Surut turned to look in the direction where Morgan, Skadi, and Anastasia were.
"You've poured most of your power into this puppet!"
Seeing that Surut had seen through him, Morgan stopped trying to hide it.
"That's right. Otherwise, how could our attack be so weak and ineffective? However, I advise you not to get distracted."
"roar!!!"
The gray puppet gathered magic power in its mouth and then fired a magic ray at Surtur's head.
Surut was unable to dodge in time, and half of his head was destroyed by the gray puppet's magic ray.
Before Surtur's head was fully repaired, the gray puppet slammed two punches into Surtur's chest, causing him to feel a dull ache.
The fully-formed Surtur is actually extremely powerful, which goes without saying, but unfortunately, he encountered Xia Yan and Augustus.
If it were just either of the two, Surtr wouldn't be in such a passive position, but the fact that their Servants were together created an unimaginable chemistry.
Take the gray puppet as an example. It was originally the Noble Phantasm of Augustus's Servant Avisbro. After being modified by him and Augustus, its core is now Yennefer, which is a significant improvement in performance compared to using a magician as the core.
Subsequently, Skadi's runes were inscribed on its body, granting it resistance to fire and ice and acknowledging it as a native mystery, thus bestowing upon it the blessing of the homeland.
Anastasia, on the other hand, had Vyfen give the gray golem a large amount of magic power, making its magic power more abundant and temporarily granting it the attributes of a fairy.
Finally, Morgan used magic to enhance its magical output power and magical recovery efficiency from top to bottom, and cast a spell that automatically activates power enhancement when it releases an attack as a fairy.
With so many Servants supporting him, it's no wonder that the Grey Puppet was able to blast Surtur's head apart with a single shot.
"Unforgivable!"
With his mind restored, Surtr was no longer as calm and composed as before. He raised both the flaming and icy greatswords, preparing to unleash two Noble Phantasms almost simultaneously with a negligible time difference.
The gray puppet raised its obsidian sword and thrust it towards Surt's heart.
Both attacks can deliver a fatal blow to each other; it all comes down to whose attack will land first.
"Ophelia!"
Surtur was confident of victory because it possessed the "Delayed Eye".
However, this time, "Ophelia" on her shoulder did not respond.
It wasn't that Ophelia was unwilling to respond, but rather that she was no longer able to.
The still-unrecovered Musashi stepped on the black spear summoned by the still-unrecovered Ereshkigal and silently flew to Surtr's shoulder, slaying "Ophelia" on the Giant King's shoulder at the most crucial moment.
