Did the villainous professor survive today?

Chapter 48 The Secrets of the Holy Kingdom

"Professor Kroenke won."

After Abraham announced the results.

Krenk let out a deep breath.

Amidst the murmurs of everyone, he had already summoned Alice's soul, which was unknowingly absorbing the blood overflowing from her body, and disguising itself as someone who was recycling the blood.

Since the blood has come into contact with the raindrops, directly absorbing it back into the body might have side effects. It would be better to let Alice act as a medium to "purify" the blood.

He glanced out of the corner of his eye at the sword in his hand.

Several extremely fine cracks appeared on the original blade.

"Sorry, I broke your sword."

Kroenke approached the shocked crowd, found Anna who had lent him the sword, and gave her an apologetic smile.

"The Ludwig family will cover the repair and maintenance costs. Just send the bill to them. If you're not familiar with the process, I can take care of it and personally deliver the repaired sword to your door."

Anna looked at Krenk in front of her, her face flushed, and all the words she had prepared vanished. After a long silence, she managed to utter only one word:

"……good."

So handsome, so amazing, and so gentlemanly—it's just too unfair!

After taking the sword, Krenk turned to look at Alyssa, who was standing there in a daze:

"What are you standing there for? The rain is getting heavier, let's go back to the banquet hall."

Alyssa was pulled back to reality by Kroenke's voice and sobbed.

If Krenk had only won by a small margin, she could have made excuses like being young and inexperienced, or having low purity of magic, to deceive herself.

But now Krenk has smashed the puppet to pieces, using a random sword instead of a precious wand.

This is tantamount to telling her directly that you are no good.

Thinking of this, Alyssa burst into tears, wiping her eyes and running off in another direction without looking back.

"Elisa!"

Alyssa's sister, Aurora, reached out to try and persuade her to stay.

"Aurora, go find your sister first."

Enya's father, Anthony, gave the instructions.

He approached Professor Krenk, his tone humble:

"I'm so sorry, Professor Krenk, my daughter is being silly and has caused you trouble."

"Um."

Kroenke simply gave a faint "hmm."

"Your daughter is outstanding. Please take good care of her. Even though she comes from a peaceful and prosperous family, she still has your blood in her veins and longs for your approval."

Klenk refers to Enya.

"Yes, Professor Klenk, thank you for your guidance."

To show his sincerity, Anthony immediately turned and walked in another direction without looking back, where his daughter Enya was standing far away, looking at Krenk with a bewildered expression.

Upon seeing Anthony approach, Enya immediately displayed a flustered expression:

"dad……"

"Enya, I also chatted with Professor Krenk for a while," Anthony said with a sincere expression.

"Thinking about it, I did neglect taking care of you back then because I was worried about damaging the family's reputation."

"……Um."

Enya took a half step back.

"Um, did you need something from when you contacted me earlier?" Anthony asked.

"Um."

"What is it?"

"Um, Dad," Enya cautiously observed her father's gaze, and after noticing the kind smile still on his face, she said timidly.

"I would like to borrow your family's laboratory for my studies."

"Oh, this? No problem."

Anthony chuckled and scratched the back of his head.

"Oh, it's such a small thing, you can just mention it. I'll arrange it right away, don't worry, I'll have it for you tomorrow."

After receiving an affirmative answer, Enya suddenly felt an immense sadness and bitterness seeping into her nostrils, as if she were slowly being submerged by water.

Things that I never dared to dream of before are now readily available.

She lowered her head, pursed her lips, and said something to someone else, without saying a word:

"Th...thank you."

You have significantly increased Enya's trust in you.

……

"Professor Kroenke, do you really think this is a good idea?"

As he watched everything unfolding in the distance, a female voice suddenly appeared beside Krenk.

Krenk turned his head and noticed that the Third Princess, Isabel, had appeared beside him at some point, with her attendant, Lora, holding a black umbrella for her behind her.

"Greetings, Your Highness."

Kroenke immediately adopted a respectful posture.

"Professor, you don't need to act like this when you see me in the future. In the academy, our relationship is that of teacher and student."

"Yes, Your Highness, is there anything I can do for you today?"

"I originally wanted to consult the professor about some minor matters, but now I think it's unnecessary."

Isabel waved her hand, her gaze fixed intently on Enya and her father in the distance, and asked like a student,

"That father didn't genuinely want to be good to his daughter; it was because of you, right?"

"right."

Kroenke nodded.

"Because Enya is my teaching assistant, that's why that father showed his loving side to his daughter whom he had never loved before, because he wanted to use Enya to climb the social ladder through my relationship."

"Isn't that cruel?"

Isabel's eyes became vacant again.

"In a house that will never be a home, calling strangers who share the same blood as you family—this false love will one day burst like a bubble."

"But how many people could possibly crave this kind of false love?" Krenk murmured.

"Even so, she is still my student, and as her teacher, I will try my best to help her get through this."

"That's wonderful, Professor Krenk. Your words remind me of my brother." Isabel looked up at the gloomy sky, where the rain was gradually getting heavier.

"elder brother?"

Kroenke paused for a moment.

In the original owner's memories, the Pope of the Holy Kingdom only had three daughters.

When did we get another son?

"Ahem!"

Lora, who was holding the umbrella behind her, coughed twice to indicate that Isabel had said too much.

The next second, Isabel withdrew her empty gaze and gave Krenk a perfectly standard courtly smile:

"I'm sorry, Professor, I overstated things."

Looking at Isabel's smile, Kroenke suddenly fell into thought.

Judging from the behavior of the princess's attendants, the Holy Kingdom does not want this prince to be known by outsiders.

However, according to the laws of the Holy Kingdom, sons have priority over daughters in inheritance.

Now that the Pope is getting old, it's time to consider the matter of a successor.

But why has this prince disappeared without a trace?

Or perhaps something happened in the Holy Kingdom?

Because this matter is so significant, even if this prince is the successor to the next pope, should we try every means to erase the traces of his existence?

Krenk searched his memories of his past and present lives for information related to the Holy Kingdom.

Even if a rebellion is launched due to various conflicts, the Holy Kingdom will not completely erase the relevant information, but will record it in the annals of history.

There is only one possibility.

Even if outsiders knew of this prince's name, it would become a stain on the Holy Kingdom.

So the answer is clear...

Faith has degenerated!

As the successor to the pope, he went astray and became a heretic.

If that's the case, then the Holy Kingdom would never allow outsiders to know of this prince's existence.

If such news were to spread, it would be nothing short of a major earthquake in the Holy Kingdom's millennia-long history of religious rule.

"Your Highness, please allow me to take my leave." Krenk knew it was time for him to go.

"Well, goodbye, Professor Krenk. I look forward to seeing you again next week for a private lesson."

Goodbye, Your Highness.

Kroenke turned and walked toward the banquet hall.
