"I left this at work today," Bruce carefully tucked his hands to his sides.

"Hold out your hand, I'll treat it for you, otherwise you won't be able to do anything tomorrow."

Li Xiao frowned. How could working a job turn his hands into giant hands?

Bruce sighed and held out his hand. Li Xiao took out a silver needle and inserted it into the tiger's mouth and Hegu acupoints. Bruce didn't even feel any pain when the needle tip pierced into the flesh.

The swelling in the hands is simply due to the cell membranes becoming saturated with water and unable to drain it. In most cases, it will recover on its own, but Bruce's hands are in much more severe condition, which is probably because he doesn't wear gloves.

After a few stitches, Bruce's fingers dripped water, which dripped down between his fingers, and his swollen palms visibly deflated, looking rather unsightly, like a crumpled sponge.

"This is traditional Chinese medicine," Li Xiao said, removing the needles and carefully wiping the area with a tissue. "It's a very common technique, don't be alarmed."

"No... thank you, Mr. Li Xiao!" The words he was about to say were abruptly changed. Bruce looked somewhat embarrassed. "I feel much better."

After speaking, Bruce wiggled his fingers and didn't feel any itching or swelling.

"Just call me by my name. Are you planning to keep working illegally?" Li Xiao sat in the passenger seat and leaned back. "After deducting your gas costs and daily expenses, this is far from enough to buy you weapons."

To be honest, Li Xiao didn't expect Bruce to stoop to doing illegal work. Most Americans value their dignity more than their lives.

"I'll try to find other jobs," Bruce said, leaning back in his chair and rubbing his temples. "If possible, I wouldn't mind selling some blood or being a guinea pig; that would get the money back faster."

"If you ruin your health, I won't cooperate with you anymore. You'll have to take revenge on your own." Li Xiao felt it necessary to remind him. Was this guy only capable of using his own body as a guinea pig?

Bruce was silent for a few seconds, then nodded.

"Come to my house tomorrow, and my cousin will show you around to see if there are any suitable jobs." Li Xiao didn't intend to take Bruce to the underground boxing ring, because no one else would benefit from that place except him.

Kara is older than Bruce, but mainly because Bruce acts like a guinea pig who's just starting out in society, compared to the seasoned Kara, he's like a guinea pig.

"Thank you, Li Xiao," Bruce said sincerely. Over the years, he had repeatedly encountered setbacks. Whenever he heard about dealing with cults, everyone would refuse outright out of fear. Only this person was willing to lend him a hand, which warmed his heart. He truly possessed noble character.

"Please be careful. If you don't mind, you can stay at my place for one night."

Bruce shook his head and declined.

Li Xiao didn't hesitate. Bruce thought he didn't want to trouble others. This kind of person was very stubborn. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been willing to sell himself for his parents' revenge. Li Xiao nodded and left.

……

Li Xiao quietly entered the room through the window, walked into the living room, leaned back on the sofa, and closed his eyes.

It's still a while until 2 a.m., and he's going to wait here for his cousin to get up. He has a high degree of control over his body and can put himself into a deep sleep at any time, which means he's less troubled by insomnia.

Time was flying by. In his sleep, Li Xiao suddenly heard the sound of glass breaking. A moment later, a pungent smell began to seep into his nostrils.

Li Xiao suddenly woke up to find the entire living room slowly being covered in thick smoke.

What the hell? The house caught fire while I was taking a nap?

Li Xiao was surprised and quickly found the source of the crackling sound. He saw smoke still pouring out of Kara's door crack, with faint orange-yellow flames rising from inside.

Oh no, my cousin might get roasted!

Li Xiao rushed to the door in a few steps. The moment his hand touched the doorknob, the astonishing temperature made him frown. If his physique hadn't been enhanced, his hand would have been burned and peeled off.

With a slight effort of my fingers, the door opened, and the moment I entered, a wave of heat hit me.

Li Xiao fanned away the scorching air, and flames shot into the room. A hole was broken in the window, and the curtains were burned to half their original size. Flames climbed upwards, scorching the ceiling yellow, and the insulation of the electrical wires melted, with the copper cores crackling and emitting blue sparks.

Kara was lying on the bed, her legs wrapped around a polyester blanket, her pink vest pushed up to her chest, revealing glimpses of her cleavage. The firelight flickered on her face, making her look like she had inhaled too much smoke and was unconscious.

Li Xiao stepped forward and pushed her twice, but the latter's head slumped to one side as if she had lost consciousness, and the flames were already spreading towards the headboard. Li Xiao didn't care about anything else, grabbed Kara's arm and hoisted her onto his shoulder, preparing to take her out.

I had only taken a few steps when I heard Kara yawn over my shoulder.

"What... how did a fire spirit end up in our base?"

"Are you alright, cousin?" Li Xiao put her down. Kara stood there, her eyes sparkling as she stared at the flames in the room, as if she had discovered something interesting.

"I'm fine, Karl," Kara reached out and grabbed at the falling sparks. "These are all cute little guys, don't be afraid."

After saying that, she walked towards the crackling, flaming computer desk, and stroked the flames as if they were a cute little dog.

Li Xiao's eyebrows twitched wildly; if she were to hug him, his face would be scorched.

Even he felt uncomfortable at the current temperature; the air was so thin that he was prone to oxygen deficiency if he stayed there for too long.

Whenever I think my cousin is going to go completely off track, she always manages to find something surprising for herself.

Li Xiao was about to drag Kara away when a voice rang in his mind.

[Child of Krypton, you have encountered an unusual elemental being, a fire elemental spirit (in its juvenile form)]

This creature feeds on heat and resides year-round in volcanic craters and underground lava. It was absorbed by Princess Starfire from Tamaran and launched into Lonely Fortress.

[Mission: Drive the fire spirits out of your base]

[Reward: 2 specified attribute points, 1 Flame Sprite Core Fragment (enhances Thermal Vision Ray)]

Li Xiao felt a chill in his heart. He hadn't expected that tonight's accident was actually caused by someone. If he hadn't turned off his super hearing, he could have prevented it in advance.

But there's no point in thinking about it now. He glanced around and sure enough, he saw a broken wine bottle under the windowsill, with remnants of burnt cloth inside.

Just as Kara was about to touch the flames, Li Xiao pulled her away.

"What's wrong, Karl?" Kara turned her head suspiciously. "Are you afraid it will hurt me? Don't worry, our bodies are very resistant to fire."

Kara pounded her chest, her swollen, white breasts surging, and the gauze began to bleed again.

"Cousin, have you forgotten what I said that night?" Li Xiao's face darkened. "Didn't you say you'd listen to my advice in future actions? You've already gone back on your word!"

"Karl, I didn't," Kara said nervously, shaking her hands. "Then I'll go out now and won't play with them anymore, please don't be angry."

"The fire spirits are burning our base," Li Xiao said with an unusually serious expression. "If we let them continue this destruction, we'll both soon be homeless. They're not friends!"
