Marvel: Starting with the forced creation of villainous characters
Chapter 3: The progress bar that's been stuck for 12 years.
Mark, pistol in hand and dragging Ebottan along, struggled to keep up with Mindy's pace.
Mindy, who was in the lead, took down several more bodyguards who came to help, but as more and more people arrived and the firepower became more and more intense, Mindy was temporarily suppressed at the corner of the passage and could not peek out.
"The enemy's firepower is too concentrated; we need to think of a solution," Mindy said to Mark, who had rushed over.
"Snap!"
Mark slapped Apostdan across the face, enduring the pain in his hand, and threatened viciously, "Get your men to retreat right now, and then call a doctor to bandage you up, or you'll die here today."
Terrified by Mark and Mindy, these two reincarnated demons, Ebottan screamed at the top of his lungs, "You bunch of idiots, stop right now! I'm still in their hands!"
The gunfire from the other side didn't stop, and Mark relentlessly urged, "Keep going!"
"Stop it right now!"
"Are you trying to kill me?"
Ebodan shouted for a while longer before the gunfire from the other side stopped, and a woman's voice came from across the way: "You little devils, what do you want?"
Hearing that familiar voice, Apostan felt as if he had grasped a lifeline in a desperate situation, and excitedly said, "It's Gislan, my secretary and girlfriend. You can tell her what you need."
Seeing this, Mark said directly, "Have her call a doctor to stop the bleeding, and then get a wheelchair. You don't want me dragging you around forever, do you?"
Mindy, standing nearby, didn't intervene but instead cautiously observed the situation on the other side.
Since it concerned his own life and treatment, Aiboshidan quickly did as instructed.
A short while later, an elderly white man came over with a first-aid kit and a wheelchair.
"Bandage his wound," Mark said, pointing his gun at the old man.
Out of caution, Mark deliberately stood next to the water sprite, in case the old man was a master and the water sprite could save his life in a critical moment.
The old man nodded and knelt down to calmly treat Apostdan's wound.
Mark dared not let his guard down. The fact that this old man could appear here and become the exclusive doctor on Loli Island was enough to prove that he was definitely not a good person.
After all, the old man didn't look like he was being forced at all.
Eboshidan's face turned pale with pain, and he asked through gritted teeth, "Couldn't you give me some anesthetic?"
Upon hearing this, the doctor paused, glanced thoughtfully at Ebotan, nodded, and then took out a vial of anesthetic from his medical kit.
Epostdan: "???"
Why didn't you use anesthesia sooner?
Eboshidan felt that this bastard might be taking the opportunity to get revenge on him, but the problem was, he hadn't treated him badly, and had even invited him to a party.
Seeing that Eboshi was staring at him with wide eyes, the doctor holding the syringe roughly guessed what the other was thinking and explained helplessly, "If you are given anesthesia, your limbs will become weak, and you probably won't even be able to crawl."
Eboshidan glanced nervously at Mark beside him, afraid that Mark would think he was trying to escape and then fire a burst of bullets at him.
Apostle quickly forced a smile that looked worse than a grimace: "It's okay, as long as I cooperate with this little boy, he'll let me off the hook."
Mark pursed his lips.
This guy, as an intelligence broker, does have a knack for flattery.
After Apostdan's wounds were treated, Mark let the doctor leave. Although the old man was quite old, his fighting ability should be stronger than that of a child like him.
Out of caution, it's best not to keep such hostile "high-end" combat power around.
Mark had Esther push Ebott's wheelchair, then pointed a gun at his head and said, "Take me to your office."
Although Ebotan didn't know why Mark was interested in his office, his life was in Mark's hands, so he could only obediently do as he was told.
"Get your men out of here, and then prepare a plane for us," Mark continued.
Upon seeing this, Epostand nodded quickly.
Mindy cautiously surveyed their surroundings; they were currently inside an underground structure, where there were no sniper positions.
Therefore, they don't have many things to guard against.
The elevator in the underground base leads directly to Epperstein's office, and everyone breathed a sigh of relief after entering the elevator.
Mindy asked curiously, "Mark, why are we going to his office?"
"He should have some information in his office to see what else we don't know about this island. Also, this guy has a lot of political power behind him. For a long time to come, we'll have to go into hiding, so we need money."
Upon hearing this, Eboshidan, who was sitting in a wheelchair, twitched slightly at the corner of his mouth.
The good news is that these two demonic orbs don't seem to be planning to kill themselves.
The bad news is that it seems there's no money in my office, only some gold bars.
The group soon arrived at Ebotan's office. Ebotan's office was simply furnished, with only a desk and two sofas, and basically no other furniture.
Mark glanced at the bulky CRT computer on the desk and threatened Eppert to turn it on.
With his hands limp, Aibotan uttered the computer password. He had originally intended to turn on the computer himself, but because he had been given anesthesia, he couldn't even move his fingers.
"If you want money, there's gold in the safe. You should know, little one, that gold is the real currency," Eboshidan said obsequiously.
Mark pursed his lips and didn't answer Epperton's question.
Gold is indeed a hard currency, but for Mark at his age, money is more convenient than gold.
"Open the safe," Mark continued to threaten.
Although gold is not very convenient, Eboshidan is right, gold is indeed a hard currency.
For his own safety, Eppertham quickly taught Mark how to open the safe.
Perhaps because Mark and his companions were too deceptively old, Ebottan did not suspect their motives, but simply assumed they wanted the money.
After Eboshi opened the safe, Mark pushed Eboshi against the wall and made him face the wall.
Besides some gold bars, the safe also contained some paper documents, which Mark wrapped in a small bookcase.
"Ding~ Progress of turning cause into effect - 1%"
Mark paused for a moment, his hand holding the backpack gleaming with elation.
This damn cheat code is finally starting to work; in fact, it was activated when he was born.
But the progress bar for the cheat code has been stuck at 0% for almost 12 years, and it hasn't moved an inch.
When he first regained his memories, he specifically checked his cheat system, but the progress bar was still not moving.
He was ready to give up his cheat system and become a "normal" Marvel character, but then, unexpectedly, the progress bar started moving.
Overjoyed, Mark immediately opened the system.
