Chapter 47 Goblins are great companions
"Damn it, how could something like this happen?"
Cade pulled on the reins and galloped along, glancing back every now and then.
The goblins behind him were relentlessly pursuing him, and he couldn't shake them off at all.
Something's really not right.
These low-level monsters should have scattered in a panic, but now they seemed to have been ignited by something, charging forward recklessly.
Cade's face looked extremely grim.
He was overjoyed when the young master appointed him to accompany him, thinking it was just a formality.
After all, what's so difficult about getting a slave from a farmer?
Who would have thought I'd run into such a mess?
A goblin riot of this size would require at least a guard to handle.
"Faster!"
Levins's arms trembled as he held Cade, and the arrogance he had shown on the farm was gone.
He had always lived a life of luxury and had never seen a monster attack before.
A figure suddenly popped into his mind.
Unfortunately, I was in such a hurry to escape that I didn't have time to take Linor with me.
That elven slave was the most outstanding plaything he had seen in years; leaving him like this in the carriage, he was most likely not going to survive.
But Levins quickly put this regret behind him.
So what if he's dead? He was just a slave. We can find new playthings when we get back to the manor.
The most important thing right now is to save my life.
"Don't worry, young master, this horse is a top-quality steed; the goblins can't catch it..."
Before Cade could finish speaking, a sharp roar came from behind him.
He looked back and saw several exceptionally large goblins closing the distance between them at an incredible speed.
"Cade, faster!"
Levins saw it too and was startled; all he wanted to do was escape as quickly as possible.
But just then...
A sharp whooshing sound came from the side and behind.
Whoosh!
An arrow struck the hindquarters of the horse beneath them.
The horse reared up on its forelegs and then suddenly came to a stop.
Cade was caught off guard and had to exert all his strength to rein in the horse, preventing the two of them from being thrown off.
He looked back and saw Luo An riding his horse at breakneck speed, quickly catching up and blocking their way.
"Luo An?!"
When Levins saw who it was, he was completely stunned.
This farmer actually dared to chase after us?
"You...you're insane? You shot an arrow at my horse, what were you trying to do?"
Luo An did not reply, but simply nocked another arrow and shot it.
An arrow flew very close to Levins, making him tremble with fear.
"Luo An, how dare you attack a nobleman! What are you trying to do?!"
Roan ignored Levins; the arrow he had just shot was merely meant to scare him.
"It's nothing else, I just want to keep Young Master Levins alive here."
Should we spare his life?
"Do you even know what you're saying?! You lowly commoner dare to threaten a nobleman! That's a capital offense!"
Levins's voice trembled; at this moment, Roan instilled a sense of fear in him.
"Kade, kill him!"
Cade glanced back at what was behind him.
The goblin's figure was getting closer and closer, and it would catch up soon.
He didn't have time to waste on this arrogant brat.
"You're asking for it!"
Cade drew his sword, his horse galloping, and swung it down towards Roan's head.
But Luo An easily dodged this seemingly sure-fire sword strike.
He didn't use any magic; he simply gripped his longsword and slashed forward.
The two quickly engaged in combat.
The more Cade played, the more unexpected things became.
His strength far surpassed that of Luo An, but every strike he made was dodged by Luo An at an extremely fast speed, making it impossible for him to hit.
Luo An always managed to catch him off guard, and the parts of his body not covered by armor had been slashed several times by the sharp blade.
wow~
Another sword came flying, and Cade couldn't dodge in time; his arm was pierced.
Then, a series of slashes came swiftly.
The sword blade pierced through the broken armor and into his abdomen. Cade stiffened and fell off his horse.
"How...how is this possible?"
Cade tried to stop the bleeding from his abdomen with his hand, still holding the longsword in his hand.
He could hardly believe that he, as the squad leader of the guard regiment, had lost to a farm boy.
"Boy, I advise you not to do anything foolish. If you harm young Master Levins, the lord will never let you off!"
Cade invoked the lord's name, hoping to intimidate the audacious young man before him.
"They won't let me go? I'm so scared."
With a smile on his face, Roan approached Levins.
If we don't go all the way and let Levins go back, Brian really won't let him off the hook.
It was because he wanted to use the goblin's name to get rid of Levins that he hadn't chosen to use magic earlier.
The monster attack was a perfect opportunity for Roan.
He had already prepared his explanation.
Although he fought desperately to kill the goblins, there were too many of them, and young Master Levins was unfortunately captured by the goblins.
This is such a sad, regrettable, and heartbreaking thing.
If necessary, Luo An plans to shed a few tears.
"drive!"
Levins panicked completely, grabbed the reins, and prepared to ride away.
Roan didn't give him that chance. Ignoring the fallen Cade, he leaped off his horse, grabbed Levins by the hair, and pulled him off the horse.
Levins struggled frantically, but he couldn't break free at all.
"You lowly commoner, let me go! I am a nobleman!"
Roan punched him in the face, and Livingston immediately deflated.
He tied him to the horse's back, and Roan sat down directly on it. Before the goblins could surround them, he rode off to another location.
Cade was not so lucky. He tried to escape with his wounded body, but he was too slow and was overwhelmed by the swarming goblins.
Roan rode his horse and temporarily shook off the goblins.
He slammed Levins, who was tied to the horse, to the ground.
Levins trembled as he looked down at Roan, his heart filled with endless fear.
He was filled with fear, unable to understand how things had come to this.
"Young Master Levins, why aren't you saying anything?"
Luo An's voice was completely devoid of emotion, extremely quiet.
"Weren't you so arrogant back on my farm? Saying that I, a lowly commoner, couldn't afford the consequences of disobeying you?"
Luo An grabbed his hair and slapped him across the face repeatedly.
"Now, show me how arrogant you can be again?"
"Young master, I really want to know what the consequences you're talking about are?"
Levins wanted to say something, and wanted to use his father's name to threaten the other party.
But the words that came out of his mouth turned into a humble plea.
"Luo...Luo An, I was wrong...Please forgive me...Celia...I don't want her anymore...She belongs to you."
Looking at Levins's obsequious manner, Roan wanted to laugh.
He had assumed that the young master would stand firm and use Brian to put pressure on him.
If that's the case, Luo An might think more highly of him.
Unexpectedly, in the face of death, Levins couldn't stand up straight at all; he completely gave in.
"Young master, it's a good thing to admit your mistakes and correct them."
"If there is a next life, I hope you will remember this lesson."
Luo An did not choose to kill him; it would have been unwise for him to do it himself.
He dragged Levins along as they walked toward the oncoming goblins.
All you have to do is throw Levins into the goblin horde.
Goblins are great partners and will help Roan get rid of the problem with Levins.
"No...don't."
Levins pleaded desperately, saying he didn't want to die here, but his hair was being pulled along and he couldn't break free at all.
"Wow!"
The goblin's cries grew closer and closer, reaching within five meters of Roan.
He lifted Levins up by his hands and threw him into the goblin horde.
"Young Master Levins, goodbye and best of luck."
