Chapter 32 The Slander Society's Imminent Destruction
"Moo~"
The bull strained its muscles, its thick, curved horns knocking two goblins flying, and its heavy hooves stomped down, breaking their bones.
The bull's massive body tore a hole in the goblin horde, sending goblins flying one after another.
But there were too many goblins. As the shaman blew the horn, their eyes turned red, and they became even more ferocious, tearing at the flesh of the bull and leaving bloody marks.
The bull thrashed its head in a fit of rage, but was surrounded by goblins and collapsed heavily to the ground.
"How dare you hurt my cow!"
Luo An jumped off the bull's back and unleashed several wind blades, slashing the goblin that was entangled around the bull's limbs and killing it in half.
Green blood splattered as Roan continued walking alone through the goblin horde, unleashing a barrage of wind blades that cleared away the goblins surrounding the bull.
The bull got up again, its eyes revealing gratitude for its master.
Its hooves paved the ground as it charged at the other goblins.
Roan, meanwhile, stared at the goblin shaman holding the bone staff.
He didn't use magic; he picked up a machete from the ground and walked towards it.
The shaman noticed his approach and swung his bone staff at his head.
Koroan simply turned to the side, easily dodging the swift attack.
With a backhand slash, he severed one of the shaman's arms.
"Gulu gala!"
The shaman let out an angry growl and slammed his bone staff heavily into the ground.
The ground cracked open, and several vines sprouted from the soil, wrapping around Luo An's body.
Luo An swung his sword and cut it off, then leaped up, stepping on a goblin's head as he charged toward the goblin shaman.
Clang!
The machete clashed with the bone staff.
Luo An swung his sword and drew a bloody gash on its chest.
The shaman excitedly flailed his bone staff around, but Roan easily dodged it.
Each time, the machete in my hand would leave a wound on its body.
The shaman was forced to retreat repeatedly, blowing his horn and calling for help from the surrounding goblins.
Luo An gave it no further chances, pressed his body close, and severed the shaman's head with a single stroke.
Just then, he was pleasantly surprised to find that his "Constitution" and "Strength" attributes, which had remained unchanged on the panel, had each increased by 1 point.
Luo An understood.
He regularly exercises, but the results are limited.
What can truly unleash the body's potential is this kind of close-quarters combat.
If you can ensure that your strength surpasses that of your opponent, then you don't need to consider magic.
With the shaman's death, the situation on the battlefield changed instantly.
The goblins' eyes, which had been red-eyed, suddenly became clear. They stared blindly at the corpses of their companions scattered on the ground and the rampaging bull, and an overwhelming fear welled up in their hearts.
"Wow~"
A goblin let out a scream, dropped its bone club, and turned to run away.
The remaining goblins scattered and fled the farm in a panic.
Luo An didn't chase after him; he sheathed his sword and quickly walked to Canon's side.
Canon knelt on the ground, his armor covered in green blood and riddled with holes. His helmet was nowhere to be found, and a scar remained on his left cheek, from which blood was still flowing.
Luo An crouched down, a faint light emanating from his hand, and used it to stop the bleeding from several wounds on his body.
"Thank you... thank you, Roan."
Canon coughed up a mouthful of blood. "If you hadn't come, I would have died here."
"Since we made a promise, I will naturally keep it."
Roan said the same things he had said when he was supporting Grant.
"Is it a promise?"
Canon laughed self-deprecatingly.
He knew about the attack on Grant's farm, but he did not choose to provide assistance at the time.
It is said that he survived because Luo An arrived in time.
In the distance, Martha, carrying her son, approached with two slaves.
Her face was still filled with fear, and her eyes were fixed on Luo An.
Martha had seen everything that had happened.
Those goblins, powerful enough to destroy an entire farm, were utterly helpless against Roan.
The strength he displayed was truly terrifying.
Fortunately, Luo An arrived in time this time as well.
"Canon, are you feeling alright?"
Martha also expressed her concern for the unfortunate farmer.
Canon didn't bother to reply.
His condition is obvious at a glance; why would you need to ask?
Looking around, there were corpses everywhere.
The attack dealt a devastating blow to the farm.
All his slaves died in battle, not one survived, and only a few of his livestock remained. Worse still, the crops in the fields were trampled to pieces.
After the treatment was completed, Canon managed to stand up and thanked the two men, saying, "Thank you both for coming to help."
"Uncle Canon, do you have anything related to goblins in your house?"
Luo An helped him into the house.
Inside the house, a heavily pregnant woman was protecting two little girls, about four or five years old, who were huddled in a corner, trembling with fear.
"It's alright now."
Canon said something to them and sat down in a chair.
Recalling what Luo An had said, he had no recollection of it. "No, I don't remember anything like that."
That's strange.
Roan looked puzzled. "If there's nothing attracting them, goblins shouldn't be attacking your farm for no reason."
"But I really don't remember leaving anything about goblins."
Canon was unable to move at the moment. "Why don't you help me look for it?"
Luo An had been waiting for these words.
He began to look through the boxes.
The first two boxes contained miscellaneous items, nothing unusual.
But when he opened the third box and lifted the pile of hay on top, he found a bone horn lying underneath.
Luo An took out the horn and placed it on the table.
"This is... a goblin horn?"
Canon's expression changed drastically; he had seen something similar when he was still a member of the guard.
"I've never had this before, how did it get in my box?!"
Luo An sat down opposite him and asked, "Uncle Canon, think it over carefully. Has anyone else entered your house recently?"
Canon frowned and thought for a long time, then shook his head. "This is where my family and I live. Slaves are not allowed to come in, and no outsiders have ever been here."
"The lord did come by some time ago, but he only exchanged a few pleasantries with me outside before leaving."
Canon dared not suspect that the lord had placed the horn in the house.
When he was in the guard, the lord treated his subordinates very well.
The reason I came before was to warn him that there had been monster attacks in the area and to be careful.
If you're worried, you can sell your farm and move to the main city.
Luo An remained silent, observing Canon's expression, and made his judgment.
It seems that Brian has become more cautious after his failed attack on his own farm.
This goblin horn must have been left by someone who sneaked into the house.
Its purpose, of course, is to attract goblins and eliminate canon.
Anyway, according to Brian's prediction, the horn would be taken away by the goblins after the attack on the farm.
The attack failed this time because of Luo An, and the horn was left as evidence.
Even if there were a horn, it wouldn't be possible to identify it as being left by Brian.
If Roan dared to say that this belonged to Brian, he would only face annihilation for the crime of "defaming the lord."
He simply changed the subject.
"Uncle Canon, your farm is almost destroyed. What are your plans now?"
