Chapter 29 What if someone remembers the past?
The next five days were uneventful on the farm.
Roan and Celia seemed to have no regard for the people watching them in the forest.
I get up after dawn, practice magic in the morning and afternoon, and rest after meals by either walking the cows or taking a walk on the farm.
The only thing that intrigued Roan was that, because of his words, Celia seemed to have opened the door to a new world.
She inquired about more recipes from the mysterious Eastern country and tried them one by one.
Luo An has eaten a lot of delicious food these past few days and feels a sense of nostalgia.
On the evening of the sixth day, after finishing his workout, Luo An rode the bull back to the farm.
He had just led the bull into the shed when he heard the sound of cart wheels in the distance.
At the edge of the horizon, a somewhat dilapidated carriage sped along the muddy path.
The carriage stopped at the edge of the fence, the side curtain was lifted, and the widow Martha stepped out.
Luo An walked over and opened the fence to let the carriage in.
"Luo An, did I disturb you?"
Martha was holding a wine jar in her arms, and her smile seemed a little restrained.
"no."
"Aunt Martha, what brings you here?" Luo An asked.
"I just wanted to bring you something."
Martha handed over the earthenware jar she was holding. "This is fruit wine I made myself. The harvest was pretty good this year, so I made quite a lot. I brought it here for you to try."
Two slaves behind him unloaded two more jars from the cart.
"You're too kind."
Luo An took the wine jar; the aroma of wine could be smelled even through the sealing cloth. "I just milked some cows this morning; I'll fill some up for you."
"No, no need."
Martha quickly waved her hand, her tone pleading, "Luo An, actually I have something I want to ask you."
"You know that it's just me and my child in my family, and we only have three slaves."
"The monsters have been causing a lot of trouble lately, and I'm really scared."
Upon hearing this, Luo An understood why she had come here.
"I mentioned the agreement before, and I emphasized it again at Uncle Grant's farm."
"Don't worry, if we're attacked, light a smoke screen and I'll get there as fast as I can."
Seeing Martha's flustered expression, Luo An guessed that she was still a little worried, which was why she used the excuse of delivering fruit wine to repeat herself.
That's normal.
The farm was not small, and the widow and her child lived there with only three slaves.
If they were to encounter a monster attack, they wouldn't be able to hold out for long.
"Thank you, Roan."
Hearing the assurance, Martha felt a little relieved, and tears almost welled up in her eyes. "Thank you so much."
"You're welcome."
Luo An smiled and said, "Take the milk. Your son is growing a lot, so I can't let you make a wasted trip."
"Really, there's no need. I was planning to deliver some wine to Grant's place anyway."
Martha had come to ask him for a favor, so she felt embarrassed to take someone else's things and quickly tried to get into the car.
"If you don't take it, then I won't accept this fruit wine either."
Luo An's tone suddenly became firm.
After all, there are still eyes watching in the forest, so we still have to do some pretense.
Otherwise, I'll just accept it and not bother with formalities.
"Okay... then I'll trouble you."
Martha froze, and had no choice but to agree.
"Please wait a moment."
As Luo An entered the kitchen, a delicious aroma wafted towards him.
Celia was taking a plate out of the cupboard.
"Master, dinner will be ready soon."
Hearing the noise, Celia turned around and looked over. "Tonight I'm making eggplant with garlic sauce and shredded pork with garlic sauce."
"People from other farms came and brought some things. I'll get some milk for them. You go ahead and do your work."
Luo An didn't disturb her, and filled two bottles with fresh milk.
Celia said "Oh" and continued with her own business.
Stepping out of the kitchen, Roan approached Martha.
"Aunt Martha, if your son likes it, he can come to me anytime."
He handed over the milk bottle, saying, "One liter of milk costs only one silver coin. Come here and you won't have to go to the city."
The bull produces a lot of milk; he and Celia simply can't finish it all.
Selling in the main city would take too much time, so we might as well take this opportunity to promote our products.
"Uncle Grant's youngest daughter is also growing a lot, so please take this bottle of milk to her for me."
Luo An handed over another bottle.
"Okay, I'll pass on the message. I'll definitely come often in the future."
Martha took the milk and had the slave put it on the cart.
She plans to ask Luo Anduo to buy some more in a few days.
Firstly, it can strengthen their bond; secondly, it will also help with the son's physical development.
She stepped behind the curtain, and two slaves drove the carriage away from the farm.
After visiting Grant's farm, Martha planned to visit other farms as well.
Although the chances of getting help from those people are slim, I'm prepared to give it a try.
When her husband was alive, she had a fairly good relationship with several farmers.
What if they remember our past relationship?
Several families' children are growing up, and Martha plans to take this opportunity to help Roan promote his milk.
That's how I'm helping him out.
......
For the remaining four days, no one came to the farm, and life returned to its regular rhythm.
Luo An's magic progressed extremely quickly, and he mastered several new spells.
Under Celia's guidance, he also learned how to create the wind wall barrier that could be used for both offense and defense that night.
Unfortunately, despite feeling that his mastery of magic was becoming increasingly proficient, Luo An's "spirit" stat on the panel did not increase at all.
On the contrary, Celia's mental attribute increased by 1 point through this period of guidance.
After dinner, Luo An looked out at the forest, wondering how long that person would stay.
"Celia, he's been guarding the forest the whole time, without leaving for a moment?"
Celia nodded.
"Master, I pay attention to his movements every day, and he hasn't moved at all."
"He seemed to do nothing but stay by our side."
Luo An was helpless.
It doesn't really affect daily life, but if that person stays here, the plan to eliminate the monsters won't be very easy to carry out.
I originally thought that person would only stay for a few days at most, or like a werewolf, lead monsters to attack the farm.
But nothing happened; they just watched quietly.
"Brian has really been patient to send someone to guard this place for so long."
......
The night is getting darker.
In the forest, Rosalie jumped down from the tree where she was hiding and stepped onto the fallen leaves.
She stayed there for a full ten days.
I thought I could find more surprises to make my owner happier, and I also wanted to prove that I was no worse than Kairo at doing things.
However, aside from discovering on the first day that the farmer was hiding an elf, nothing was found for the remaining nine days.
As for the woman who came looking for Roan, Rosalie didn't pay her any attention.
Bartering between farms is common and nothing noteworthy.
"How exactly does Roan know that elf?"
Rosalie observed that Roan and the elf's daily interactions seemed like those of a harmonious couple.
Seeing this made her nostalgic for the days before she became a slave.
But the more she looked, the deeper her doubts became.
How could a proud elf live with such an ordinary farmer, and even take the initiative to teach magic?
Judging from the elf's expression, he seemed to be enjoying himself.
Rosalie simply couldn't understand it.
"Luan knows magic, and he has a non-slave elf who guides his magical learning."
This was the most useful information she had received in the past ten days.
"It's time to go back and report to the master."
Rosalie moved through the forest at an incredible speed.
"I wonder what action the master will take once he finds out."
The thought of her master sent a chill down her spine.
Rosalie prayed as she traveled.
Please, the master must have found a more interesting slave.
The master must lose interest in tormenting her.
