Chapter 20 1 Always Hiding His Talents

The night is deep.

Lord's Manor, inside the lord's room.

Brian, who had just finished torturing the elven slaves, still had a nonchalant smile on his face.

He felt extremely satisfied.

The elven slave beside him had unfocused eyes, his pointed ears drooping limply, his fair skin covered with crisscrossing red marks, and his mouth bulging.

Just as Brian picked up a huge object to continue the torture, a strange feeling suddenly came over him.

A slave contract is a one-way bond, where the master is aware of the slave's condition.

Whether a slave is loyal, alive, or dead can be detected.

At this moment, Brian discovered that Kylo and his contact had been lost.

It's not just blurry or faint, but completely gone.

Brian froze, his brow furrowed.

There is only one possibility for this to happen.

Kylo is dead.

"How could that be?"

Brian repeated it twice, still unable to believe it was real.

But he couldn't sense any trace of Kylo's presence.

Brian lost interest in torturing the slaves and coldly glanced at the two elven slaves.

"roll!"

The two elven slaves, feeling as if they had been granted a pardon, scrambled to their feet, their faces still showing lingering fear.

They didn't even bother to pick up their clothes scattered on the ground, and hurriedly left barefoot.

They were afraid that if they were even a little slow, they would be severely punished by their capricious master.

Brian was the only one left in the room.

He put on his magnificent coat, walked to the window, and looked at the night outside, his face growing increasingly grim.

Kylo was an outstanding slave he had selected over several years through rigorous screening.

Among his many slaves, Kylo was outstanding in every way.

He had carried out countless missions and earned Brian's deep trust.

He was only going to deal with a farmer's son, and he died?

"Luan Bell".

Brian's mind raced back to everything about this person.

His mother died early, and his father stayed on the farm after retiring from the military, farming for twenty years. There was nothing noteworthy about him.

This kid has no connections whatsoever.

Sending Kylo to handle it should be as easy as stepping on an ant.

But this ant actually killed the hunting dog he sent out.

"Could it be that this kid has been hiding his true abilities all along?"

Brian couldn't fathom what kind of "clumsy" trick Roan had hidden to kill Kylo.

The moment the idea came to him, even he found it funny.

But now that Kylo is dead, Brian has no choice but to take this person, whom he has never really paid any attention to, seriously.

He walked out of the room and headed straight for the deepest part of the manor.

That place was a place where elite slaves were kept.

No one except Brian himself was allowed to enter.

crunch.

Brian entered the courtyard and pushed open a door.

The moment the sound rang out, the sleeping orc was immediately awakened.

Upon seeing the person who approached, she immediately prostrated herself on the ground.

"Kylo died during a mission."

Brian looked at the respectfully kneeling rabbit-eared girl before him, his tone indifferent.

"Rosalie, I have something I need you to do."

"Go and keep watch on a farm on the edge of the territory."

Upon hearing this news, Rosalie's eyes narrowed slightly.

The slave Carol, whom his master used with such ease... is dead?

She felt no sadness, but rather excitement.

Finally, I was able to show myself more in front of my master.

"Yes, my master."

The surprise lasted only a moment before Rosalie quickly agreed.

"Just monitor, don't take action, just observe from a distance."

Brian felt it was necessary to get to know Roan again.

"After you have observed it, report back to me everything you have seen."

"Remember, don't let them notice you."

Rosalie's greatest skill is concealing her presence, and Brian sought her out precisely because of this.

Only with enough information can he decide how to handle the matter afterward.

The final interpretation of land ownership within the territory rests with lord Brian.

If Brian could find a sufficiently compelling reason that wouldn't damage the lord's image of brilliance, he could also reclaim the farm through other means.

Unfortunately, the old Bale didn't give him any excuses to pick out.

"I will remember my master's instructions."

Rosalie found the task a bit strange, but she agreed anyway.

She was so curious about what kind of farm it was that she could only observe and couldn't do anything else.

"Rosalie, I'm staying here with you tonight."

Brian sat on the edge of the bed and patted his thigh.

He looked at the long rabbit ears and gave a meaningful smile.

"Come on up."

......

The next morning.

Inside the farmhouse.

Lying on the bed, Celia's eyelashes fluttered slightly as she slowly opened her eyes.

I felt a dull, intermittent pain in my abdomen, but it was much better than the excruciating pain I experienced yesterday.

She could sense traces of residual magic within her body.

Her master healed her with magic.

Celia's hand was still being held, and she could feel the warmth of the embrace.

She glanced to the side and saw her owner sitting by the bed.

The owner propped his cheek up with his other hand, his sleeping face still showing signs of fatigue.

Celia tried to sit up, but a wave of weakness washed over her.

Even after the magic was depleted, the backlash from forcibly burning life force to maintain the imprisonment magic still lingered.

But more than any of that, she cared about her master.

She noticed faint red marks on the skin exposed by her master's robes, symptoms of excessive magical depletion.

"woke up?"

Luo An felt the touch on his hand and opened his eyes.

"Master, how are your injuries?"

Celia asked with concern, "Last night you forced such a massive amount of magic power to cast the Great Fireball spell. Did you experience any discomfort?"

"Didn't I tell you that overdrawing your magic power will damage your body's foundation? How could you take such a risk?"

The damage caused by overdrawing magical energy is far more difficult to recover from than physical injuries.

Celia's eyes stung, and she felt a complex mix of emotions.

I feel heartbroken and guilty.

"I'm fine. As long as I can save you, this little bit of overexertion is nothing."

Luo An felt a burning pain throughout his body, but he did not show it.

After the mental boost, the magic power consumed by using the Fireball Technique was not excessive.

Given the circumstances, this was the only way to survive.

He wiped the tears from Celia's eyes, knowing she was worried, and kept smiling.

"Didn't you willingly overdraw your magic power to imprison that werewolf?"

"I've said it before, if you think of me, I'll think of you too."

"But Master, we..."

Celia bit her cherry lips.

I wanted to say that the two were in a master-servant relationship, and that it was the slave's duty to do these things, but the master had no obligation to do so.

But she knew that if she spoke out, her master would definitely scold her.

Celia could only admonish, "Master, you must never do this again. Your safety is the most important thing to me."

"Master, tonight I will use a secret elven technique to help alleviate the problems caused by your magic depletion, okay?"

A charming blush appeared on Celia's face.

Trust level +5%

Trust level +5%

Luo An noticed that her trust level had increased again, indicating that her willingness to use the so-called "elven secret art" was a well-considered choice.

I didn't get this treatment the last time I overused my magic.

Some things are indeed best left to develop naturally.

"it is good."

Seeing the worry in her eyes, Luo An nodded in agreement.

Reflecting on his previous plans, Roan felt it necessary to tell Celia.

He can't do this alone; he needs her cooperation.

"Slave contracts allow the master to sense the slave's death, so Brian must know the werewolf is dead."

Luo An helped Celia lean against the headboard and placed soft pillows under her arm.

There's something I need to tell you.
