Chapter 45 The tortoise is dead, and no one can stop me now!

Master Scorpion was defeated and banished to Scorpion Valley by Master Turtle decades ago.

Out of deep fear of Master Oogway's unfathomable kung fu, she dared not step out of the valley for decades, even though the valley had not been sealed off.

But this does not mean that she was completely ignorant of the outside world, like a scorpion at the bottom of a well.

Over the years, there have always been some fools who are either reckless or desperate, including herb gatherers, adventurers, and those seeking medical help, who have stumbled into Scorpion Valley for various reasons.

The vast majority of these people became prisoners of her tail needles, the toxins invading their brains and turning them into empty-eyed, obedient puppets.

These puppets became her best eyes and ears and tools.

She sent them out to gather information about the outside world for her.

Therefore, although her body was trapped in this valley, she was able to keep abreast of the changing events in the outside world.

Not long ago, she received some incredibly good news from the message brought back by the puppet, news that made her almost want to shout to the heavens.

The turtle master who terrified her like a tiger and dared not cross the line for decades is dead and has ascended to heaven!

The successor was not one of the Five Heroes trained by the Jade Emperor Palace, nor was it the raccoon, but an unknown monkey who popped out of some rock!

"Our new Dragon Warrior..."

Master Scorpion stared intently at Van Ken's figure in the jade basin with his six eyes, the sinister smile on his lips growing ever wider.

"I heard that he decisively defeated the escaped Da Long a few days ago?"

"Hehe, it seems you do have some skill; you're not just a pretty face with no substance."

But that's all.

She only ever feared Master Oogway; she didn't even consider Master Raccoon a threat.

A young, inexperienced boy, or perhaps a little monkey?

Even with exceptional talent, how much can one truly possess?

How can it compare to a tortoise that has cultivated itself for hundreds of years? What a joke!

"Alright."

Greed and ambition gleamed in the eyes of the Scorpion Master.

"Once you become my puppet, with your status as the Dragon Hero and your martial arts skills, you will definitely be able to serve me even better."

As she thought of this,

No matter how many times she thought about it, the thought of the turtle's death filled her with ecstatic joy.

Master Scorpion threw his head back and laughed, his ferocious shadow cast on the uneven rock wall through the flickering lamplight, his voice revealing decades of suppressed ecstasy and resentment.

The turtle is dead!

That old codger is finally dead!

No one can stop me now!

I, the Scorpion, will leave this hellish place, conquer the Valley of Peace… and even conquer the world!

At that moment, more than a dozen figures carrying weapons responded simultaneously from inside the cave.

Their eyes were vacant yet fierce, their faces stiff, and they shouted along with Master Poison Scorpion: "Occupy the Valley of Peace, occupy the world!"

"Conquer the Valley of Peace! Conquer the world!"

These are all unfortunate souls and bandits from the surrounding mountains whom Master Scorpion has captured and transformed with his poisonous stingers since learning of Master Turtle's death.

She originally planned to add more soldiers to build a decent puppet army, then march out of Scorpion Valley and reclaim everything she had lost.

Unexpectedly, before the plan could be fully implemented, people from the Jade Emperor Palace came knocking on our door.

Moreover, the target appears to be her sacred sun orchid.

Master Poison Scorpion glanced at the strange flower floating quietly above the jade basin.

Its main stem is emerald green, and its petals are a delicate peach color, with a ring of dazzling gold trim around the edges. Under the light of the oil lamp, it emits a soft and sacred glow, which is completely out of place with the gloomy surrounding environment.

This sacred sun orchid was one of the souvenirs she took with her when she escaped from the Valley of Peace decades ago.

Over the years, it is precisely because of its existence that some desperate or opportunistic people have recklessly ventured into its Scorpion Valley in search of this legendary life-saving elixir, either for themselves or for their incurable relatives.

It was these endless stream of visitors who delivered goods to her door that mostly became her puppets under her tail needle, her eyes and ears for understanding the outside world.

Now, this sacred sun orchid has actually helped her attract people from the Jade Emperor Palace and the Dragon Warrior!

"Although I don't yet have a truly large army..."

After taking one last look at the golden figures reflected on the surface of the jade basin, Master Poison Scorpion said.

"But this Scorpion Valley, after decades of my management, is by no means so easy to enter. You have already stepped into a trap without even realizing it."

She turned to the puppets, whose expressions were blank yet filled with murderous intent.

Let's go.

"Go and give our Jade Emperor Palace master a proper welcome, and also our...newly appointed, young and promising Dragon Hero."

"Give the Dragon Hero a proper welcome!"

"Give the Dragon Hero a proper welcome!"

The puppets responded in unison, their voices echoing through the cave. Their eyes were empty yet fierce. They turned around in unison, carrying swords and clubs, and followed behind Master Poison Scorpion with stiff but uniform steps.

With a soft rustling sound as his stinger scratched the ground, Master Scorpion led his men into the valley, where the unsuspecting visitors were still unaware that they had been discovered.

……

Van Ken and his companions continued their journey through the lush valley, the grass beneath their feet soft, the streams babbling, the scenery delightful.

But beneath this tranquility may lurk a deadly danger.

Everyone was on edge, keeping their eyes and ears open.

Soon, they saw a dark cave entrance in the distance, at the foot of the mountain wall, which looked like the open mouth of a giant beast.

The cave entrance is surrounded by jagged rocks, and traces of human intervention can still be vaguely seen.

"Look there!"

Ah Bao lowered his voice, pointed in that direction, and spoke with a mixture of excitement and nervousness.

"That must be where Master Scorpion lives!"

The crowd followed his finger, their eyes growing even more wary.

Master Raccoon made a gesture, signaling everyone to tread lightly and prepare to sneak up and investigate silently.

However, just as they were about to take action—

"kill!!"

Suddenly, several hoarse roars erupted from behind the bushes and rocks ahead, followed by a dozen figures brandishing swords, clubs, and other weapons, charging out menacingly!

They varied in height and weight, and looked like ordinary people.

But at this moment, their faces were distorted, their eyes were empty and fierce, and they were making meaningless hoarse noises, completely unlike normal people.

"Be careful!"

Master Raccoon immediately gave a low shout, sensing something was wrong. His heart sank, and his sharp eyes swept over the charging bandits before he focused more on his surroundings.

"They were controlled by the poison of the Scorpion Master!"

She knew we were here!

The appearance of the puppets meant that their whereabouts had been completely exposed.

Master Scorpion is likely hiding in the shadows, watching them like a venomous snake, ready to launch a fatal attack at any moment.

"Take them down first, but don't kill them!"

Van Can also scanned his surroundings and calmly gave the order.

"Among these people, there must be innocent victims who have been manipulated."
