Dark Eldar
92. Nozdormu, the Half-Dragon
"No one can truly control their own destiny except destiny itself. Of course, that's just a joke." —Otherworldly Rules 18.94
Loki's Hammer of the Creator is bound, making it impossible for anyone to pick it up. The half-dragon guards tried for a long time, picking it up, dropping it, picking it up again, dropping it again. This was still considered relatively easy; some evil creatures couldn't even get close to it. After all, dragons are the "creator race," possessing a certain degree of "divine power," just like the elves of the World Tree. (The creator races include: elves, dragons, prophets, and the Handmaids of Eden, etc. After the prophets were corrupted by witchcraft, they lost their "divine power," and Eden was completely sealed off! Only elves and dragons remained, and perhaps the "Dark Eldar" could also be considered.)
"Alright, I'll trust you for now!" The half-dragon guard decided not to waste his time. He didn't want to lose face in front of his subordinates.
"In that case, please convey our purpose. We do not wish to use force," Loki said sincerely, bending down to retrieve the "Mjolnir" (the hammer of the Creator). He was already weary of fighting and killing. (Loki's "artifact" was already successfully forged; anyone in his position probably wouldn't want to go through the trouble of gathering materials again. Unless? Unless "desire" triumphed over reason...)
"Na na!" The dragon chieftain cried out in a primitive voice. The dragon language had not disappeared; their dragon language, "infrasound," sounded like howling. "Na na! Na na! Eh! Chih~~~" A few simple tones could summarize it.
"Na~~Na~~" (It sounds like an echo from deep within a cave)
Edward was confused. "If they were prepared to let us through, why haven't they taken any action? They're still standing there, holding their pitchforks."
"Don't rush, they're probably waiting for us to make a mistake. Look, some hands are pretending to be tired, seemingly doing it on purpose! I suspect that no one can change the will of the Black Dragon King, Saberian!" Loki whispered to Edward. There were some things he dared not say aloud. Dragonkin's hearing was better than that of ordinary ancestors, but much worse than that of elves. "Invincible Body" was still their primary foundation. (Invincible Body, also known as Thick Scales, is a special attribute of dragons, halved after evolution, but grants +30% intelligence; it was for this reason that the Black Dragon King, Saberian, risked drinking the "mysterious potion.")
The "secret" is said to contain alchemical formulas from the terrifying "Dark Eldar".
Time ticked by. Edward and Loki, with their long lifespans, barely sensed the passage of an hour or two. In contrast, the half-dragons were different. Due to their incomplete evolution (the uncertainty of the humanoid potion meant that 60% of black dragons who drank it would exhibit incomplete evolution, becoming what are known as "half-dragons"), their lifespans were similar to those of dwarves. They could feel the passage of time. Most of the black dragon soldiers in the guard ranks were between 200 and 300 years old when they were "forced" to drink the potion; now, they could only live to a maximum of 500! Meanwhile, the black dragons of Neltharion's lair, though poor, could easily live 2000-3000 years each as young dragons...
"Whoosh!"
One of the black dragon archers behind him unleashed a "Golden Arrow"! A golden bolt of lightning shot straight towards Loki. The composed Loki dodged in time and was unharmed.
Seeing this, the other half-dragon archers in the back row assumed it was an order from the guard leader and also fired the arrows they had been waiting for!
In an instant! Hundreds of golden raindrops rained down! Loki and Edward were both taken aback! They hadn't expected the "battle" to start so suddenly!
(Note: Just as Loki predicted, the Black Dragon King Saberian has issued the order: "No retreat! Kill them all! Loki's 'artifact' must be returned to the dragonkin!")
Seeing that the hammer could not be "returned," the leader of the dragon guards dared not retreat. Hesitating and caught in a dilemma, the half-dragon archer in the back row launched the first attack. His name was "Nozdormu," and his identity was the illegitimate son of "Saberne" (a stunning mother dragon in human form).
Since drinking the "Humanoid Potion," Nozdormu has discovered that he cannot undergo a complete evolution like his mother? His lifespan has been greatly reduced!
Sabelion utterly despised this bastard of unknown origin, so he simply demoted Nozdormu to the Dragonkin Guard, hoping to better "possess" Sabelion. Nozdormu himself possessed little fighting ability; he previously relied on his mother for influence. Now, all he could do was pledge loyalty! Perhaps he could achieve something in the world of half-dragons... (Sabelion, stunning her mother, also secretly assisted her illegitimate son, encouraging him to be as high-profile and bold as possible, striving to become the "King" of the half-dragons as soon as possible!)
