Dark Eldar
84 Nesario and Saberian
Regarding the loot dropped by "Dragonkin," there are a small amount of silver coins, jewelry blueprints, and blue-quality equipment. It's rumored that idle "bounty hunters" specialize in doing "shameful things" in dragon habitats. (Ambushing elite dragonkin guards; you get about 1 gold coin for every 3-4 dragonkin killed.)
"The primitive dragons, who haven't evolved, are they planning to 'offer' themselves to the Black Dragon King Saberian and transform into dragonkin...?" Loki speculated as he walked, watching Edward's purse gradually empty. He dared not speak further, fearing he would be "implicated." The artifact "Mold of the Creator" hadn't brought Loki much wealth. If he were a greedy person, he would never have obtained the artifact in his lifetime. The components of the artifact were all incredibly valuable. If he wanted money, he could easily have sold them and become rich.
Loki didn't do that; he chose to follow his own "will"! He forged a "divine weapon" and advanced to the rank of High Mage. Loki succeeded...
The "Wild Black Dragon Egg" is a quest item given to Loki by Elder Schopenhauer. (Bound, untradeable; Level 45)
Loki intended to wreak havoc or use area-of-effect spells like "Purify." He followed Edward to the final Neltharion lair.
The old dragon chieftain, "Neltharion," is fast asleep. He's not particularly strict with his juniors; whatever happens, he neither asks nor cares. As for his mutated and evolved brother, "Black Dragon King" Saberian, he's even more indifferent. He continues to "sleep soundly." (Neltharion, level unknown, drops the artifact "Tears of Neltharion"; trinket; item level: 83; +599 Intellect, 580 Critical Strike Chance; "Silver liquid flows within its dark shell; this item is extremely pure, radiating powerful energy.")
"Loki, I believe that if we place the wild black dragon egg in front of him, we can awaken him," Edward III whispered.
"Okay! Whatever you say. Here you go~"
. . . . . .
"What's that smell? It's humans! Oh no! And, and... it's you? Who's disturbing my rest! How did you get in?" (Common Language)
Neltharion raised his enormous dragon head, and his wings, once spread, nearly filled the entire lair. The "Dragon Fire" within his body coalesced, and the glowing red-hot "fire energy" could be seen burning even through his neck! The surrounding "impregnable walls" were blackened by the "raging flames." Extremely dangerous!
"If he attacks us, we'll probably need a priest to help us, otherwise we'll both be engulfed in flames. Two dragon scales on the fire pit alone won't be enough to withstand the Dragon King's fatal blow," Loki whispered.
The dragon Neltharion certainly heard it; his hearing and vision were unmatched by humans.
"You all step back for a moment, let me sneeze!" said the Dragon King Nesario. He decided to refrain from killing for the time being, out of consideration for the "wild dragon egg".
In an instant! The earth shook violently! The temperature soared! Lava erupted!! The entire cave didn't need oil lamps; the unburnt lava that spewed out made an excellent source of light.
Loki and Edward re-entered the main hall.
"Hey! My brother, he's gone astray, become a 'Dragonman.' Why? Why?! Is growing two ugly legs really better than soaring through the air?" Neltharion spoke fluent Common, having communicated with humans, including dwarves and elves, since ancient times. One wonders what each generation of life feels like in the eyes of a dragon...
"Honorable Dragon Lord! We have come to pay our respects at the request of Elder Schopenhauer from another world! My name is Edward III, and his name is Loki. Although you are not interested in us 'nobodies' (we are low on the hero list), I still feel it is necessary to introduce ourselves," Edward III said shrewdly and politely.
"Hmm, Uncle Edward III?"
"Love, Edward," Edward corrected himself. He would not allow his name to be wrong.
"Sorry, Edward III! Hello! Is your friend named Loki?"
Loki nodded.
"I had many dealings with your ancestors, and I am old now. The reason I don't want to remember your names is that your lives were too short, and of course, even more so for the 'First Men.' So many kind humans have helped us, yet we dragons have no way to thank those who died young..." Nesario turned his thick, dark neck and continued.
"Young Edward, you are intelligent. The dragon race is in grave danger! Nowadays, every dragon that wants to transform into a dragon-human needs a huge amount of money to buy the 'Badge of Resilience' (dropped from the Obsidian Sanctum, rare). In their pursuit of evolution, or rather, reincarnation, they kill and set fires everywhere. I am increasingly, increasingly unable to control it..."
Neltharion was perfectly aware of Loki and Edward's origins. He stated the dragons' position: "The numerous branches of the dragon race are no longer restrained or controlled (they have fallen apart)... Those willing to remain in the dragon's lair are either inexperienced young dragons or unambitious Twilight Drakes..."
