Dark Eldar

464 Job Selection Hall

The heroes come in a variety of classes, offering endless gameplay possibilities. So, young people, are you ready to join the battle? —Official GG for the Classic WoW Open Beta

Elaine submitted her quest list, and with a system notification, she and Loki both leveled up! Elaine reached level 26, and Loki reached level 28.

"Loki, the announcement says that the minimum level requirement for choosing a class in Classic WoW is level 25 or higher. We're both qualified, so let's go to the class selection hall now, shall we?" Elaine asked. She wanted to decide on her class right away and could learn a few priest skills tonight to research.

"Okay, let's go, let's go to the class selection hall now." Loki agreed. He also wanted to see what the warrior class was like in Classic WoW. He had seen other heroes using warriors while doing quests, and it seemed similar to the warrior class in the otherworld.

The Leijincheng Selection Hall (131, 137) is located in the heart of Leijincheng. It's situated on the northwest side, within the most prominent building. The entire building is decorated in dark gold and is guarded by tall, imposing human guards in full armor. Its opulence even surpasses that of the city lord's office building.

At the entrance to the selection hall, a brand-new red carpet stretched all the way to the outdoor steps. Upon seeing the arrival of a young hero, the guards swiftly opened the weapon bays equipped with spears.

Elaine and Loki entered cautiously.

As Loki entered, accompanied by energetic music, he felt a sense of déjà vu. (The music in the job selection hall of this other world was similar to the music used in the nostalgic version.)

"Brother Loki, have you ever experienced job selection in another world?" Elaine asked Loki in a low voice, both excited and curious.

"In this other world, class selection is determined by the elders, not by the heroes themselves. Maps outside this world have class selection halls in their main cities, but they're nowhere near as grand as here," Loki replied. Loki was formally trained in this other world; if he were a mage apprentice, the mage elders would directly teach him mage skills, unlike in Classic WoW where heroes can choose their initial combat class.

"And you, Elaine? You were a healer before, don't you want to try something different? A mental mage, you could achieve unlimited firepower. I don't actually need your protection, because my survivability is already very strong, and I'll learn other escape and disguise skills later." Loki offered some reasonable suggestions so that Elaine could choose carefully later and not regret it. Because the first combat class is extremely important; learning other classes later only grants a limited talent tree. The first class chosen has the most complete talent tree provided by the system, and you can even explore hidden ultimate skills. A second class in a dual-class system has limited skills! It doesn't have ultimate skills. (First Class > Second Class)

"Brother Loki, I'm not like you. I have experience as a mage, a warrior, and a paladin. I've always played a priest and I'm used to it." Elaine is the kind of girl who is quite focused. She's not very interested in other classes yet.

There are no other heroes in the class selection hall right now, which may be because there is a hidden vortex gate (implying that class selection must be guided one-on-one; it is highly valued! Imitating others is not allowed; it enhances the user experience and privacy, etc.).

The music softened as we walked through a quiet corridor. On both sides of the corridor hung animated posters, incredibly realistic animated images. (1:1 hand-drawn; magical)

"Guests are here! Handsome guys and beautiful girls, hello! Please allow me to introduce myself. I am the combat class selection guide: Jack Bryson, you can call me Senior Brother Bryson. Don't underestimate me, I'm already level 100, and I've been waiting for you two here for a long time! Explore the fantasy novel categories, there's bound to be one that suits you." Class selection guide Bryson walked out from the central bar to greet them. What he said might have been an exaggeration, or it might have been true.

The job selection guide, named Bryson, was agile and wore a fitted silver chainmail suit, carrying no weapons. Looking at him, he resembled either a martial artist with nimble movements or a mage studying magic; Loki wasn't quite sure what his profession was.

Loki was still somewhat skeptical of what the guide had just said, especially the part about "claiming to have waited specifically for him and Elaine." Loki only trusted himself and never believed the guide's seemingly flattering words or attempts to highlight his superiority over others in this selection process.

"Hello, Bryson, my name is Elaine, and this is my brother Loki. We'd like to finish our job selection tonight, is that alright? Are you about to leave work?" Elaine asked politely.

"Oh, Elaine, you look every bit the qualified candidate for priest, don't you? Don't say that! We will always serve the heroes who come here, remember, every single one of them, and we will never sleep!" Senior Brother Lyson continued, "Even if I'm asleep, I will still get up immediately to greet you when you arrive, because choosing a priesthood is a matter of utmost importance, the right of every hero! It would be wrong if I affected your plans, wouldn't it?" (The guide might be too lonely, always using rhetorical questions...)

"Brother Leisen, your dedication is admirable!" Loki gave a thumbs up, sincerely respecting this job selection guide.

"In this other world, you no longer see such dedicated heroes. They're used to working from sunrise to sunset. I never expected to find such dedicated people in the Classic version. And they're even in the starting area; maybe I'll encounter even more powerful people later?" Loki thought. He knew that once a hero reached a certain level, even simple tasks like cleaning toilets could cause an NPC to "progress" (similar to awakening, @all disabled), just like when he forged the artifact "Hammer of the Creator." Once a certain level was reached, it was truly possible to achieve something significant...

Senior Brother Leisen made a gesture of courtesy and said, "Distinguished guests, please follow me. Let me slowly introduce you to various interesting elite professions."

Led by his senior, Lysen, Elaine walked in front, with Loki following behind. (Ladies first)

Job selection guide Leisen continued, "Look, gentlemen, this is King Olay I, and this is his ultimate form after mastering the Great Berserker! Look! The Damascus greatsword in his hand is the renowned [Divine Weapon - Hurricane's Fury] (five-colored). Look at the light and electricity emanating from his entire body, and his endless cloak (high-end equipment; omitted)! How cool is that! I wish I could be half as cool as him someday!!" Senior Brother Leisen, the job selection guide, gazed up at the picture frame, mimicking King Olay I's sword-wielding pose; he seemed quite engrossed in the role.

He started by introducing the warrior class. A dynamic image of Olay I appeared, within the frame, as he vigorously wielded the Hurricane's Fury (a divine weapon; five-colored), the entire frame crackling with lightning and thunder!! Absolutely stunning! Incredibly cool!!

"Oh, sorry, please forgive my excessive admiration for King Aurelius I. Elaine, the beautiful priestess, is just as famous! The ultimate form of the priest class diagram! Please follow me. Look!! She is the greatest priest of all time—Pamel I! The first lady of King Aurelius!! It is said that her sacrifices in creating the Classic server will forever be remembered! Look, in Lady Pamel's hand is the [Artifact: Eternal Wand] (five-colored)! It is said that this wand is a [contract synthesis] (a collection of contracts; the legendary magical secrets of the Light faction) from all the wands of the Light faction across multiple worlds. Lady Pamel represents eternal light!! Her sacrifice made our current Classic server possible..."
