Dark Eldar

449 Ancient Tree Staff

"The other world is about to face its most devastating impact in history, one that will be far more devastating than any previous epic war!" — Elder Izor of the Elf Clan

Mysterious Island (111.318, dynamic coordinates), the noble highest elder of the Elven race, the elderly Elder Izo, wielding the Ancient Giant Tree Staff (limited edition, pink, an ancient artifact). He leads the remaining Elven race (not selectable), living a secluded life for generations. They love peace and are the most loyal guardians of the World Tree.

"Great Tree Spirit, we were once the noblest clan, yet now, there are people who want to develop in the Classic server? What should we do??"

Elder Izora, holding a magical staff, knelt on one knee and prayed to the World Tree.

However, the branches of the World Tree swayed gently in the wind; he remained asleep and did not reply to Elder Izor.

The World Tree is the final boss that has been passed down from ancient times. He is not someone to be fought. He is the ultimate "independent holy spirit" that even the established order fears. What exactly does the World Tree do? What does it maintain? What is its purpose? Nobody knows. The elven race may know more about the World Tree, but their understanding is limited to the traditional view that "he is the most powerful protector of life force and natural force!"

In short, the World Tree is powerful and mysterious.

After submitting the key quest, Loki entered the Classic server. He didn't tell anyone. He simply entered alone in silence.

When other friends see Loki's avatar in their friend list and it turns gray, they know that he has most likely gone there.

"For other heroes, Classic WoW is unfamiliar, but for high-level mages, it's more like... more like a salvation," Elder Sun Yun commented softly.

"Redemption?"

There were other people in Elder Sun Yun's room.

It was Edward III the monk.

"Yes, Edward FS, the Otherworld is gradually collapsing without us even realizing it. This is something no one wants to see. Think about it, our wealth, our freedom, and our aspirations—all of them suddenly seem insignificant in the face of Classic WoW... Oh, and those despicable Dark Eldar. Did they spend so much money to enter the Otherworld just for Classic WoW?" At this moment, in this situation, even the well-informed Elder Sun Yun couldn't help but complain.

"Teacher, if that's the case, then the Dark Eldar came to this other world simply for mining and access?" Edward pressed. He had made a special trip to visit Loki's mentor today, bringing many enhancement gifts (purchased with in-game currency from the shop). Edward didn't usually visit, but he was truly puzzled and frustrated, so he wanted to seek answers from Loki's teacher.

"Yes, according to the latest intelligence, 50% of them have already logged off. The Dark Eldar are left with only the old, weak, sick, and disabled, a few NPCs who yearn for a peaceful life, and those who disagree with their tribe. The major Dark Eldar guilds, including their main DPS players, have basically all logged off. They've probably gone to a new place in groups," Elder Sun Yun revealed, his speech remaining calm.

What Elder Sun Yun told Edward III was major news (not publicly available; personally recommended: I hope you enjoy the story of *The Dark Eldar*. Top secret). Edward had also discovered some of it, but hadn't confirmed it, nor dared he. Following the rules was the norm in this other world, and Edward, without orders, generally wouldn't dare cross the line.

After Elder Sun Yun's explanation, Edward III understood that the other world was deliberately keeping the Dark Elf race's whereabouts a secret in order to maintain stability.

Edward, of course, knew he couldn't easily tell anyone about this; today's conversation was merely a casual chat between him and Elder Sun Yun.

After politely bidding farewell to Elder Sun Yun, Edward quickly returned to his VIP dormitory. His VIP dormitory was quite luxurious, belonging to the mid-level amenities of this other world (official welfare housing), with several rooms, which could be used by Edward for his future marriage (four bedrooms, two living rooms, and two bathrooms).

But now, gazing at the desolate, otherworldly night, Edward was filled with many emotions...

He wants to play the classic version of the game, but he also doesn't want to play it.

"Hey, this isn't a multiple-choice question," Edward sighed, gazing at the bright moonlight.

He understood that if he didn't play the classic version, he would inevitably fall behind. It was like those who had gone to a higher level to cultivate, while he was still cultivating in a level-two map—the results would definitely be different. But one thing was certain: if he remained in the other world to cultivate, would he be able to comprehend deeper levels of magic? Or perhaps more powerful techniques?

Edward clearly understood the concept of "gains and losses."

The "Adapter T3500" resource quest (abbreviated as: Key Quest) in the Classic WoW server was a trivial matter for the Edward family. He knew that if he asked the elders of the Edward family, they definitely wouldn't support him trying new things. Because the Edward family was a VIP6+ high-level family, their members had guarded the otherworld for generations, making them one of the more noble families in the first-level map of that world. They didn't need to take any risks to enjoy countless benefits. Even their VIP recharge fees were basically covered by the gold coins generated from these benefits (the otherworld's pension system), requiring no further expenses. This was one of the reasons why Edward had always been so disciplined.

Everything has a cause; nothing exists in isolation. Things that exist independently are rare. —Nameless Precepts of Another World (6841.1384)

"Huh? That's Alyssa." Edward looked out the window and saw the figure of the intermediate priest, the pretty Alyssa, who was still training for her night run.

But he wouldn't greet her. He knew that Elisa liked Loki, and he also knew that Elisa would definitely go to the Classic server to find Loki.

At this moment, he truly envied Alyssa for being able to be alone, and even more so his friend Loki for having a girl who would still seek him out even if he went to the Classic version of the game...

Edward also longed for love. He knew quite a bit about the romances of handsome men and beautiful women; after all, he was often the object of admiration for girls from another world ("the nation's husband"). However, Edward hadn't yet met a girl as unique and serious as Elisa. On the contrary, Edward was somewhat attracted to her.

Edward's love life remains a mystery.
