Dark Eldar
412 Notice of Dismissal by Gludin
Fall in love with reading, starting now.
The sorrowful night seemed especially long. Under the cover of darkness, the rare elite Barbarian King devoured all the experience orbs from the treasure chest.
He didn't turn on the light, afraid of waking his beloved wife, "The Enchantress."
The Barbarian King had specifically set a "Do Not Disturb" mode, making the upgrade notification sound "dull and lifeless." This was something the student soldiers had always dreamed of.
Using the excuse of going to the restroom, the barbarian king, wearing inexpensive straw sandals and leaning on his cane, quickly and quietly went to the notice board at the city gate to post the latest "dismissal notice".
Seeing their lord, the Barbarian King, still working through the night, the soldiers on the city walls received a morale boost. They became even more dedicated. The patrolling green-eyed (lizardmen; night vision) became exceptionally alert, and their experience points increased dramatically (intelligence).
Around 5 a.m., the gurudin group chat was buzzing with excitement! No one knew about this beforehand. Most people thought something good was about to happen.
However......
"Fortunately, it's not a life-or-death situation. We can always start over!" said the Wild Assassin (level 79).
"That's right! That's right! Brother Warrior is right." - Farmer NPC (Level 44).
"Hi, Gludin's fate is not something we can decide," said the lizardman leader (level 310).
"Why? Why? This isn't fair!" An elderly NPC (orc) sobbed uncontrollably. She didn't want to leave this warm and welcoming city. If she and her family had maintained the same standard of living as before Gludin, and worked hard, their children could probably have even achieved their desired class change. However... (In the free level 2 map, since hero creation is free, it's actually harder to become an NPC. This is different from the main map. But one thing remains consistent: NPCs are still free to choose from. However, they cannot remain online and will be forcibly removed. If someone is too irritable or has a bad character, they cannot be created. Of course, there are also bad NPCs, whose existence is passively allowed by the system.)
At 9 o'clock sharp, the Barbarian King delivered his speech. After the speech, as compensation, he distributed all the Kevin Garnet currency from his warehouse as "compensation." Logically, everyone should have been satisfied.
However, some of their residents were still not satisfied. They wanted to unite and fight against the Dark Legion.
The Barbarian King knew of Dark's power and who his teacher, Ludal, was. He wanted to tell his men simply not to fight a losing battle. He didn't elaborate, fearing that some of the more extreme young student soldiers might cause trouble.
In fact, the young student soldiers simply took their pay and left. For them, time was money. Where they lived or leveled up was merely a matter of unbinding and rebinding their Hearthstone accounts. They didn't feel much of a sense of belonging.
The older villagers, however, were a bit extreme; they weren't usually like this. Perhaps they love their home too much and don't want to leave.
The barbarian king ordered the sentries to stop their posts and the city gates to be opened.
In the afternoon, only 13 heroes remained in Gludin City, as most heroes and NPCs had already left.
The Barbarian King continued to convene the meeting. He said, "My loyal supporters of Gludin, I understand your feelings. I know Gludin is our life's work. To show my sincerity, I will dismantle my golden weapon and share it with you. Metal resources are extremely scarce. I truly hope you will visit my homeland and see for yourselves; metals are cheap in our main map. Even a farmer can easily use an iron sickle."
The orcs, werewolves, and other elderly villagers, having received the gold, were finally satisfied. They smiled with contentment. They knew that even a few grams of gold would be enough to live comfortably for the rest of their lives. The barbarian king had done everything he could to satisfy them.
The Barbarian King's decomposition process did not involve breaking down the golden staff into gold elements; he used physical decomposition, a purely violent cutting method.
The alluring woman leaned against the doorframe, seeing the Barbarian King's generosity, and stroked her unborn baby with satisfaction. When the alluring woman married the Barbarian King, she wasn't after wealth, DPS, or levels. What she valued was the Barbarian King's character and reputation.
At night, Gludin was unusually quiet. Occasionally, pets and low-level livestock left behind would murmur.
Gludin is about to besiege the city!
Dark's Legion had also been reduced to an elite regiment. Its size was, of course, exceptionally large. Dark led his elite army, arriving in a grand procession outside Gludin's Gate. Every member of Dark's Legion's elite troops possessed a rare mount. The dust they kicked up took a long time to dissipate.
"Barbarian King, open the gates!" Ludar, riding a camel, led the charge, shouting for the city gates to be opened. To keep a low profile, Ludar deliberately chose a purple camel mount (a common mount).
The barbarian king personally opened the city gates and knelt on one knee to welcome Dark.
Dark hadn't seen the Barbarian King in a long time. He still remembered this rare elite monster, but not vividly. Dark had dealt with far too many subordinates; in his eyes, the Barbarian King was nothing more than an ordinary soldier.
Now that the barbarian king is the lord of the city and has consistently paid high tributes, Dark's impression of the barbarian king has changed. He now believes the barbarian king basically meets the requirements.
The vast army, upon seeing the imposing barbarian king, thought Lord Gurudin quite impressive. They secretly admired him.
As agreed, the mysterious figure appeared precisely on time through the portal. He opened the ancient, swirling, dark green portal, revealing a massive army, and chanted a spell. At its other end lay the legendary upgrade sanctuary—another world (main image; paid).
