Dark Eldar
36. The quirky and clever Rona
The centaur Bogor surrendered. Bogor assisted the Dark General Victor in collecting "Dark Crystals" from the corpses in the mountains. With these crystals, Victor's army could cast a spell to "recall" them.
Dark, the Dark Messenger, and the leader of the rebels returned to Yundal to continue their search for Loki or something else.
In the Void Fortress, Benjamin VI has arrived in the 17th Legion.
"Hello, brother, I'm here to report for duty. This is my badge and identification," Benjamin said to the werewolf guarding the gate of the 17th Legion. (Gatekeeper Werewolf, Level 13)
"Let me see!" The werewolf took the document; his fingernails were so sharp they almost pierced Benjamin's document.
"Here you go! Go! There's a battle tomorrow! You're lucky! Go inside and find the big guy to arrange things!" the werewolf said contemptuously. He didn't take Benjamin seriously, considering Benjamin was still too inexperienced; after all, he was level 13. (A level 30 werewolf is equivalent to a novice human mage, a level 50 werewolf is equivalent to an intermediate mage, and so on.)
The 17th Legion sounds impressive, but it only has about 100 men. Of course, if there are wanderers who can "split into multiple bodies," then the number could be estimated at 300. After splitting into multiple bodies, their combat effectiveness is greatly reduced.
The rebel barracks were a mess, filthy and reeking of all sorts of smells; Benjamin nearly vomited from the stench. There were orcish clothes, werewolf scraps of raw meat that looked rotting and emitted a foul odor, and several old, faded banshees—it was unclear whether they were female soldiers or something else. Loki went to the far end of the barracks.
A tall barbarian king is picking his toes. (This barbarian king is not a "rare elite" and is completely different from the barbarian kings beside Ludar. His height and combat strength are greatly reduced, 1:50.)
"Hello, Brother Barbarian King! I'm here to report for duty," Benjamin VI called out to him, fearing the Barbarian King might be too clumsy to hear him.
"I'm not deaf! Why are you shouting so loudly?" the barbarian king roared.
"Also, don't call me Barbarian King. I'm not the real Barbarian King. I'm just an ordinary Barbarian King monster. The real Barbarian King is with Lord Ludar! If you call me that directly, the real Barbarian King will be angry!" Benjamin didn't know anything about real or fake Barbarian Kings. In his eyes, even if the real Barbarian King came, he could still beat him down.
"Then how should I address you?" Benjamin asked, puzzled. He hadn't expected being a rebel soldier to be so interesting, and that the barbarian king was afraid of some other king.
"Just call me Commander! That's what they all call me. I'm the Commander of the 17th Regiment. I gave myself a nice name, it's called, what was it again? Damn it! I forgot again, my brain... Okay, okay! Just call me Commander for now! I'll tell you when I remember." Ordinary monsters have smaller brains, their memories are much worse than elite monsters, and their emotions are not as rich. However, this Commander can be considered a "mini-elite".
"Find a place to sleep yourself. A lot of people died last month, so there are plenty of empty seats! We'll set off first thing tomorrow morning! If you want to eat, well, go to the canteen near the gate and get some! Eat whatever you want. Dinner will be served promptly at 6 o'clock! Remember! 6 o'clock! I'm going to sleep now, ah~~ I'm so sleepy~~~" After saying that, the leader closed his eyes and started snoring without moving.
Benjamin turned to look for a bed.
"My God! It's so dirty! There's no place to stay! Am I really going to have to sleep here tonight? Oh my God." Benjamin shook his head, wanting to leave.
"You can sleep here with me, handsome!" came a girl's voice.
Benjamin looked in the direction of the sound.
In the corner of the corridor against the wall, a thin human girl on the upper bunk was greeting him. Benjamin walked over.
"What's your name? What are you doing here?" Benjamin asked.
"My name is Rona, and I'm an assassin. Don't underestimate me!" Rona was quirky and mischievous, exuding a chilling aura.
"My name is Ben, and I'm a shooter." Benjamin didn't dare say his real name; his identification only had the single-letter name "Ben" printed on it.
"Archer? We can swap equipment! Let me see your bow and arrow!" Rona said, pointing.
"Here you go!" Benjamin generously took it off to show her; to him, this blue "exquisite rattan bow" was merely for show.
"Wow! It's so light, blue level 5! Where did you get it?" Rona asked.
"Forged, I can give it to you if you want. Enchanted with +330 Agility, hope it's useful."
Enchantment attributes are hidden magic, and ordinary people cannot see them.
"330 Agility! That's amazing! I love it! What do you use?" Rona asked, blinking her big eyes.
"Yeah, what should I use? A staff?" Actually, Benjamin really wanted to use a staff.
"Here, take mine. Look!" Rona swiftly pulled a weapon from the backpack near the pillow.
"Crocodile Bone Throwing Knife"! (Dropped from "Crocodile Lake"; Blue Level 5; Unenchanted)
"You can also enchant it with Agility, but I don't have any extra gold coins. Enchanters aren't easy to find around here. I'll use your bow tomorrow, and I think I can return it to you. Are you comfortable using throwing knives? The 'Crocodile Bone' attack speed is too slow. I'm good at finishing off enemies with melee weapons. What about you, brother?"
"I'm alright. You said there were still empty beds here? Is that right?" Benjamin asked, scratching his head. He had changed his mind.
"Yeah, that's my lower bunk. It used to be an orc warrior, but he's already dead. I've cleaned it up. We don't have a priest, so you'd better be careful tomorrow. Don't be like him," Rona joked.
She didn't actually want Ben to die so soon. She hadn't seen such a handsome "kin" in a long time.
