Dark Eldar

317 The Wisdom of Marcus

Ludar initially considered recruiting the elven prince Irete and his sister, the elven princess Eliza. However, he decisively abandoned the idea. Dark's "spies" were everywhere, and he feared Dark would reprimand him. A "rich and beautiful" woman would be too conspicuous in a high-level hero's critical strike group. During secret missions, things like feints and deliberately drawing aggro might be problematic. And what about the impulsive and arrogant elven prince Irete's potential for impulsiveness? Ludar opted for a less ideal solution, intending to recruit a "master" into the team first: the tenacious human mage, Markars the Frost Mage; level 55!

Markus, wielding a nine-piece "Scout Staff," had carefully groomed himself. He hadn't, and dared not, refuse Ludal's invitation to join his party. In the Dark Legion, although Ludal wasn't as "gloomy" or "terrifying" as Dark...

Ludar has a tiny bit of "humanity"? Having roamed the level 2 map for years, he still has some "self-awareness"... The tenacious human spiritual leader, Markarth, strides with agile steps, leaning on his staff, each tap on the ground marking three steps forward. His gray "disheveled hair," though not a free costume, is something money can't buy; it represents his "arduous life"—no! A more accurate description would be "a mostly arduous life"!

"You've arrived, Markars? Welcome!" Ludar uttered a line. (Note: When greeting a hero like Markars, who is rich in "life experience" and "knowledge," Ludar is quite polite. If we really calculate based on "online time," Markars isn't necessarily older than Ludar, but in a level 2 map, regardless of "time difference," it's possible that Markars is just a "student soldier" offline. Judging from his speech and behavior, he seems to be a "middle-aged man"...)

Marcus quickly prepared to perform a grand salute.

But Marcus was still preparing to bend over very slowly when Ludal, who was "clever," stopped him in time.

"Hey! We've been friends for ages, why bother, why bother!" Ludar quickly stepped forward to help the old mage up. At this moment, he didn't feel like he was willing or unwilling. He wouldn't waste any unnecessary thoughts on Marcus. Both Ludar and Marcus were perfectly aware that their relationship was one of "mutual exploitation."

"Please sit, Marcus. Other leaders will be joining us later. As you've probably heard, I invited you in first because I wanted you to be my adjutant, that is, the rank of deputy regimental commander." Ludar's tone carried a commanding tone. He also issued corresponding instructions. (Names Tab)

"Well then, I shall respectfully accept your invitation, Your Excellency Ludal! Please allow me to address you as such in private, for calling you 'Butler' would seem inappropriate for your noble status. In my heart, you have always been the most respected High Commander." Marcus spoke eloquently and skillfully in his flattery.

On his way to meet Ludar, he already knew he might be appointed to a position. If it were too low, he would have used "feigning illness" or "other reasons" to decline. But it was "Vice Commander"? A position with real power! Marcus readily accepted. (Note: Ludar recruited the "temporary assault squad," and he first brought in the stubborn old FS Marcus, for another reason: the "special relationship" between Marcus and the elven princess Eliza. Offline, others, or anyone else would mistakenly assume they were in a romantic relationship? But Ludar knew perfectly well! "It's definitely a publicity stunt!!" He even privately bet with himself, if it were a romantic relationship, wouldn't he also have the right to pursue her?) The stunningly beautiful Princess Eliza? Perhaps Ludar isn't as handsome as Markars? Ludar's face was burned by the "Arcane Energy Wave" of the deceased high-level mage "Wang Meng" in his youth, and it hasn't fully healed yet... He often needs to apply ice to his face or take other expensive red medicines to relieve the pain... Ludar's magic backpack contains a large quantity of "pain-relieving" potions, ShiftB, which he had prepared beforehand. However, Ludar doesn't usually "heal" his wounds regularly; he even enjoys the certain satisfaction that pain brings him? (Omitted)

The elderly Marcus smiled subtly. Perhaps he could guess Ludar's true thoughts? Or perhaps not. But one thing the old mage Marcus knew perfectly well: "I absolutely dare not confront this military master, Ludar, before me. In terms of level and DPS?" Marcus admitted he was no match. "Perhaps I am stronger than Ludar in some aspects? But in what specific aspects? I can't say for sure yet."

"Perhaps he's afraid to reveal his true abilities?" Ludall

"After all, from the first time I met him in the water dungeon many years ago until now, this so-called 'spiritual leader mage' of the level 2 map... hasn't actually cast a single spell or skill??" Ludar

"Markars? Take a look at my recruitment notice, isn't it alright? You know, Commander Dark likes to make a scene. If we secretly recruit people and set off, even if Lord Dark sees that it was his order, he'll definitely still be unhappy. What do you think?" Ludar retorted. To be honest, Ludar had always been observing Markars, the human Frost Mage, from the shadows. Today was actually their first close encounter.
