Dark Eldar

184 Cataclysms

A true hero is fearless, indifferent to money, and perfect. —Otherworldly Rules 73112

Everyone knows they're unworthy of the title "hero." Reality and ideals can never truly align. Reality is reality, and ideals aren't entirely bad; sometimes they do "shine" into reality.

In this "other world," Elder Schopenhauer was filled with anxiety, seemingly somewhat unaccustomed to the sudden "changes."

Schopenhauer convened a meeting of all the elders. (Group message, "limited")

"Gentlemen, based on the information we have gathered so far, it seems our era is nearing its end," Elder Schopenhauer said solemnly.

"What? You still don't know? They..." (whispers)

"Master Schopenhauer is never wrong; his predictions have always been accurate." (Whispers)

In this otherworldly palace, the only one unaffected is "Eden." They live completely isolated from the world, in another "world." (Eden is a "Saintess" type of character development game, a DNS-based game where all the characters are beautiful women. While the skills are the familiar "Charm" and "Healing" mechanics, the Eden maidens' "Charm" is completely different from the "Banshee's" charm—it possesses "irresistible force"! It even works on female enemies, and other creatures like wildebeest, antelopes, and male twilight bronze dragons are also "tempted.")

"Ahem! Please be quiet!" Elder Schopenhauer cleared his throat and continued speaking.

Most of the elders present were quiet, with those whispering among themselves being the werewolf father and son Wolfd, the fire elemental elder, and others in other "idle" positions. Some of the otherworldly elders had misallocated their talent points early on, adding "Armor," "Golden Body," and "Spirit." They were assigned to guard the "Void Rift" or "specialize in meditation"... all "idle" positions. Although their levels were high, their attack power was average, and they weren't qualified to be tanks (their self-healing was too slow). In short, they were elders with seniority and experience, but not very useful.

"I heard they've been getting some amazing artifacts..."

"What?" "Yeah, I heard about it too... I might get one too," George Wong whispered. (This is intentional; in the revised version, the wolf clan attempts to break away from the alternate world and "establish their own faction.")

Whispers continued from the audience. They were still talking.

"Wolfd, I really don't understand, what right do you have to gossip like this?!" Elder Schopenhauer was furious.

The scene immediately fell silent.

"I do not wish to restrict your freedom of speech; the other world will always be democratic. But when I speak, please be sure to remain quiet, as it was in the past and as it is now," Elder Schopenhauer continued calmly.

"After level 30, the multiple worlds have become increasingly different. The actions of 'Order' are unpredictable. This is where dreams begin, and where dreams come true. I attempted to 'establish new connections' (an Elder-level Priest-type spell, job-restricted), but it offered no 'hints' or 'leave a message'... It seems we must rely on ourselves." Elder Schopenhauer's speech grew slower and heavier, his tone increasingly somber. He sensed that leading from now on would be truly difficult. (Note: Level 30 overview: Level cap removed, new professions and maps gradually unlocked; the other world is no longer the core of the multiple worlds. A new, hidden force is emerging, their level several times higher than that of the other world. There's also the appearance of "Invincible Armor" and the "darkening" setting. In short, it will be a more complex and profound "virtual world"...)

In versions 25-29 (the Joseph era), not only Elder Schopenhauer had connections with the Dark Eldar, but also Elder Neltharion the Flame (Dragon), Elder Demacia (Kevin Gari), and Elder Izora (Elf) all interacted with the Dark Eldar. Some fought bravely against them, while others submitted.

"I have much to say, but my purpose is singular: our otherworld is always the 'core' of the world continent! We must unite, invent new magic to resist all this, and quickly recall all the wandering mages—Loki! Benjamin VI! Marsa—they must all return. Together, we must find a way to fight off the impending invasion!!" Elder Schopenhauer finished speaking. A burst of enthusiastic applause and cheers erupted from the audience.

All the elders accepted the order and went about their tasks. Some returned to relay the message to their apprentices, some sent out invitations, and others, like Elder Sun Yun, retrieved the summoning stone to summon all the mid-to-high-level mages from other worlds who were out on missions. Of course, this included Loki!

Wenger (325621) is an exceptionally large map. Orcs prefer to live in the wilderness, and their maps are quite large. It would take a month to walk across an entire orc map, demonstrating just how vast they are.

Loki and Benjamin planned to continue their journey to the next map in search of the "Marked Ones" (a world quest), and they both received a "Gathering Message" almost simultaneously. Loki was summoned by Elder Sun Yun, while Benjamin VI was directly summoned by Elder Schopenhauer. ("Otherworldly Gathering Spell," effective for 1 hour)

"Beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep beep!" Loki turned off the "notification" sound and looked at Benjamin, who was tired from walking.

Benjamin was very anxious! He wiped his sweat, shook his head, and dared not turn it off; he definitely had to go back immediately!

"Brother Loki, I have to go, the war is urgent!" Benjamin said anxiously, large beads of sweat dripping down his face.

"Okay, you go back first! I'll think about it some more," Loki said calmly.

"OK! Bye-bye!"

"886!"

With a "whoosh!", Benjamin vanished. It would take him five minutes to get back. (The synchronous teleportation function was not enabled. To prevent a "mutiny," the Order had disabled this function after the "Dark Eldar Cataclysm.")
