Dark Eldar

138. Lack of a pastor

Ludal suffered far more defeats than victories, especially in his early days. Back then, the so-called rebels were nothing. Before Ludal left (before departing this other world), the "rebels" had already amassed considerable power! They controlled over 50 fortresses and towns (without a main city), and a vast army of wanderers was under Ludal's command. Even the white wolf clan among the werewolves had "submitted."

Past "excellence" cannot explain today's achievements. Ludar is no exception! He had to start anew.

"Fortunately, we have elite troops! Otherwise, it would be extremely difficult..." On the edge of the grassland, Ludar carefully deployed his defenses. The number and density of his wards were deliberate. (Wards are defensive items that can provide nearby heroes with emergency status effects, health regeneration, and other assistance!)

"...That kind of transparent pink lipstick base looks so pretty... Otherwise, my crush would definitely be an invincible war god..." (whispering)

It turned out to be a few female soldiers' leaders chatting. They seemed to be discussing "makeup" and "how to attract men"?

"Hey! What are you doing? If you don't want to fight, get out!" Luddar shouted after discovering them!

The old city lord's daughter, Joan Luna, led the conversation. (Joan Luna, 16 years old, sweet-looking, rebellious. Ever since her father, Hawkwell, was killed by Dark, she has been determined to become a warrior to avenge him! Dark, for the sake of his reputation, did not eliminate her completely. Besides, Dark doesn't care about any woman.)

The battalion commander, "Enchantress," winked at Jonjo Luna! They now addressed each other as sisters. There was practically no superior-subordinate relationship. Jonjo Luna had already leveled up to 37 after the Zerg defense war—a phenomenal leveling speed!! (Luna treated the larvae like Darkrai, nearly exhausting herself in the process...)

"Be careful next time! I don't want to say it a second time!" Ludar scolded sternly, preparing to leave. He knew, "Women are easily embarrassed, especially pretty girls..." (turning a blind eye).

Regarding his other female subordinate, the "Enchantress," Ludar refused to reveal any information about her (rumored to be from the mysterious "Garden of Eden"). At the beginning of their team-up, they had agreed on three rules: no prying into her past; no discussing feelings (plus: the Enchantress was forbidden from using her charm on Ludar!); and no delays in payment! The Enchantress's "salary" was many times that of the Barbarian King and his crew. This amount shouldn't have been a problem for Ludar, but given the current situation—Kevengarni's metal resources were scarce and gold was hard to obtain—Ludar had already started giving the Enchantress IOUs! It was agreed that after they left, the exchange rate would remain the same as in the current Kevingarni world (1:136). In other words, the Enchantress's current salary, calculated in another world, would be roughly equivalent to 100G per day... As for the Barbarian King, the Slayer, and the Bounty Hunter (two people), they dared not object! It wasn't that they lacked economic acumen, but rather that they dared not bring up the matter of a "salary increase"... ...

Seeing that the female soldiers had quieted down, Ludar left. He was already adept at "basic and intermediate management." (Mastered)

In other groups, there were orcs and elite half-human monsters with high levels of testosterone. Upon hearing the female soldiers' "cheerful laughter," they weren't distracted; instead, they became even more focused, even more "fervent" and "warlike"! (This was Ludar's scheme; he intentionally placed the "beauties" near the orcs.)

The first night is over. All the "eyes" are essentially ineffective. (Duration: 24 hours)

Ludal ordered the Death Knight mage to continue "replenishing eyes" and strengthen the defenses. Dark appeared, looking somewhat anxious. He thought, "Since I've already given the authorization, it's not good to interfere now... Let's wait and see..." (Although Dark was easily angered, he was ultimately quite rational; otherwise, he wouldn't have become the Dark Messenger.)

The morning continued with "rest and recuperation." At noon, Ludar ordered the logistics cooks to use their best skills (intermediate-level chefs) to prepare a good meal, even if it meant wasting "military rations."

Ludar patiently waited until everyone had eaten and drunk their fill (a bonus for full eating, all stats +2) before ordering them to set off! They continued their journey, traveling from afternoon until dusk, before finally setting up camp again.

Inside the tent, Dak appeared! Ludar hurriedly knelt down!

"No need for formalities in wartime. Please rise!" Dak said politely. He suppressed his many doubts and wanted to hear Ludal's assessment first.

"Lord Dark! Why don't we launch a night raid? We'll set off at 20 PM, catching the enemy off guard before dawn! We still have plenty of time! Like most cities in this world, I believe Kent's defenses will be at their weakest in the early morning!" Ludar said confidently.

"Then why?" Dark asked, his eyes wide.

"My lord, this plan must be known only to the two of us! Beware of spies!" Ludar whispered.

"A spy?" Dark questioned! He felt that with his authority, Gludin wouldn't dare to have a spy among him!

"Sir, you are mistaken! The human heart is unfathomable; they will send emails secretly (using a postman), and you will remain completely unaware! And, and more!"

"Add what else? Stop beating around the bush, Ludar!"

"We have no priests, we..." Ludar finally revealed his unspeakable predicament.

Dark elemental creatures, upon death, can be transformed into crystals and brought back to the temple for resurrection (with their level and combat power halved). However, if no action is taken within the effective timeframe after Ludar's death, he will truly perish. (Otherworldly limitation: Hero resurrection time is 1 month, including order approval and "reconsideration" time.)

"Okay! I understand! Carry out your plan! I believe you have the ability to change your destiny!" Dak didn't say much more. Regarding life and death, he had neither the ability nor the obligation to provide any recourse to Ludar. "Mutual exploitation" is generally incomparable to "life." Except in special circumstances.
