Dark Eldar
122 New Adventures
In this world, there are those who are "lucky" enough to be kissed by a demon or angel, leaving a deep, indelible mark (a contract) on their bodies ("the marked ones"). They are not distinguished by race, gender, age, wealth, or social status; the magical mark of the devil or god will constantly motivate them to strive! Strive! Strive even harder!! If they break the "contract" along the way... what remains is "emptiness," endless "nothingness." —Otherworldly Rules 10.1
No one has ever seen the "Marked One." The quest "Find the Marked One" is available to anyone in the world chat—even ancient people, elite monsters, or ordinary monsters with a bit of sense—"unrestricted"! The rewards are quite generous: 30 experience points, 20 gold coins, and the opportunity for "advanced study in another world." Elder Schopenhauer wanted to increase the rewards further, but Elder Sun Yun stopped him, advising, "Increasing the rewards will entice more professional mages. To level up, they will often choose to accept this quest, even though it's difficult to complete. Apprentice mages will stop at nothing to achieve it!"
Elder Schopenhauer accepted the "strategist's" advice; the initial intention behind the mass quest was "participation is key," aiming to find the so-called "destined ones." Which ancestor is fortunate enough to receive the 30 experience points reward will instantly advance to level 20! Then, they may become a beginner or intermediate mage in this world "for free"! (Note: This may include activation codes, limited-time free top-ups, free CD-Ks, limited-time free VIP, etc., but it's far from enough to advance to a high-level mage later.)
Loki has been studying the 10.1 commandment a lot lately, wanting to explore the origins of the "contract" and, incidentally, help the young priestess, Alyssa. Benjamin (already in a party) is unaware that if Loki finds the "marked one," he probably won't get any of the 30 experience points. (30 experience points are barely enough for Edward to level up by about a third; although not much, it's still considerable!)
"Are you ready? Have you brought all the skill books you need? You know I don't like teleporting around! That's not my style." In the dormitory corridor, Loki and Benjamin VI were talking. They were scheduled to depart early the next morning and had already reported to Sun Yun and Master Schopenhauer. In recent years, Loki had gradually learned some "social etiquette." In the past, he would have definitely left without saying a word. Benjamin VI, of course, had to submit an application to his teacher; the "formalities" of this other world still applied to Benjamin.
Edward III watched Loki and Benjamin walk away silently, recalling the wondrous journey he and Loki had undertaken to bring back the Black Dragon King's second-in-command... He even considered joining them, wanting to be free and unrestrained. But! In an instant!! A powerful force of will pulled him back to reality! Edward resolved to become a top-tier mage in this other world, to find his own divine artifact! — For example, the "Spear of Life" or "Chroise"! ("Spear of Life": Said to be the ultimate divine artifact of light capable of creating life! Drop location unknown!! Legendary main-hand battle spear of the "Creator"!!!)
"How's it going? Your pace's alright, right? You're younger than me! Here's some equipment for you. I didn't bring a magic backpack, but I've filled it with energy gems; we should be able to use it later!"
Edward took it and looked at it! "Advanced Guide"??
He was greatly surprised. He had seen many guides, but a purple one? This was the first time he had ever seen one! It was forged by Loki in Yundar a few years ago.
"Give it a try. Its raw material is a red-eyed monster, a flying, freakish creature! Back then, I had limited raw materials..." Loki shared some interesting anecdotes with Benjamin as they walked.
Benjamin actually tried it out. He put the grape and nut bread he carried with him and the raw beef slices into the guide. Three seconds later, he got "Grape and Nut Meat Floss Biscuits with Enhanced Mental State" from the lower exit!
"Brother Loki, here you go!" Benjamin politely handed it to the wizard Loki first.
"Thank you! Guess what will happen?" Loki wanted to give Benjamin a surprise.
"Wow, Delicious! Huh?" Benjamin felt lightheaded and in high spirits. He floated up without consuming any extra mana. (Each 10 milligrams provides 5 minutes of levitation; a complete magic biscuit allows for approximately 2 hours of low-altitude flight; not bound, consumable; Use: Restores 300 health and 200 mana over 20 seconds. Cannot remain seated while eating. If you spend at least 10 seconds eating, you will receive the Fully Fed effect, increasing your Versatility by 5 for 1 hour.)
