Chapter 19 The Overlord of Hedong

Attila was an extremely brave fighter, always charging ahead on the battlefield and single-handedly taking on thousands of enemies.

His subordinates were greatly encouraged by their leader's bravery and skill in battle, and each of them was eager to be the first to fight and ashamed to lag behind.

The armored cavalry formed a sharp wedge formation, like a steel blade piercing into the already scattered and demoralized Bloodhoof Guards, slashing left and right as if entering an empty field.

As the "fire bull formation" retreated, only a hundred chieftain guards remained to protect the "bride" as she tried to escape back to the tribe... but they were surrounded and cut off by countless rangers.

Seeing that the situation was hopeless, the captain of the guard had no choice but to order his men to lay down their spears and surrender to Attila's forces.

After accepting the surrender, Attila swaggered up to Piqué's daughter, only to find her already terrified and looking utterly pitiful.

Attila's appetite was whetted, and without saying a word, he pulled the "beautiful centaur" into his arms: "Don't be alarmed, miss! With me here, no one will dare to be rude to you!"

Your father is stubborn and repeatedly opposes me, so I can't let him off the hook; as for you, I might give you a chance to turn over a new leaf...

……

That night, as usual, it was deathly silent.

This is the darkest hour before dawn, and also the time when the Bloodhoof tribe is most relaxed and vigilant.

The waters of the Great Marsh flowed silently into the Hun River, and the camps of the lakeside tribes were quiet, with only a few fires dotting the landscape.

Led by Luke, the demon army, wielding weapons and trampling through the silver blossoms, charged toward the camp ahead...

When Chief Pike noticed something amiss and hastily assembled his warriors for battle, Luke's forces had already stormed the camp.

Through long-term struggles against the centaur tribes, Luke has developed a very practical "three-pronged" battle strategy:

First, the ogre heavy infantry, with their massive bodies, cleared the way.

Before the two armies even clashed, heavy spears, each two meters long, came flying with a strong gust of wind; anyone who touched them would die!

The javelin throwers effectively killed both men and cavalry, while also creating chaos and opening gaps in the enemy's defenses.

Then Attila's centaur raiders began their charge, tasked with breaking through, tearing apart, and annihilating the main enemy force.

Finally, the centaur rangers and human cavalry appeared, first suppressing the enemy with arrows, then engaging in close combat to completely wipe out all the enemy's combat-ready troops.

Piqué's troops were first weakened when they attacked the three tribes of the Great Swamp; then their elite troops were annihilated by Attila's "fire bull formation" during the day... Now only two or three thousand remnants remain, no match for Luke's army.

Under the combined onslaught of ogres and centaurs, who fought with both infantry and cavalry, the Bloodhoof tribe was utterly powerless and collapsed at the first touch.

Soon, the scales of victory tipped in Luke's favor.

Pique led his personal guards, hacking and slashing through the enemy ranks, their leather armor stained with blood.

But one person's strength is ultimately insufficient to control the entire battle. One by one, the men protecting him fell, and their numbers dwindled... He gradually found himself surrounded.

Looking around, all he could see were mounted riders clad in wolfskin armor and wielding nomadic scimitars; there was no possibility of breaking through.

Seeing that the outcome was already decided, Attila was not in a hurry to annihilate the remaining troops. Instead, he ordered his army to surround them in the center, with arrows nocked and ready to be fired.

He spurred his horse forward and shouted at Piqué, "Surrender now, or you'll have a chance to live!"

Pique laughed loudly, his laughter echoing across the entire grassland.

"Attila, treat Bloodhoof's people well... I will die without regret!"

Amidst the cries of several guards, Pique brandished his steel sword, blood splattering five steps ahead, and committed suicide in front of Luke's thousands of soldiers!

Although the centaur chieftain was greedy and arrogant, he deserved his fate... but seeing his courage in the end, Luke couldn't help but feel a sense of admiration.

Looking at the bewildered thousand-odd "Bloodhoof" warriors, he sighed and ordered, "Those who wish to surrender, lay down your weapons... the rest, kill them without mercy!"

[Accepted the next level of Attila's tyrant quest - Unify the Hun River Basin]

[Mission Reward: Activate new unit type - Centaur Khan's Guard]

It wasn't until dawn that Luke's troops finished cleaning up the battlefield and completed the inventory and takeover of the entire Bloodhoof tribe.

At the same time, Attila's exclusive mission was completed, unlocking a new unit type - Centaur Heavy Cavalry.

Originally, the Bloodhoof tribe was a large tribe with 8,000 people under its rule, but after several heavy blows, the remaining number was less than 6,000... most of whom were the elderly, weak, women and children.

Only about 1,500 able-bodied men and horses remained in service... They were scattered and mixed into Attila's army, forming a legion of 500 raiders and 5,000 rangers.

Of course, this force is only temporary. Attila still needs to go through a round of selection and training to incorporate the new unit, the Centaur Heavy Cavalry, into the organization before he can complete the transformation of his troops.

Today, Attila commands five tribes: the Bend, Bloodhoof, Rottenmos, Brokentail, and Waterswamp, with a force exceeding ten thousand men, far surpassing the size of smaller tribes numbering in the thousands.

At the same time, his sphere of influence expanded from the river bend to both sides of the Great Marshland, occupying "two bends" of the Hun River's nine bends.

If the Hun River is divided into three sections—"west," "middle," and "east"—Attila has become the undisputed overlord of the entire eastern river basin, and the remaining small tribes are no threat.

Its power was comparable only to the five major clans, including the "Mane" and "Iron Hoof".

Attila also officially integrated the five tribes and established a brand new clan – the "Huns" clan!

Of course, Attila wouldn't forget her mission to "produce more offspring," and soon selected twenty or thirty fair-skinned and beautiful young female warriors from various tribes to fill her "harem"...

Even Luke couldn't help but exclaim: This guy's body is really in great shape!

"Mr. Luke, Mr. Luke!"

Just as they were returning in triumph, a goblin merchant rushed from the east to the Bloodhoof tribe's camp.

He trotted up to Luke, looking extremely anxious.

Luke recognized the goblin as a member of Mobutu's "Goblin Merchants" group, named Hef—a skilled accountant with excellent eloquence, and Mobutu's right-hand man.

Today, merchant groups have established a firm foothold in border trade.

They not only monopolized the upstream fur supply chain of the eight major trading markets, but also controlled more than 50% of the fur business on the market, making a fortune.

I believe it won't be long before I can accumulate 1000 gold coins and complete Mobutu's "Tyrant" mission... The situation is clearly very good, but I don't know what's making it so flustered?

"What happened?" Luke asked, frowning.

Hef, panting, said, "Yesterday morning, just as the trading company opened, two elven guards arrived... and arrested Mr. Mobutu on charges of price gouging, throwing him in jail!"
