Chapter 11 The Prisoners of the Reach

"The entire army was wiped out, and you're the only one who came back?"

Lord Na'vi's gaze was sharp as a knife, as if he wanted to pierce through the person in front of him completely.

The patrol captain felt a chill run down his spine and bowed even lower.

He escaped death by feigning death on the battlefield... Of course, I couldn't tell him the details, so I could only vaguely explain:

"I'm not dying so I can report the truth to the adults... otherwise, who knows how long those despicable humans would keep it from us!"

"Humans, ogres, centaurs. These races that don't want to cooperate have united to rebel against me... and the leader is even a human! It's utterly ridiculous!"

"I swear in the name of Immen that every word I have said is true and there is not a single falsehood in it."

Oh, and the man in charge also kidnapped an elf lady…”

"What did you say?"

Baron Forth, standing nearby, suddenly turned pale and asked urgently, "What does that young lady look like? What kind of clothes is she wearing?"

"That's her! My fiancée! No wonder we couldn't find her..." The patrol captain described Messiah's appearance, and Fox nearly stumbled. "...So she was kidnapped by those traitorous humans!"

Lord Nawei offered words of comfort, then coldly turned and said, "You deserter, how dare you come back to see me... Guards, drag him away and deal with him according to military law!"

After dealing with the patrol captain, Forth finally caught his breath, his eyes still burning with rage: "Lord Neville, put the matter of taking back the horses aside for now. I have a request... Please lend me your troops. I want to crush the human rebels and reclaim the Messiah!"

As a man, Neville looked at Forth with sympathy: "I understand how you feel, but these rebels are not something an ordinary army can deal with... Here's what we'll do, give me a few days."

"I can muster 100 knights from the North, 1500 knightly squires, and 3000 commoner spearmen. I guarantee I'll avenge you for stealing my wife!"

------

Before the long table meeting at Mubao, River Bend.

Attila pondered for a moment, then frowned and said, "This elf knows too much; she must not be allowed to live! Lord Luke, please execute her."

Rogge looked reluctant: "Those high elves are villains who oppress humans. We can kill them, but to slaughter unarmed, innocent women and children is just too much..."

"By the time she gets back and reports this place, it will be too late!" Attila slammed his fist on the table. "She shouldn't die, but does that mean all the women and children in our fortress deserve to die?"

"I also think this woman shouldn't have been killed..." Luke interrupted their argument.

"My lord, a merciful ruler cannot command an army!" Attila hurriedly advised.

"I'm not being soft-hearted..." Luke waved his hand, "I just feel that this elf dared to come to our door, so there must be something important behind her... There must be important information on her waiting for us to uncover, so it would be a waste to kill her now."

Upon hearing this, everyone nodded silently, agreeing that what was said made sense.

Seeing no further objections, Luke raised an eyebrow and immediately made a decision: "Leave this woman in Wood Castle for now. Roger, have her under close guard... and ensure her safety as well."

Having decided on Myrcella's fate, Luke went to the dungeon, intending to interrogate her first.

Although Myrcella looked somewhat haggard in the prison, her beauty remained undiminished. Luke's heart skipped a beat: This was a female elf; she appeared even more delicate than human women, unlike the fierce and menacing male elves.

"What's your name?"

Mysella glanced at him with her beautiful eyes, but did not reply.

Luke chuckled. "You asked so many questions before, why are you suddenly mute?"

"Send me back to White Deer Castle, and someone will give you what you want," Mysella said coldly.

"You've seen our true colors and know the location of our headquarters... If you were me, would you release them?" Luke said, drawing his scimitar from his waist.

"So...you've come to kill me?" Mysera's heart skipped a beat, and she instinctively took a few steps back.

"Only now do you realize you're afraid... You were quite bold when you were being followed."

With a swift motion, he brought down the knife, and Mysera couldn't help but close her eyes.

The next second, his hand loosened, and when he opened his eyes, he realized that Luke had cut the rope for him.

"I can let you go out for some fresh air, but you can't leave the wooden fortress even a step..."

Of course, this is the wilderness. Even if you manage to escape, you'll have no chance of returning to White Hart Castle alive.

Mysella couldn't believe her ears: "You're actually letting me out?"

Luke smiled confidently: "You want to understand us, don't you? Then observe us with your own eyes."

"Wait a moment!"

As Luke was leaving, she suddenly called him back.

"I...I'm called Mysella, what's your name?"

Everyone calls me Luke.

Stepping out of the dark and gloomy cell, the sunlight made Mysella squint, and it took her a while to adjust.

When she saw everything in the wooden fortress, she was somewhat surprised: it turned out that this was not the vicious and terrifying "den of bandits" she had imagined.

The men chopped wood and hoeed the fields, working diligently; the women laughed and lit fires to cook; the children played and frolicked in the fields… Everything that happened was no different from the millions of ordinary villages in the southern empire.

Mysella took a step and climbed the walls of the wooden fortress, wanting to see the scenery in the distance.

The entire river bend is laid out before you.

During these days, through raids on slave caravans, Luke's population grew rapidly, and the revolutionary ranks also expanded.

Today, the population of the "Free People" has easily exceeded ten thousand, and they have built a total of five wooden forts, which are spread out one after another along the long river, like a network.

Smoke curled from the chimneys of each wooden fortress, teeming with life, while clusters of small wooden houses stood side by side.

Mysera is located at the heart of the River Bend fortress complex. Backed by Ono Peak, it is easy to defend and difficult to attack; towering watchtowers surround it, with ravines and spikes everywhere... the entire defensive system is almost impenetrable.

Meanwhile, two large camps guarded the wooden fortress on the opposite bank of the river:

The one to the west, with its infantry as strong as mountains and spears as numerous as forests, where the sounds of training and hammering could be heard incessantly, was the camp of Amin the cannibal.

To the east, cavalrymen swept across the land with lightning speed, raising clouds of dust and thundering hooves—this was Attila's centaur garrison.

Here, some people were working and producing, while others were guarding and patrolling. It was a well-functioning, organized society... Mysella was quite engrossed in watching.

Just as Roger was about to step forward to stop her, Luke smiled and shook his head: "If you want others to lower their guard, you must first learn to trust them yourself... Let her be."

Luke was about to turn back when he suddenly remembered something: "By the way, this time we were lucky to have received the intelligence that Bill had gathered in advance, so we learned that the Na'vi cavalry had been deployed in large numbers and had sent out a large number of patrols in the border area... Otherwise, we would have suffered a loss if we had been unprepared!"

We have recently made remarkable progress in accepting and expanding our fellow human beings, and the Reach is thriving. In addition, the High Elves' defenses are more robust than before... I think we should put the matter of going south to liberate the slaves on hold for now.

Also, summon Attila to the command room—I have important matters to discuss with him!
