Wizard: I can predict the future

Chapter 74 Proof of Counter-evidence

Soren watched the reactions of the crowd, a hint of pleasure flashing in his eyes.

But he immediately suppressed this feeling of pleasure.

He raised his hand and pointed at Joanna, his voice much calmer.

"Nord Blank"

"During the Pharmacist Association's evaluation process, the trial participant's mental energy level showed abnormalities. According to the academy's regulations, the evaluation must be suspended immediately."

"All unused and taken medications must be sealed up immediately."

His voice rose a few decibels as he spoke.

"Otherwise, if more serious consequences occur, it will probably not be explained away as an experimental accident."

As soon as he finished speaking, the commotion around him grew louder.

It is unclear whether Joanna's signs of mental breakdown alerted the nearby apprentices, or if someone was deliberately stirring things up in the dark.

The once remote and deserted abandoned building has gradually attracted more and more wizard apprentices.

Some people stood at the back of the crowd, tiptoeing to peer inside, while others even used levitation to hover in the air, watching Joanna fall to the ground.

Nord looked at Soren quietly, his heart unmoved, but he breathed a sigh of relief.

If Warwick was the mastermind behind this incident, he might have an even bigger headache.

But for Sauron, it would obviously be much easier.

However, Nord didn't rush to explain; instead, he slowly walked to Joanna's side.

He knelt down and placed his hand on Joanna.

A faint magical shield quickly unfolded, separating her from the people around her.

Soren frowned.

"Nord, what do you want to do?"

Nord did not turn around; his voice was calm.

"Isolate from external magical interference."

"Or do you prefer her to just die, so there's no way to prove anything?"

Soren's expression froze for a moment, but he quickly recovered.

"Nord, you can't just say things like that."

"I just don't want innocent people to die tragically."

"After all, she only started having problems after taking your medicine."

As he spoke, his gaze swept over the growing number of wizard apprentices around him.

"Everyone is watching now."

"Every time you get close to her, every time you use magic, you may change the reaction of the medicine on her body."

"Even if the Pharmacists' Association arrives, how will they determine whether she died from a drug malfunction or from your mishandling of the situation?"

Nord stood up and looked at Soren and his group.

"really."

"In that case, none of us can leave until the Pharmacists Association and the enforcement team arrive."

Soren's smile froze instantly, and the wizard apprentices beside him were also stunned.

That makes them sound like suspects too.

As Nord spoke, his gaze swept over the wizard apprentices watching, finally settling on Soren.

"After all, you were there as soon as Joanna had a problem."

He then turned to look at the other participants in the trial.

"Everyone who has taken the Light Echo Potion should place the empty vial in front of them."

"No one is allowed to touch the medicine bottle next to Joanna."

"The crystal ball on Joanna has sent an alarm; the people from the Apothecary Guild should be arriving soon."

After saying that, he looked to the other side.

"Ryan, go and inform the academy's enforcement team."

Ryan nodded subconsciously.

Soren's expression darkened slightly.

He originally thought that even if Nord wasn't flustered by this, he would take the opportunity to explain himself.

As long as Nord explains, he can steer the conversation back to Joanna's injury.

Knord offered no explanation whatsoever.

They even dragged him down with them.

This, however, gave Soren a bad feeling.

But he quickly suppressed this premonition.

Joanna has already drunk the potion.

Even if the Pharmacists Association investigates, what can they possibly find out?

That colorless potion was specifically designed by the Krawk family to interfere with mental power detection.

The effects of the medicine were short-lived. By the time the members of the Pharmacist Association arrived, most of the residue had already been absorbed by the mental energy sea.

Even if some abnormalities can still be detected, it is difficult to prove that they are related to them.

Moreover, even if Joanna survives, she will become a mute idiot.

The only potential problem is with another apprentice named Kyle.

He still had a vial of medicine in his hand.

However, since the other party accepted a thousand magic stones from their Krok family and was an accomplice, why would they step forward?

With this in mind, Soren regained his composure.

"There's no problem waiting for the Pharmacists Association and the college's enforcement team to arrive."

"But I suggest we stabilize Joanna's condition before they arrive."

These words immediately created a subtle tension in the atmosphere that had just begun to settle down.

Many of the apprentices looked at Joanna with a hint of sympathy.

The apprentices who participated in the drug trials were mostly of average talent.

If this really damages his spiritual energy, his future path as a wizard will almost certainly be cut off.

This inevitably gives many people the feeling of "the rabbit is killed after the hunt."

Soren clearly sensed this as well.

"Norde Blank, you are the potions genius that Vice Dean Dylan has his eye on."

Even if this demonstration fails, you can still return to the Seventh Potions Workshop and continue your potion research.

"But what about these trial participants?"

"They are just ordinary people."

"Just because they don't have any powerful backers, does that mean they deserve to be your experimental subjects for testing the drug?"

A murmur of discussion immediately arose from the surrounding area.

Nord looked at Soren, his expression remaining calm.

If an ordinary person had said those words, he might have thought more highly of them.

But ironically, the person who said those words was Søren Krok.

He is one of the heirs of the Crook family.

A person born into a wizarding family, who has never lacked magic stones and guidance since childhood, is now standing here, speaking out against the injustices for these ordinary-talented apprentices.

In fact, the current tragedy was caused by him.

This is somewhat ironic.

Nord did not immediately refute.

He merely glanced down at Joanna, who was still enveloped in a magical shield.

Joanna was pale, her hands gripping the hem of her clothes tightly.

After a moment, Nord slowly spoke:

"Soren".

"If you really cared about their safety, then the first thing you should have done after Joanna's accident was to help her, not to stand up and judge me."

"If you are really worried that there is a problem with the medicine, you should request that the medicine be sealed off and the scene protected, instead of rushing to classify the incident."

"You keep saying they're just ordinary apprentices, but since you showed up, you haven't asked Joanna a single question about her situation, or even glanced at her."

Nord looked up and calmly gazed at him.

"What you really care about is their safety."

"Or is it that the low-light echo reagent still hasn't passed the validation process?"

The surrounding chatter paused slightly.

Soren's expression immediately turned grim.

He said coldly:

"Nord, you're changing the subject."

"Joanna's accident happened after she took your medicine; everyone witnessed it."

"fact?"

Nord repeated it softly.

"I wonder if you felt ashamed when you said that."

Just then, an immense demonic pressure descended from the sky.

Someone in the distance exclaimed in surprise.

"A fully-fledged wizard from the Apothecary Association has arrived!"
