Wizard: I can predict the future

Chapter 45 Night Wolf Spider

The four of them slowly ventured deeper into the area, following the route they had scouted beforehand.

They weren't very fast.

In the Forest of Trials, although most creatures have fixed habitats, there are always some that wander around for reasons such as foraging.

As they went deeper, the surroundings quickly darkened.

The tree canopy was layered upon layered, almost blocking out all the light.

The ground also began to get damp, with decaying leaves piling up.

Even Nord, clad in armor, felt somewhat stifled.

He moved forward slowly, step by step, and heard various subtle sounds around him.

Here, we are not far from the lair of the Night Wolf Spider.

Although no trace of spiders can still be seen.

But he could feel the sensation of being watched.

Irene and the others clearly shared the same feeling.

She held out her hand, signaling everyone to stop.

"We're almost there."

"When we enter the Dark Night Wolf Spider's Nest, everyone kill the mother spider as quickly as possible."

"Once the mother spider dies, the spiderlings will naturally collapse on their own."

Ryan has begun casting the spell.

The gray halo fell on the four of them again.

This time, it's thicker than before.

The four then split up and moved closer to their target.

Soon, Nord spotted the Night Wolf Spider's nest.

It was a somewhat empty area with a sunken ground.

In the middle, there was a large amount of dead branches and white silk netting, with small cocoons scattered among them.

He did not see any trace of the Night Wolf Spider.

The next instant.

There was movement, not from the direction of the nest, but from beneath his feet.

The ground suddenly exploded!

A pool of dark green venom gushed out from the spot where he had just stood without warning.

The corrosive sound was deafening, and the ground dissolved rapidly.

Without the slightest hesitation, Nord leaped up and landed on a tree in an instant.

I just managed to stand firm.

Then a few thin, long threads came flying from the side.

Almost the instant his foot touched the ground, Nord stomped his foot and shifted sideways.

Snapped!

The tree branch that was originally standing was cut open with a neat slit.

Only then did he see his target: the Night Wolf Spider.

A spider slowly crawled out from the shadows of the tree.

It was larger than an average person's head, completely black, and its dense compound eyes sent chills down one's spine.

This is a spiderling.

The moment the spiderling appeared, Nord leaped down from the height, his spear aimed directly at the spiderling's head.

The spiderling didn't dodge; instead, it suddenly opened its mouth and sprayed out a stream of dark green venom.

Nord, with nowhere to dodge in mid-air, showed no sign of panic.

He drew his longsword with his left hand and quickly held it horizontally in front of him.

The venom struck the sword.

It made a sizzling sound instantly.

The surface of the blade visibly dented, and a deep pit quickly spread outwards.

The spear fell the next moment.

It pierced directly through the head of the spiderling.

The spiderling convulsed violently twice, then became still.

The Night Wolf Spider relies entirely on its venom and webs; its physical body is far inferior to that of the previous Graybacked Beast.

The moment he landed, Nord immediately looked toward the nest.

At this moment, Irene had already moved, and her whole body was floating up.

It flew almost skimming the ground and plunged directly into the nest.

They instantly rushed into the nest.

With a flick of her wrist, a dark red magic wand appeared in her hand.

Fire elements rapidly gathered above her, causing the air temperature to rise sharply, and even the surrounding spider silk began to curl slightly.

In the next instant, several fireballs, each half a meter in diameter, appeared out of thin air.

The fireball struck the cocoons inside the nest.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

An explosion was heard.

The flames scattered and spread rapidly in all directions along the spider silk.

Several baby spiders nearby were blown away on the spot and lost their lives.

Alvin and Ryan both wielded magic wands, unleashing spells at the spiderlings that surged forth from all directions.

The mother wolf spider, who was originally hiding in the shadows, was now a dark-skinned creature.

They saw that the entire nest was about to be destroyed.

It let out an angry cry.

A figure nearly three meters tall crawled out of the shadows.

Nord looked toward the Dark Night Wolf Spider Queen in the direction of the nest and took the longbow off his back.

Arrow after arrow was fired rapidly toward the enemy.

Initially, the mother night wolf spider didn't care.

It only realized the threat after an arrow had completely penetrated its body.

He turned and charged toward Nord.

Seeing this, Alvin waved his magic wand continuously.

One by one, the rocks and soil rose up, blocking its path of attack.

Ryan didn't approach; instead, he stopped behind.

Dark runes appeared continuously in front of him, then quietly disappeared into the spider swarm.

Several small spiders that tried to rush forward moved noticeably slowly, and some even lost their balance halfway and crashed directly to the ground.

They were trampled by their own kind who couldn't stop in time.

The body of the female night wolf spider was also delayed.

Upon seeing this, the mother spider raised her forelegs and then suddenly dropped them.

Nord felt the ground beneath his feet tremble slightly.

The next instant, the ground beneath their feet gave way and collapsed downwards.

Nord had no choice but to put down his attack, draw his spear, and dodge to the side.

However, the mother spider's attack clearly did not stop.

The instant he landed.

Several streams of venom, several times larger than the previous ones, rose from the ground.

The mother spider spat out a ball of silk, which enveloped him.

Nord's heart sank, and he braced himself with his spear, preparing to force his way out.

The next instant.

He suddenly felt his body lighten, and his whole body floated directly into the sky.

This allowed him to narrowly avoid the venom.

Even so, his armor was corroded and pitted by the splattered venom.

Irene smiled at him, waved her wand, and a flame collided head-on with the spider web in the path.

The spider silk quickly curled up under the high temperature, and the remaining part fell to the ground, still slowly wriggling.

Then, she raised her hand.

A compressed fireball slammed directly into the mother spider.

At the same time, several scorching rays of light instantly shone on the mother night wolf spider.

Flames exploded.

The mother spider's forelegs were jolted back half a step, revealing a dark mark where the rays had struck.

From the side, Alvin seized the opportunity when the mother spider attacked Nord to strike.

A thick spike burst from the ground, piercing straight into the mother spider's abdomen.

Before the mother spider could react, the spikes lifted her up, creating a crack in her carapace, from which black fluid slowly seeped out.

Behind them, Ryan's curse had been fully stacked.

The mother spider's movements became noticeably slower.

After Nord landed.

The mother spider was seen to be pinned down in the center, her movements noticeably sluggish.

He didn't stop, dodging the spiderlings as he drew his arrow and pulled back the bowstring.

Each arrow hits the spot where the previous arrow landed precisely.

Irene floated in the air, and instead of attacking again, she stopped.

"Help me stall for three seconds."

The words fell.

She froze completely.

next moment.

The wind has stirred.

It's not ordinary airflow.

It is the rapidly gathering power of the fire element, brought about by the huge temperature difference.

The leaves were rolled up, and the pebbles began to roll.

Her long hair was lifted by the strong wind and spread out in all directions.

The mother spider suddenly looked up, her compound eyes fixed on her.

It seemed as if they sensed danger.
