Lord of Mysteries: The Color of the Stars
Chapter 25 Mr. Tower's Insights
The speaker was Miss "Justice," a vibrant young woman who, after finishing her sentence, greeted Mr. "The Hanged Man":
Good afternoon, Mr. Hanged Man!
Only then did she ask Mr. Fool in a curious and tentative tone:
"Mr. 'Fool,' this gentleman is...?"
"A new participant."
Mr. Fool chuckled softly:
His code name was "Tower".
"Hello, Mr. Tower."
Miss Justice greeted Julian in a very friendly manner.
The latter, while feeling the "Starry Night" buzzing sound suppressed by the "Gray Fog" once again, nodded slightly and smiled in a friendly response to Miss "Justice".
"Although this Mr. 'Tower' speaks almost exactly like a native of Ruen, you can still detect a few non-native speakers' slang habits... Is he a foreigner living in Ruen?"
Mr. "The Hanged Man" observed the actions of the newcomer, Mr. "The Tower," trying to figure out the pattern of Mr. "The Fool" inviting participants to the "Tarot Meeting."
"It seems that Mr. 'The Fool' has some kind of special preference for the Rune people, but the selection of invitees is somewhat random?"
Just as Mr. Hanged Man was pondering, Ms. Justice's voice suddenly rang out:
"Mr. 'The Hanged Man,' have you received that box of Ghost Shark blood?"
"Thank you so much, it perfectly meets all my expectations."
Alger, the "Hanged Man," nodded:
"I really didn't expect you to send it over so quickly. Ghost Shark blood is no ordinary supernatural substance."
Alger answered frankly, his tone revealing excitement.
Ghost Shark Blood... a potion ingredient for Sequence 7 "Navigator"?
Yes, Alger should have just been promoted to Sequence 7... and Audrey should have just completed her deal with him and is about to obtain the recipe for the "Audience" potion.
Julian quickly checked the current timeline in his mind, and then listened as Mr. Hanged Man dictated the recipe for the "Audience" potion to Audrey.
After Audrey finished recording, Mr. Hanged Man explained to her in detail the techniques of meditation, as well as the key points of "digging" into the symbolism of the potion and then "mastering" its power.
However, at that moment, Mr. Fool suddenly tapped the head of the bronze table.
The knocking sound simultaneously drew the attention of the three people sitting below.
The mysterious organizer of the "Tarot Club" slowly spoke:
"It's not about mastering, it's about digesting."
"It's not digging, it's acting."
He's starting to show off...
Julian sighed softly. He looked at Alger, the Hanged Man, who was visibly shaken and thanking Mr. Fool, and at Miss Justice, who was listening intently and memorizing the conversation. He tried to suppress his urge to laugh.
In fact, not only did Mr. Hanged Man have a vague understanding of the "playing method," even Mr. Fool himself didn't know what those two sentences meant.
It's just that these two sentences appeared in Emperor Roselle's diary, so I'm just using them to show off a little.
His composure was quickly noticed by Alger, who, with some curiosity, tentatively asked:
"Mr. 'Tower,' you seem to have your own understanding of those two sentences that Mr. 'Fool' just taught you?"
"Yes."
Julian "Tower" did not deny it.
Not to mention that he was a transmigrator, even when the original owner was in the Church of the "God of Knowledge and Wisdom", he was one of the very few members who had mastered the "playing method".
This was mainly due to the scholarly tradition of the Jacob family, which is why he rose quickly within the Church of Knowledge—if it weren't for that damned "Star of Colors," he could very well have become a high-ranking church scholar before the age of 30.
Upon hearing this, Mr. Hanged Man felt a chill run down his spine.
He tentatively asked:
Could you please provide some explanation of this passage?
"Of course, I can pay enough compensation."
"Me too."
"Justice," Audrey quickly added.
She was very curious about what the conversation would entail, but she also guessed that it would be impolite not to offer something in such a setting.
Out of respect, they did not press Mr. Fool further, so Mr. Tower, who was also a participant, became a good person to consult.
In fact, even Mr. Fool pricked up his little ears at this moment, pretending to be indifferent on the surface, but actually listening intently to what Julian was about to say.
"remuneration?"
"The Tower," Julian thought for a moment, then nodded and said:
"Perfect timing, there's something I need your help with."
"I have a set of Tier 7 potion ingredients here, which can be directly mixed into potions. I need to find a seller to sell them."
"A Sequence 7 potion ingredient?"
Alger, the "Hanged Man," was even more surprised upon hearing this.
Because he himself had only recently been promoted to Sequence 7, a process that was extremely difficult. If it weren't for Miss Justice's help, it would have taken him at least another year or two to accumulate contributions in the Church of the Lord of Storms.
Normally, an extraordinary individual will prioritize obtaining the main ingredients for potions from their own path to advance their own career. This means that for most people, it is rare to have "an extra set of main ingredients".
Therefore, disregarding those low-probability events, there are only two possible scenarios.
The first possibility is that Mr. "Tower" must be at least a Sequence 7 Extraordinary, and his strength is not bad, so that he can obtain Sequence 7 main materials through other means when the external conditions are met.
Another possibility is that he has a very powerful family or organization behind him, like Miss "Justice," which allows him to obtain redundant potion ingredients.
Thinking of this, Mr. Hanged Man completely abandoned his previous wariness of the new member, and his tone became much more respectful:
"May I ask, from which source is this Sequence 7 potion ingredient?"
""audience"."
"Tower," Julian answered, while looking at Miss "Justice" across the bronze table with a smile in his eyes.
As expected, the noble lady was startled and then showed great interest.
She asked:
"Hmm, if—and I mean if—I were to advance to Sequence 8 through the 'Audience' pathway, would this Sequence 7 potion ingredient be of any use to me?"
"Of course, the prerequisite is that your own condition already meets the requirements for promotion."
Alger, the "Hanged Man," nodded slightly, confirming Miss Justice's hypothesis.
"Well, Mr. 'Tower',"
"Justice," Audrey looked at Julian and asked in a rather nervous tone:
"Could you sell me that set of Sequence 7 potion ingredients you have?"
"How much should I pay you if it's possible?"
