Lord of Mysteries: The Color of the Stars

Is Chapter 10 part of the 0-08 series?

The roars grew louder and louder, wave after wave, until Julian was dizzy in no time.

"The 'Color of the Stars' is angry... But what is it angry about?"

Julian was completely bewildered and couldn't understand the situation at all.

In his four-color vision, the surrounding tabletop, walls, and even the sleeping Riel Bieber were completely immersed in the neon light, making it look particularly eerie.

Apart from the Antigonus family notebook, which still appears to be black.

"Could it be because of this notebook?"

He tried to pull his hand back, and sure enough, the roar immediately subsided.

After a pause, Julian stretched out his hand again, and the angry roar rang out once more.

He then repeated the arm-stretching motion several times, and his roar rose and fell like a rollercoaster.

"Does 'Starry Night' dislike this notebook?"

At this point, Julian finally realized the reason behind the matter, and this discovery made him feel quite strange.

"Star of Colors" is a mythical creature from outer space, so it shouldn't have had any conflict with Antigonus.

Furthermore, Julian knew that apart from being of a higher rank and containing some contamination, the notebook in front of him was actually less dangerous than most "Level 1" sealed artifacts.

"The more you hate it, the more I want to hold it in my hands."

At this moment, Julian finally felt a rebellious streak.

Over the past three years, my life has been turned into a mess by this colorful and bizarre thing. I not only changed my name and left my hometown, but was also forced to embark on the uncertain path of the "Four-Colored Awakener".

Now that he finally has a formal identity and wants to do things according to his own ideas, "Starry Night" has come out to hinder him again.

How can we tolerate this?!

Once again, Julian began to silently recite the name of "Goddess of the Night," Amanisis.

It was nighttime, and the full red moon outside the window signified that the goddess's mystical symbolism was at its peak.

Sure enough, as soon as the name was uttered, the iridescent light around Julian diminished considerably, and the roar also weakened.

Even the angry voice seemed to carry a hint of resentment, like a naughty child getting a beating from their parent.

"...If I can't handle you, surely the goddess can?"

Julian chuckled and cursed under his breath, then took the Antigonus family notebook in his hand and opened it.

Just as he expected, it contained numerous "Diviner's Way" potion recipes, as well as some trivial matters concerning the "Night Kingdom" and the Antigonus family.

In addition, there are many maps marked with different locations.

Some of them are clearly drawn on paper.

These markings included circles, triangles, and checkmarks, among others, and were not accompanied by illustrations or explanations, so Julian could not accurately distinguish their meanings.

He judged that this was deliberate, intended to create false options and smokescreens to lure those who were not descendants of the Antigonus family into dangerous traps and completely thwart their covetousness of the family treasure.

"...Huh? There seems to be some information hidden in this?"

Suddenly, Julian discovered that some of the treasure maps contained very subtle, special octagonal symbols that looked like they had been marked with invisible ink.

He shouldn't have been able to see this information, but the four-color vision revealed it.

Most importantly, one of the hidden markers is located right on the outskirts of Tingen!

Realizing the importance of this information, Julian decided to record it all and analyze it later when he got back.

He once again took out the "Scholar's Legacy" and used its function of storing knowledge and books to record most of the information inside.

Julian had no choice but to temporarily store the hidden contents that the "Legacy of Scholars" could not record in his mind—fortunately, his brain had been modified by the "Reader's" potion, so even though he had lost the corresponding supernatural power, his memory was far superior to that of ordinary people.

After doing all this, Julian carefully put the Antigonus family notebook back in its original place.

At this stage, he does not want to take the Antigonus family notes with him, because doing so would alert the "Secret Order" members and scare them away.

"...Um...who..."

Just then, Riel Bieber's snoring suddenly stopped, and his eyelids opened slightly.

He seemed to vaguely sense Julian's presence, and thus uttered a question as if in a dream.

Juliet was startled. He immediately took out the colorless and odorless sleep-inducing essential oil he had prepared in advance and sprayed it into the air twice.

Under the influence of the essential oils, Riel Bieber fell into a deep sleep and soon started snoring again.

Julian breathed a slight sigh of relief and quietly left Riel Bieber's bedroom.

However, just as Julian was about to leave the apartment from the living room, he suddenly stopped in his tracks.

Because his spiritual intuition told him that there was someone standing outside the door at that moment!

"..."

Julian bit his lip, trying to remain silent.

Because the people who would come to Riel Bieber's house at this time are very likely members of the Secret Order.

In order to thwart the Secret Order's possible divination tracking of him, Julian had already performed an anti-divination magic ritual before entering the apartment where Riel Bieber was located.

Even with a simplified, quick ritual, the "diviners" of the "Secret Order" should not be able to easily break through the corresponding interference, provided their strength does not exceed that of a Sequence 7 seal.

However, he did not expect that he would encounter the "Secret Society" right at the critical moment of his departure.

This was such a coincidence that Julian began to suspect that 0-08 might have played a role in it.

But with the goddess and Ariana paying attention, this seems somewhat illogical.

He silently drew his pistol from his holster while peering through the peephole.

Sure enough, he saw a person standing in the dimly lit corridor.

The man wasn't very tall, he was wearing a tuxedo, and his face was painted with exaggerated clown makeup.

To Julian's surprise, the man was holding an amethyst pendulum that was spinning clockwise at a small amplitude.

In pendulum divination, "clockwise" represents affirmation, while the amplitude represents the degree.

"Is it dangerous at Berry Bieber's house?"

Julian immediately realized what was happening.

The clown from the secret society must have learned of Julian's existence and confirmed that Julian behind the door was not very strong!

"How did this guy break through my anti-divination ritual?"

"...Did my ritual go wrong, or did the 'Secret Order' tamper with the Antigonus family notes?"

Julian felt a chill run through his body.

Using a Sequence 9 ability to fight against a Sequence 7 who excels in combat seems like a sure path to certain death.

Just as he was quickly thinking of a solution, the clown from the "Secret Order" behind the cat's eye suddenly moved.

He tilted his head at an exaggerated angle to look at the cat's eyes, and the corners of his mouth slowly turned up in an unusually large smile.

A terrifying, grotesque smile appeared on that face covered in paint!
