In his room in Climax City, Viserisli, with the help of a maid, removed his boots and robes, then accepted a soothing drink from the accompanying maester.

"No, don't close the window, let me breathe some fresh air," Viserys ordered, feeling seasick.

Upon hearing this, the maid reopened the window, secured it with a support pole, then lowered the curtain, bowed, and withdrew.

The sea breeze, carrying a salty, damp scent, quietly slipped into the room, bringing Viserys a slight sense of comfort. He took a small sip of the soothing wine in his hand; the rich aroma spread across his tongue, temporarily easing his anxiety and unease.

"Your Highness, you despise me as always, Your Majesty."

"You're acting on my orders, Otto. And don't blame him; the pain of losing his child has filled him with hostility towards everyone," Viserys said softly.

"In King's Landing's Silk Street and Flea Nest, there are more than a dozen illegitimate children he left behind, whose lives he has never cared about."

"Perhaps this child is different; after all, his mother is the woman Damon once publicly declared he would marry."

Sir Otto pursed his lips, controlling his urge to speak, and after a moment of silence, changed the subject: "You seem to still have some doubts about Her Highness the Princess's marriage."

"The marriage prospect you so strongly recommended is good, but I cannot make a decision yet. His roots are not in Westeros, and the Seven Kingdoms' xenophobia means he can offer very limited support to our future queen."

"Your Majesty, I understand your concerns, but dragons and the army are always the most advantageous support." Sir Otto carefully worded, trying to persuade Viserys.

"Let me sleep for a while, Your Excellency. I still have to investigate that Black Dragon King this afternoon." The sleeping potion took effect, and Viserys felt his eyelids getting heavier and heavier.

"May you sleep well, Your Majesty."

……

Meanwhile, on the beach in Climax City, Renilla, Lannar, and Lannino were squatting on the sand digging for clams.

Lannar and Lannino, as if showing off a new toy, introduced this novel form of entertainment to Renilla. As the first razor clam was pulled out of the sand hole, the little girl excitedly shouted as she experienced the thrill of hunting for the first time.

Ser Christon Cole, a member of the Kingsguard, followed not far away, watching the three and observing the surrounding movements. Suddenly, a huge shadow enveloped them, and the howling wind even made them stagger. Ser Christon quickly stepped forward and shielded the three behind him.

Night Fury used its hind legs to grab a huge sperm whale, flying over the three of them and landing on the beach not far away. Its massive jaws, filled with sharp teeth, bit down on the sperm whale's head, and with a brutal twist, "crack!" the struggling whale instantly fell silent, its arched body and high-raised tail fin slamming to the ground.

Night Fury nudged the food, rearranged its position, and then aimed at the fattest part of the belly, spitting out eerie blue flames until the aroma of burnt meat filled the air. Only then did it tear off a large bite and swallow it greedily.

With a physique around 100 meters tall and a weight of 1,000 tons, it would take at least seven or eight cows, or thirty or forty sheep, to be full in one meal. Moreover, the Night Fury in the People's Education Press edition eats three meals a day.

The cattle and sheep that the dragon guards of Chaotou Island fed each day were not enough to fill this big guy's stomach. Paying for more food would be seen as blaming the owner for not being hospitable enough, so Reed simply let it hunt for food in the sea every day, and the leftovers were given to the other little dragons.

But this has led to other problems.

"Hiss!" "Hiss~! Waaah~!" "Hiss~!"

The dragons on Tidehead Island have been swarming lately, drawn by the aroma of food, and have been fluttering their wings from every corner of the island. Vaghar and Kolachu are eyeing the tempting whale meat, while Melias is observing the three dragons facing off, intending to play the opportunist. Syracuse and Sea Smoke are watching from a distance, wondering if the big guys will continue to be fed today.

Vaghar's massive body was the most conspicuous among the dragons, but the Night Fury paid no heed to its gaze, continuing to enjoy its meal with complete focus. Only when Vaghar got too close did the Night Fury suddenly raise its head, letting out a low roar as a warning to Vaghar not to cross the line. Vaghar, undaunted, responded with an angry roar, and it seemed that a dragonfight was about to erupt.

Renilla and the other two stared in disbelief at the scene, while Sir Christon warily drew his longsword and stood in front of them, just in case.

"Stop the fighting! Wagner!" Lannar broke free from Sir Christon's obstruction and rushed forward.

"Sea Smoke!" "Syracus!" Seeing this, Lannino and Renilla rushed to their companions, trying to take them away from the battlefield and prevent the two little dragons from being caught in the crossfire of the battle between the adult and old dragons.

"Your Highness! Danger!" Colliston cried out.

"Go find my uncle, aunt, and Reed!"

A sudden whistle rang out, and the menacing Night Fury whirled around, his previously fierce vertical pupils instantly widening into round circles. Reed was riding a powerful warhorse galloping towards them; thanks to their telepathic connection, Reed sensed his companion's emotions even before anyone else present.

Of course, Damon, who was testing the giant crossbow with Reed at the firing range, also came along. Count Corliss was in a hurry to call his wife. He had long regarded the three dragons on the island as the most important assets of his family, not to mention that the princess and his two children were digging for clams on the beach.

Damn razor clams!

Koracchu and his master already had a great understanding, and under Damon's reassurance, Koracchu lowered his aggressive stance. But Vaghar completely ignored Lannar's calls and took another step closer. The older the dragon got, the worse his temper became, and the more uncontrollable he became.

Night Fury's gaze darted back and forth between Reid and Vaghar, looking both ways, which weakened his momentum. Caught off guard, the whale was snatched away by Vaghar in one gulp.

Everyone then looked at Reed, their voices a mixture of reproach and grievance as they growled.

Calling her "old bitch" is a bit too much of a bullying tactic.

"Let's get it!" Reed encouraged decisively. They'd been too restrained these past few days; it was time to let it unleash its true nature.

Encouraged, Night Fury's gaze instantly turned fierce.

"Hiss~!"

Night Fury took a few running steps, quickly ascended into the air, and then swiftly swept over Vaghar, smearing a beam of ghostly blue dragonfire on its face.

In pain, Vaghar released the whale from its mouth, roared angrily, and ignored Lannar's command. He took a running start, flapped his wings, and took off to chase after it.

The Night Fury was a head smaller than Vaghar, but it was in a much younger state. Unlike Vaghar, whose skin was loose, thorns had fallen off, and sagging skin had even formed a large throat pouch, the Night Fury was in its prime. It was more agile and flew faster. Every now and then, it would turn its head and breathe provocative flames, further enraging Vaghar.

"Why didn't you stop them!" Lanaer shouted angrily.

"It's normal for dragons to fight over food. Without wildness, they have no fighting power. Don't worry, without the rider's command, dragons generally won't fight to the death. They'll stop when one side falls behind." Reed stared at the battlefield in mid-air and explained. Thinking of Grandma Riva's ruthless battle record in the original story, he added, "I'm referring to battles between dragons that are not too different in size."

"Need any help?" Damon asked. Every dragon of the Targaryen was a vital asset and could not be lost.

"Wait a bit longer. Both of them are holding back their anger; now is not the right time to intervene."

In mid-air, the dragon's angry roars and painful shrieks echoed intermittently, while dark blue and orange flames reflected off the clouds. Large swaths of scalding dragon blood splashed down, landing on the sea and stirring up scorching steam.

On the ground, seeing that the five dragons' attention was not on the whale, the opportunist Melias finally got his chance and rushed forward to snatch the food.

Reid didn't want another dragon fight after the Night Fury landed, so he quickly stepped forward to stop them. "Stop!"

Damon and Lannar stared at Reid in shock. Possessing dragon blood naturally granted them the favor of dragons, allowing them to approach them unharmed—this was the reason for the numerous dragon guards of House Targaryen. But standing in front of prey already targeted by dragons was undoubtedly an extremely dangerous act.

Although Melias was a small creature compared to the Night Fury, she was still a behemoth like a small mountain in front of Reid. Her golden dragon eyes were already locked on Reid, and the heavy breaths from her nostrils almost overturned him. However, Reid seemed completely unaware, simply standing there quietly, extending a hand as if to soothe a raging child.

"Danger! Get out of the way!" Lannar shouted anxiously.

But Reid's eyes were unusually firm. He took a deep breath and began to sing "The Shepherd's Evening" in a low, rhythmic voice. This long-standing Valyrian song was both a ditty for shepherds returning home and a secret passed down through generations of Valyrian dragon kings, a way to communicate with the dragons.

As Reid chanted, Melias's movements gradually slowed down, and the anger in his golden dragon eyes slowly subsided.

Damon watched with interest and stopped Lannar from shouting, while Sir Colliston held his breath.

Reed cautiously stepped forward, letting Melias smell his scent. As he gently placed his palm on Melias's nose, the crimson behemoth slowly closed its eyes, quieted down, and enjoyed Reed's caress.

Damon and Lannar exchanged bewildered glances, their eyes filled with disbelief. They had never seen anyone so easily pacify an enraged dragon. Faced with a mastered dragon, even a pure-blooded Targaryen could at best ensure their own survival by avoiding being devoured.

Seeing this, Damon boldly stepped forward, cautiously and with a complicated expression, reaching out to touch it. The moment his palm touched Melias, the red behemoth suddenly opened its eyes, causing Damon to pause, before slowly closing them again.

"Your dragon blood is thicker than I thought." Standing beside Reed, Damon brazenly stroked Melias's rough scales with his palm. Before Reed could reply, Damon continued, "She was my mother's dragon. She used to be. The first time I saw the sky was on her back. When I was little, I could sleep, jump, roll, and even pee on her back as I pleased. Now I have to borrow your help to touch her... because after she died, Rhaenys stole her."

"You also stole my father's dragon!" Queen Rhaenys's words rang out with resounding force.

Melias heard her master's voice and gently nudged Reid away.

The uncrowned queen, dressed in a magnificent long gown, stood not far away, her long black hair cascading like a waterfall, her eyes flashing with a cold light. Beside her stood several knights of the Valerian family, all looking on warily. Count Corliss looked at his eldest daughter with concern.

"Hiss~!"

"Hiss~!"

After battling in mid-air for some time, Vaghar and Night Fury slowly descended, still roaring at each other without yielding. Their massive bodies slammed heavily onto the ground, kicking up dust. Vaghar's scales gleamed with a cold metallic luster in the sunlight, while Night Fury's eyes were as dark as an abyss. As they faced off, the air was thick with the smell of gunpowder.

Night Fury had several scratches on its neck and lower abdomen, while Vaghar's face was charred black, and one of its wing membranes was torn, affecting its flight ability.

"Vag!" Lannar stepped forward with concern to check on her dragon's injuries.

"Be careful, the dragon's blood is very hot!" Corliss hurriedly warned.

Night Fury, meanwhile, sniffed around at Reid.

"The smell of Melias, which you got on your food, what are you sniffing for? Go eat!" Reed slapped him across the face and yelled in Valyrian.

"Gurgle! Gurgle! Gurgle!" Night Fury let out a low growl of dissatisfaction from its throat, continuing to gnaw on the sperm whale behind Reed.

……

Viserys was the last to know about the dragon battle. The long journey and the sleeping wine kept him fast asleep despite the dragons’ earth-shattering roars until the afternoon when his maid gently woke him.

At this moment, he was in good condition, full of energy, and clear-headed. He had also regained the demeanor befitting a king and was looking thoughtfully at the young man beside him. His dragon was no weaker than Vaghar's, and his own dragon blood was even purer.

Reid strolled with the king with a relaxed expression, not in a hurry to speak.

"Let's be frank. I have some questions for you, and I will answer them honestly, shall I?" Viserys said slowly.

Sincerity is always the most touching thing.

"Then, shall I ask first?"

"That's just how it is."

"Where are you from?"

Reed paused for a moment. He could answer east of the Yidi or the other side of the Sunset Sea, but that was full of loopholes, and it wouldn't be difficult to investigate his own movements if he wanted to. As for fabricating a relationship with the Valyrian Dragon King, Reed didn't think his knowledge of Valyria could surpass that of Viserys, who had replicated the Valyrian Freehold.

Besides, some things are said in vain.

"This is rather complicated to explain, and some people who don't understand it might think I'm crazy. If I explain it to you, please stay calm and keep it a secret."

"I swear! I will do my best to listen and keep the secret!" Viserys said solemnly.
