"All garrison troops, withdraw from the city walls, leaving only sentries! All garrison troops, withdraw from the city walls, leaving only sentries! Form ranks! Withdraw in an orderly manner!" the messenger shouted the order.

In an instant, a stone blast shattered the oil cauldron, and the splattering boiling oil was ignited by the scattered embers, causing a raging fire to erupt on the city wall. Thick black smoke and blazing yellow flames instantly engulfed more than a dozen slave soldiers, their heart-wrenching screams sending chills down one's spine.

Several soldiers engulfed in flames, resembling ferocious fire figures, attempted to approach the temporarily safe guards for help, inadvertently causing widespread chaos. People retreated hastily, and in their terror, some even turned their swords on their comrades in a desperate attempt to escape the city walls.

"The Unblemished, suppress those routs!"

Sizidala gripped the hilt of his sword and pointed his whip at the fleeing soldiers in the distance, issuing his orders.

A hundred Unsullied soldiers immediately stepped forward upon receiving the order. Unlike ordinary Unsullied, each soldier in this hundred-man squad had two spikes on their helmets, with the leader having three.

Armed with spears and shields, they swiftly and methodically weaved through the fleeing soldiers, blocking their retreat with their shields, killing the rebels with their spears, and forcing those attempting to escape to a halt. Under the spears of the Unsullied, the routed soldiers were forced to regroup and retreat in an orderly fashion according to their commander's orders.

The battle on the city walls continued. In sections of the wall not targeted by catapults, the defenders began to attempt a counterattack, using crossbow bolts and catapults on the walls to continuously fire crossbow bolts and throw stones at the attacking enemy.

However, all of this was no longer enough to change the course of the battle. Under the continuous bombardment of the catapults, this section of the city wall, which had been the breach point, was riddled with holes and could collapse at any moment.

Hitzdal took a deep breath and, steeling himself, readjusted the deployment: "Relocate the archers who were withdrawn to the upper floors of the buildings behind the breach. Let the enemy in to fight, and have the Unsullied hide in tunnels or buildings. Once you attack, engage the enemy as quickly as possible..."

The orders were relayed down, and the defenders sprang into action. Archers, longbows and quivers in hand, raced up the steps beneath the city walls to the upper levels of the buildings chosen as defensive strongholds. From there, they could fire down upon the attacking enemy, buying more time for the Unsullied.

The surrounding tunnels and hiding places were also fully utilized, with the Unsullied holding spears and shields, ready to launch a surprise attack when the enemy appeared.

The battle continued, but the situation had become increasingly tense. The roar of catapults filled the air, and each attack tightened the nerves of the defenders.

With a deafening roar, the section of the city wall that had been under heavy attack finally collapsed, revealing a gap of more than 10 yards. Below the gap, the collapsed bricks and rubble piled up into an irregular slope, filling the final height difference and opening a passage for the attack into the city.

The cheers of the enemy, though far away, were clearly audible. Sizdalar gripped his sword hilt tightly; the real test had begun!

"Chainhammer Soldiers! Attack!" Reed gave the order to attack.

Unlike the slow-moving heavy swordsmen or the halberdiers who rely on forming formations to push forward, this is a group of soldiers who focus on speed and attack and are born for fast-paced combat.

They may look different, but they all share the same features: bald heads, no eyebrows, and faces full of menacing features; some even have fierce scars on their faces. They are equipped with leather vests with breastplates and round arm shields made of wood covered with iron, which provide a certain level of protection and prevent fatal attacks without hindering their rapid running. This allows them to move across the battlefield as nimbly and agilely as cheetahs.

They were short and stocky, with exceptionally thick and strong bare arms. The chain hammers in their hands seemed to come alive, whistling through the air as they swung them, their spiked, spherical heads radiating a chilling ferocity.

"Hoo-ha~! Hoo-ha~!"

Under Reid's watchful gaze, the chain hammer soldiers let out a rough yet deafening battle cry, and then marched toward the breach in the city wall with an uneven but unstoppable momentum.

As the chainhammer soldiers approached the breach in the city wall, the archers on the intact section of Meereen reacted immediately, unleashing a dense barrage of arrows from their Myr crossbows, longbows, and Dothraki hornbows.

Among the attacking chainhammer soldiers, men were frequently struck by arrows and fell to the ground, or their exposed limbs were pierced by arrows, but there were no screams or groans, only muffled groans. The chainhammer soldiers held their arm shields above their heads and charged forward with undiminished speed.

"Unsullied! Attack!" Once half of these assault troops had entered the city walls, the slave-owning officers at all levels waved their whips and gave the order.

Large numbers of Unsullied soldiers rushed out of buildings and burrows, crowding towards the chainhammer soldiers pouring into the city.

"Spears!"

Under the pressure of the dragon's flames, Xizidala demanded that they engage in close combat as much as possible, mingling their troops together in a chaotic battle to make the enemy hesitate to act.

Before engaging in close combat, the Unsullied chose to launch several waves of spear attacks. In this close-quarters melee without formations, spears and spare javelins were less effective than short swords, so it was better to use them up proactively to inflict damage on the opponent.

One after another, spears were thrown, whistling through the air and piercing the ranks of the chain hammer soldiers. Some pierced the chain hammer soldiers' arm shields, forcing them to abandon their shields due to their cumbersome weight, while others pierced deep into the chain hammer soldiers' bodies, rendering them unable to move.

The disadvantages of the lightly armored troops were obvious. Under such a dense barrage of spears, many fell to the ground, their blood staining the earth and filling the air with a strong stench of blood.

The attacking force of five hundred men felled forty or fifty with arrows and nearly a hundred with javelins, but that was the end of it. The remaining three hundred or so chain-hammer soldiers quickly engaged the Unsullied in a fierce close-quarters battle. The whooshing sound of chain hammers being swung in circles rang out everywhere, followed by the dull thud of hammerheads hitting things.

On the narrow street, soldiers from both sides were crammed together, their chains clashing fiercely with spears, short swords, and shields. Each clash was accompanied by the clanging of metal and the screams of soldiers.

The Unsullied were well-trained and calm, but they struggled against the chainhammer soldiers' fierce fighting style and were unable to take advantage of their formation.

These reckless madmen will pounce on the Unsullied's shields or sword tips, risking their lives to open a path for their teammates. Then, more madmen will squeeze into the defensive gaps and engage in bloody close-quarters combat.

They didn't care about formation at all. Or rather, the chains they wielded made it impossible for them to distinguish friend from foe, so they could only spread out and engage in melee combat relying on individual strength.

Once they lost their formation advantage, the Unsullied's melee weapons were no match for the swinging chain mace. Shields would be smashed, short swords would be knocked away, and flesh and blood that were hit by the hammerhead would either be killed or maimed.

In an instant, the narrow street was filled with the stench of blood and screams of agony. Faced with the chain hammer soldiers' reckless fighting style, casualties on both sides were rising rapidly.

Sizdala stood on high ground, calmly observing everything. There was no pity in his eyes, only the composure befitting a commander.

Although Reid's army was fierce, the number of men who broke through the city walls was limited, while the Unsullied were coming in continuously. As long as they could withstand this wave of attacks, victory would be theirs.

During this spare time, he even began to wonder if he was overly afraid of the dragonfire. He should have deployed well-organized Unsullied ranks while the dragons were still in the air, pressuring the enemy's lines; the damage would have been more significant, and casualties less. After all, the Unsullied's combat power lay more in their disciplined formations and strict military discipline. A chaotic melee would have meant abandoning this advantage.

Sure enough, as time went on, the chainhammer soldiers' offensive began to slow. Their stamina began to wane, and casualties continued to rise. Meanwhile, the Unsullied began to gradually gain the upper hand.

"Kill!" a slave-owning officer holding a whip shouted.

The Unsullied, wielding shields and short swords, seemed endless, constantly pouring out from the surrounding buildings and tunnel entrances to join the melee.

In the bloody and chaotic melee, the ratio of the two sides gradually changed from two to one to four to one, or even five to one. Each chain hammer soldier would face four or five enemies. The fast-paced attack could only result in mutual destruction at best, not one against many.

The Unsullied, who had a numerical advantage, quickly cut down one chain mace soldier after another. Faced with an overwhelming numerical and physical advantage, the chain mace soldiers began to struggle.

"Retreat!" The commanding officer's voice was calm and decisive. That was enough; continuing would only send more soldiers to their deaths in vain.

Upon hearing this, the chainhammer soldiers immediately split into two groups and began to act differently. An army caught in the melee cannot simply retreat. Those chainhammer soldiers who were far from the breach in the city wall, wounded, or already surrounded did not choose to retreat. Instead, they charged even more fiercely towards the Unsullied, allowing their comrades behind them to escape quickly.

Meanwhile, another group of chain hammer soldiers, closer to the breach in the city wall, quickly broke through the gap under their captain's command. Using their chain hammers, they smashed a bloody path, and despite the constant falling of their comrades, they continued their resolute charge forward.

Behind them, the Unsullied pursued relentlessly, but the chainhammer soldiers, with their ferocious fighting spirit, successfully tore a hole in the Unsullied's encirclement and broke through.

Some of the Unsullied chased after the retreating chainhammer soldiers out of the breach in the city wall, only to be quickly pinned to the wall by the massive crossbows.

"Cease the pursuit! Retreat to the city walls!" The slave-owning officer commanded the Unsullied.

Sizdala snatched the Mill Lens from his subordinate officer and looked out over the enemy lines. In front of Reid's lines, huge ballistae were lined up, providing cover for the retreating attacking troops.

Reid was also using a Milton lens to observe the breach in the city wall, and their eyes met.

Reed put down the Mil lens and applauded Sidzidala.

"A probing attack..." Sizdala's expression was grim.
