Dream Walker: Feng Shui Master Bai Ya

Chapter 35 The Rat King Goes to Exterminate the Rats

Shang Muchen didn't know why Eileen asked him if he could see anything unusual, but he could indeed tell that Xu Lele was acting strangely.

"Fortunately, the mental interference wasn't too severe, so there shouldn't be any aftereffects. Go home and rest today, get a good night's sleep!" Eileen ordered Xu Lele earnestly, then turned to ask Liu Qingyang and Shang Muchen.

"What's wrong with her?"

Shang Muchen and Liu Qingyang exchanged a glance, hesitated for a moment, and then told Eileen about their encounter with Lu Mingdi that evening.

Eileen frowned, her expression clearly displeased, and said, "This Lu Mingdi, is he the young master of the Lu family? The heir to the Tianlu Group?"

"right."

"What a pathetic guy!" Eileen said with a look of disgust. "If he likes my little Xu, he should just propose. It's not like he'll disagree. Why resort to such despicable methods?"

Shang Muchen guessed that Lu Mingdi had been sent by Liu Qingyang, but Xu Lele had intercepted it, but he really didn't want to talk about it in detail.

"Oh, right, Director, there's something else I wanted to tell you..." Xu Lele briefly told Eileen about the rat extermination.

"Alright, you guys can go back and rest tonight. Tomorrow, take the equipment to Xiao Shang's house, help him exterminate the rats, and test the equipment's effectiveness while you're at it."

Remember to record all the parameters accurately; I need to review them later!

"Okay, thank you!" Xu Lele was overjoyed, but Liu Qingyang was a little hesitant and whispered to Eileen, "Professor, what if Lu Mingdi causes trouble again..."

"Give him a good beating!" Eileen grabbed a pair of wire cutters, squeezed hard, and snapped them in two with a crack. Shang Muchen jumped in fright. "You beat him up, and if anything happens, I'll stand up for you!"

"Okay!" Liu Qingyang nodded repeatedly.

Shang Muchen stared speechlessly at the pliers lying on the ground, then secretly glanced at Eileen's slender fingers, thinking to himself, "This auntie's strength is a bit too much, isn't it?"

No wonder Uncle Si judged that Professor Eileen had practiced martial arts. With her slender figure, she was able to break the pliers. That's terrifying!

After escorting Liu Qingyang and Xu Lele back to their dorm, Shang Muchen took a taxi back to his apartment in the 157 Art District. It was already late at night.

Before even entering the door, I looked up and saw a long-haired figure swaying by the second-floor window.

My first reaction was, "Oh my god, it's haunted!"

My second reaction was, "Damn, it must be haunted."

Ugh……

The one with long hair probably isn't a female ghost, but rather the ghost of the painter Sa Sanqi.

Pushing open the door, I was greeted by the ghost of the old worker, Wang Jianshe, holding a large measuring tape and measuring something.

Exhausted, Shang Muchen didn't bother with him. He turned on the light and couldn't see him anymore.

After washing up, Shang Muchen flopped onto the bed and fell asleep.

In his dream, it seemed that Chicken Bounce came and made a fuss again, probably just pestering him for his phone. Shang Muchen vaguely dismissed him and went back to sleep.

Shang Muchen didn't wake up until the next morning when his phone rang deafeningly.

"We've already set off and should be there by ten," Liu Qingyang said on the phone. "Do you want to pick us up? We don't know which building it is."

"Oh, really. I'll have to ask the property management to let you in. We'll have to go around the pedestrian street. See you at the west gate."

Shang Muchen contacted Wang Dapangzi and told him that he had invited a team of doctoral students from Yanji University, who were bringing high-tech equipment to exterminate the rats.

Wang Da Pangzi was extremely excited and thanked them repeatedly. They got through all the way with green lights and security guards leading the way, escorting Liu Qingyang and Xu Lele's car directly to the entrance of the courtyard in the northeast corner.

"You all go, don't look!" Xu Lele waved her hand, ordering the security guards to disperse.

The security guards were eager to escape and scattered like birds and beasts.

Shang Muchen looked curiously at the equipment inside the truck. It was something like a portable lawnmower, with the main body of the machine carried on his back with straps, and he was holding something that looked like a large searchlight in his hand.

"Why does this thing look so much like a vacuum cleaner, a snow blower, or a lawnmower? Are you trying to suck up mice?" Shang Muchen asked curiously.

"You're right, this is 'Rat Exterminator No. 1,' which is a modified snow blower," Xu Lele said as she helped Liu Qingyang carry it on her back. "However, it's much more powerful than a snow blower."

"Is it heavy? Shall I carry it?" Shang Muchen asked.

"It's okay if you don't know how to use it. When I was in the army, I carried a machine gun and ran five kilometers. This is nothing." Liu Qingyang smiled smugly.

"You're really great," Shang Muchen praised sincerely.

Unlocking the courtyard gate and pulling open the large iron gate, a pungent, musty smell wafted out.

"Wow!" Xu Lele exclaimed in surprise, "Has no one lived here in ages? What's with this smell?!"

"This place would be perfect for converting into a live-action CS arena," Liu Qingyang said with a smile, pointing to the rooftop of the low building across the yard. "Give me a machine gun, and I can hold this fortress!"

"Alright, girl, let's play something girls should do," Xu Lele complained. "Come on, you turn it on, I'll record the data."

"Power on, enter standby mode." As Liu Qingyang pressed the switch, Shang Muchen saw a beam of light emerge from the large, cannon-like tube in her hand.

"How stable is it?" Liu Qingyang asked.

"It's alright, it's within range," Xu Lele replied, tapping on her tablet. "Just move a little slower and stay steady. The irradiation effect should be better than in the lab."

"Why is it better than in the lab?" Shang Muchen asked blankly.

"The feng shui here is great!" Xu Lele teased deliberately.

"What a brain!" Shang Muchen muttered helplessly.

The three men stepped into the courtyard and walked around it, but did not find any rats. They then went into the two-story office building on the left, but still did not find any rats.

The mice seemed to be avoiding the three of them, circling around without finding a single one.

Even after the three of them arrived at the Special Treatment Clinic and searched up and down the floors for a long time, they found nothing.

Finally, looking at the dark stairwell leading to the basement of the Special Treatment Clinic, Shang Muchen asked weakly, "Should we go down and take a look?"

"Let's go!" Xu Lele said nonchalantly, and Liu Qingyang also acted in a grand manner. With the two girls making such a fuss, Shang Muchen seemed timid in comparison.

Left with no other choice, Shang Muchen mustered his courage and went downstairs first.

Fortunately, after walking a few steps, he found an electrical control box. After fiddling with it for a while, Shang Muchen turned on the lights in the basement corridor.

With light, things are much better. Although the air is still somewhat polluted, I feel much more at ease under the light.

After walking only a few steps on the basement level, Shang Muchen was stopped by a locked iron gate.

"There's no way out, let's go back," Shang Muchen said helplessly.

"Hey, how can you be so stupid? Let's open the door and go in! The rats will definitely hide in dark places!" Xu Lele said.

"A mouse ball that big couldn't possibly fit through this door," Shang Muchen gestured, explaining.

"Besides, there's a reason why a door is locked. I think it's best not to open it rashly, and I don't have the key to this door either."

"Since you're already here," Liu Qingyang said, "move aside."

Shang Muchen didn't understand what she was going to do, so he hid to the side. Suddenly, Liu Qingyang kicked him in the face, and with a loud bang, she actually kicked open the entire iron gate.

Liu Qingyang's movements startled something in the shadows, and a dark shadow suddenly fled from the gate into the darkness.

"There's something here!" Xu Lele shouted excitedly.
