Lu Mingfei, become the king of gambling in dungeons!
Chapter 68 The Bells of Tokyo
On the opposite bank of the river lies a vast, verdant meadow. It's hard to imagine that such a wide area exists in the valley after the fog has lifted, with yellow flowers blooming among the grass.
The girls chased and played in this painting of gold and green, their white dresses billowing in the wind, their wide sleeves unable to conceal the rhythm of their youth.
Their hair shone like gold in the sunlight, so clean it was spotless, and their skin was fair and beautiful... Lu Mingfei found that their white skin reminded him of the vampire brides in the movie "Van Helsing".
Unlike the white skin of the girl named Zero who came to the Children's Palace to practice swordsmanship, which was a healthy yet cool color, the girls in front of me gave off a "dead feeling".
However, since it can move around in the sunlight, it's definitely not a vampire.
A young girl saw Lu Mingfei and exclaimed excitedly, "The wedding is about to begin! The groom is here! The groom is here!"
They all walked towards Lu Mingfei and Lu Mingze, some of them not so ladylike as to lift their skirts and run excitedly. They surrounded Lu Mingfei and greeted him, speaking in a language he had never encountered before. All the girls danced around him, except for one who remained quietly deep in the mist.
These girls are more like fairies of Avalon than vampires. When they saw young King Arthur approaching, they quickly came to pay their respects and present him with the sword Excalibur.
What's even stranger is that Lu Mingfei could actually understand what they were saying. They were all giving him warm blessings and performing a cheek kiss, a custom that dates back to ancient Rome. After their faces were close to Lu Mingfei, they would sniff him lightly, as if they were old friends who had been separated for a long time... and they even needed to confirm the scent like dogs.
Lu Mingfei twitched his nose. He could only smell a bright fragrance, as if he were in a flower garden in the early morning. There was no other scent in the air.
Lu Mingze was left out in the cold. The girls passed by him and only greeted him briefly, which he was happy to accept, and he grinned at Lu Mingfei with a teasing smile.
"What's going on? If you want to play role-playing games, you have to pay me an appearance fee?" Lu Mingfei carefully scanned each girl's face, trying to recall something.
He suddenly remembered that he had actually heard a similar language before.
Erii had said something similar not long ago. It was an unfamiliar language, yet I could understand it. It was... Dragon script.
These girls may all be dragons, or dragons' maids.
The girls suddenly scattered, as if they were going to get something.
"Groom, do you want to change your clothes again? I got the wrong outfit for you. You look more like a guest now. Your face is presentable, but your demeanor is like that of a bandit!" Lu Mingze produced a suit and leather shoes from somewhere. In his dream, he was omnipotent.
"A custom-made Prada suit, Hermes shoes... I can even lend you an Omega watch." Lu Mingze took off his rose gold watch and pointed to the girls who were running back again. "Or maybe add a 'military uniform' to make you look dashing."
The girls were not holding the King's Sword Excalibur, but rather scarlet ribbons and belts woven from laurel branches, with gold and silver medals pinned to them. Lu Mingze was absolutely right; if worn, these would indeed make their original clothes look like dashing military uniforms, almost like a general's uniform.
"I don't recognize any of those brands you mentioned. Next time, remember to clearly label them and give me a financial shock. I'm quite comfortable in this outfit... Also, you really are 'short on funds.'" Taking the laurel branch-woven belt and playing with it, Lu Mingfei didn't pay much attention to the girls who were trying to curry favor with him.
He tossed aside his tuxedo and nimbly dodged the girls' "encirclement" in his white shirt. His speed and reflexes were unmatched by the girls... even though they were faster than Caesar Chu Zihang when they ran.
The wind picked up, and Lu Mingfei followed the call in his heart, crossing the meadow and arriving deep into the mist.
The thick fog slowly drifted away along the girl's dress, her dark red hair billowing in the wind, and her white wedding gown also billowing in the wind, revealing the girl's straight and slender legs.
The girl wore white high-heeled sheepskin ankle boots with gold chains around her ankles, the bells jingling in the wind. She seemed to be trapped here as a bride.
"Eri?" Lu Mingfei asked, trying to confirm.
The next second, he heard an almost eerie cheer from the crowd, and girls and a wedding procession appeared out of thin air around him, just like NPCs that would spawn regularly in a game scene.
The groom has found his bride, and the remaining girls have become bridesmaids. The much-anticipated wedding is about to take place.
Lu Mingfei held the eight-sided Han sword "Pride". Since he got the "Seven Deadly Sins" sword, he hadn't really wanted to use "Wrath" and "Lust". He found "Pride" to be strangely smooth to use, probably because it was close to his personality.
He is essentially a person who is both insecure and somewhat arrogant. Now, his insecurity has decreased, while his arrogance has increased.
With each step he took forward, the people around him would step back with smiles on their faces. They surrounded him, all looking at him and laughing. He was caught in the crowd of people who came to offer their blessings, but it felt more like he was surrounded by resentful ghosts and spirits of the dead.
"Lu Mingze? Are these your employees? Didn't I kill them?" He was a little surprised.
Lu Mingze was chatting and laughing with the slender young bridesmaids. For some reason, he approached the tallest of the bridesmaids, whose height only reached her fair collarbone.
At this moment, Lu Mingze was riding high, seemingly having forgotten his brother and all his friends.
"Friend, are you looking for a godmother?" Lu Mingfei sighed after making a sarcastic remark, deciding not to disturb his brother's happiness. If these people were ghosts, then the bridesmaids would be a good match for Lu Mingze.
The fog began to dissipate, and buildings appeared around the meadow. This was an ancient city, at least as old as Pompeii, which was buried by volcanic ash.
A square altar appeared in front of Lu Mingfei.
On the altar lay a Holy Gospel, a glass of red wine, two wedding crowns, and two unlit candles. The pastor, with a smile, placed a gold wedding ring and a silver wedding ring at opposite ends of the altar, and had Lu Mingfei and the girl who looked like Erii stand at either end.
The music subsided temporarily, and the pastor made the sign of the cross above the heads of the bride and groom. He then lit the candles and prepared to hand one to each of Lu Mingfei and Erii.
"Don't steal my spotlight! Extras, go eat your boxed lunches." Lu Mingze abandoned the charming bridesmaid, arrogantly took off his dress, walked to the altar, tripped the priest with his foot, and then kicked the priest's butt twice.
"The groom's top lackey should be the one to officiate the wedding." He pulled out a bottle of hairspray.
Then he tore off the pure white priest's robe from the pitiful priest and put it on himself, like a devil from hell tearing off the wings of an angel and decorating himself.
After donning the silver cross, he twirled around Lu Mingfei twice in a showy manner, then buried his head in his hair gel. When he looked up, he had changed his expression, becoming even more solemn and professional than the Orthodox priest from before.
He gets into character very quickly.
"In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, Amen," the devil proclaimed in a booming voice.
No one followed along, and the audience whispered amongst themselves. The joyful atmosphere of the wedding had vanished, replaced by a hesitant look at the uncertainties that had befallen the couple. Then, the ill-tempered devil swept his gaze around with a disdainful expression.
The assistant pastor beside the altar trembled as he said, "Your Majesty, please bless us."
The priest said in a trembling voice, "Praise be to our God, from this day forth and forevermore, through all ages."
The girls and musicians cried out in unison in fear, "Amen."
The assistant pastor said, "Let us pray to the Lord in peace."
They all said in unison, "Lord, have mercy on us."
Everyone was like a wound-up machine, forced to go through the process.
