Why is his holy light red?

Is Chapter 79 really the end?
Mercury never really felt that it was that dangerous.
Because he still has a trump card in his hand that can turn the tide of the battle; it's an absolute game-changer.
Aside from being prone to getting out of control, it has no other side effects.
But Mercury was absolutely certain that if he ever showed any signs of going berserk, the high and mighty "Angel of Light" would arrive immediately. With this layer of protection, it was as if there were absolutely no side effects.
As for whether that domineering golden holy light can tear apart this so-called deathmatch tent?
Mercury was at least 90% certain.
That was the most powerful force in the world. Back then, the Black Moon Circus had to flee in panic before the Holy Light Angels arrived. Clearly, even the authentic tent that covered the sky couldn't withstand that force.
Since that's the case, let's finish it off with one strike.
Just as Mercury took a deep breath, preparing to completely release the suppression of the golden holy light within his body, without any warning, a cloud of blood mist suddenly burst from the clown's right shoulder outside the tent.
The arm that was pressed against the projection screen was torn apart and severed by the immense kinetic energy, flying several meters away with ghastly white bone fragments.
The moment physical contact was lost, the seemingly indestructible semi-transparent tent collapsed and vanished instantly, like a projection of a power outage.
Only then did a muffled gunshot pierce the night sky, belatedly reaching their ears.
Mercury didn't care where the bullets came from. Dark red holy light instantly filled his legs, and he lunged forward, reaching the one-armed clown in the blink of an eye, his arm tightening around the clown's neck like an iron band.
Using this posture to subdue the monster, even if the clown can still summon tent projections, Mercury can ensure that he can break his neck in time.
But he was clearly being overly cautious.
The monster, having lost half its shoulder, was too weak to even struggle; its head slumped limply to one side like a tattered sack. Mercury, his face cold, shook the head, and after confirming that all functions had ceased, ripped off the pale mask.
Beneath the mask remained the same horrifying face, seemingly churned out of an industrial assembly line—three perfectly round black holes from which a pungent, reddish-white viscous liquid continuously oozed.
"It seems I arrived at a pretty good time."
A casual joke drifted on the night breeze. Mercury looked up at the sound and saw Nora walking slowly towards him from the shadows at the street corner, carrying a heavy anti-materiel sniper rifle.
"Nora?!" Rex's eyes widened, blue static electricity still flaring in his hair. "Didn't you say you absolutely wouldn't get involved in tonight's operation?"
Nora sighed, casually slamming the butt of her heavy sniper rifle onto the asphalt with a dull thud. "I was planning to play dead. But you two just didn't seem very reliable. If you could have cleaned this up yourselves, I wouldn't have had to wade into this mess in the middle of the night. Well, now I guess I'm on Yong Sheng Technology's blacklist too."
Mercury frowned slightly and asked another crucial question: "You haven't obtained authorization from the bureau, aren't you afraid—"
This is completely out of character for Nora. She's always been shrewd and knows her limits; getting involved in trouble of this magnitude without authorization could ruin her life if things get out of control.
Nora pursed her lips: "Don't worry, I wouldn't break the rules for the two of you. Before coming here, I got authorization from Magic Eye Man, but it's only valid for tonight."
Mercury and Rex were immediately shocked.
All told, these interns had only been under Magic Eye's wing for a week, a mere casual acquaintance, with no real mentor-student relationship to speak of. That authorization was definitely not a disclaimer; if Nora messed things up, or even just got injured, Magic Eye's hero rating would plummet. Although he knew Nora had recently been learning to use a gun from him, this treatment was still far too good.
"Alright, this isn't the time for idle chatter." Nora interrupted Mercury's thoughts, her gaze sweeping over the limbs and charred streets. "Are all the Ogres dead? Not a single one left alive? Does that mean we've wasted our time tonight, without even getting any substantial evidence?"
"Not necessarily." Mercury released the corpse's neck, stood up, and clapped his hands.
Rex scratched his head, looking bewildered. "But wasn't our original plan to capture the higher-ups of the Ogre Gang and extract concrete evidence of their illicit drug dealing?"
"We don't have concrete evidence, but we have a confession." Mercury looked at the monster's corpse on the ground, his face expressionless and his eyes unblinking. "Just now, this monster confessed before it died that they were cleaners sent by Immortal Technology. Their sole purpose was to kill us to silence us and prevent us from investigating their illegal experiments involving prohibited drugs."
Rex's brain clearly froze. He stared blankly for two seconds, his face a picture of utter disbelief: "Huh? This monster spoke? I didn't hear a single word—"
"Because he was critically injured and near death, his voice was extremely weak." Mercury's tone was completely flat. "I was choking him tightly at the time. In order to survive, he revealed all the secrets of the immortality technology. Unfortunately, his injuries were too severe, and he died after he finished speaking."
"No—" Rex stared at the face with only three holes, then retorted, "This thing is full of plastic skeletons and chemicals. It's not even human, and it's afraid of dying?"
Before he could finish speaking, there was a muffled "bang".
Nora had already kicked Rex in the shin.
The excruciating pain finally jolted Rex's sluggish nerves. He gasped, clutching his calf and nodding frantically, "Yes, yes, that's right! I remember now, I heard it too! The monster was crying and shouting that it was orchestrated by the immortality technology!"
Mercury smiled slightly, turned around, and kicked the psychic messenger who was still twitching unconsciously: "Plus this escaped convict, who was rescued by the immortality technology, who was intended to use him to kill someone and then silence him. So, he is a ready-made witness."
Although the unfortunate fellow was nearly killed by Rex's high-voltage electricity, he was still alive.
Even if this witness testimony and "confession" may not be enough to completely convict Yong Sheng Technology, it at least gives them a reason to knock on the door and enter to investigate.
Sometimes, a legitimate and compliant reason is enough.
Although he had obtained the "confession" he wanted, Mercury's gaze swept over the two inhuman remains on the ground, and he still had another question in his mind: Were these monsters really a team sent directly by the Immortal Technology to silence them?
Logically, it doesn't make sense.
If Immortal Technology only wanted to physically eliminate the Cannibal Gang, these two clowns, capable of releasing Deathmatch Tents and Mental Pollution, could wipe the entire gang out with their eyes closed. Their deliberate trip to the prison to bail out the useless Psychic to act as a guide was utterly pointless, needlessly increasing their risk of exposure.
Unless—this "Black Moon Circus" is merely associated with Eternal Life Technology, and not truly their loyal force. Tonight's grand spectacle of murder and cover-up likely hides other schemes behind it all.
Mercury shook his head, forcibly shutting out his wandering thoughts. If he couldn't figure it out, he wouldn't think about it. These troublesome conspiracy theories were for the high-paid big shots in the association to worry about.
More than any conspiracy, all he could think about was how many real points he could gain from tonight's tough battle. The mutant Hannibal was dead, the escaped fugitive Psychic had been captured alive, and he'd also casually killed two members of the "Black Moon Circus"—the numbers in his mind were growing bigger and bigger, and Mercury felt even the bloody wind blowing through Elm Street was incredibly comforting.
"Alright, that's enough for now. Quickly call the association's logistics department to come and clean up the floor."
Mercury dusted off his hands and was about to take out his phone when a strange sound suddenly entered his ears.
The sound was extremely unsettling. The low, labored breathing was mixed with a sickeningly loud "smacking" sound, like some kind of wild beast with an incredible bite force chewing up bloody cartilage.
Mercury paused, and Nora and Rex, who were not far away, tensed their muscles at the same time.
The three of them simultaneously locked their gazes on the source of the sound—an old apartment building whose walls had been partially destroyed by the aftershocks of the earlier battle.
The broken load-bearing walls completely exposed the interior of the apartment to the dim, flickering streetlights. The three of them crept closer, stepping over the rubble, and gasped in shock the moment they saw what was inside.
In mid-air, an elderly man with a full head of gray hair was eerily suspended in a posture that defied gravity.
The old man's clothes were completely soaked in blood, sticking to his body stickily.
There was nothing in the air, yet the flesh on the old man's right arm was visibly disappearing, as if an unseen beast was cruelly tearing at him. Thick blood splattered onto the floor, and in just a few seconds, half of his arm had been gnawed away, leaving only pale bone fragments.
What's even more chilling is that, despite enduring this excruciating pain akin to being slowly sliced to death, the old man kept his eyes tightly shut, his brows furrowed in agony, and he couldn't utter a sound, as if he were trapped in a nightmare from which he could never awaken.
"A cannibalistic nightmare?!"
Mercury exclaimed in shock.
