Why is his holy light red?
Chapter 75 A Familiar Scene
Chapter 75 A Familiar Scene
The semi-transparent circus tent looked like a layer of smoke that could be blown away by the wind at any moment, yet it tightly trapped the rampaging Hannibal and the psychic inside.
Two clowns in comical costumes stood swaggering on top of the tent, looking down at the desperate struggle inside, completely disregarding the life or death of the Radiant Messenger.
The Radiant Messenger never expected to be betrayed by his own people.
He raised his head and cursed at the two people at the top, his hands flying wildly as he summoned giant purple beasts that crashed into the illusory curtain, but it was all in vain.
No matter how frantically those energy behemoths charged, the seemingly fragile layer of blue smoke didn't even ripple.
Hannibal roared furiously, brandishing his fan-like claws and tearing at the inner wall of the tent. With a teeth-grinding scraping sound, the sharp claws seemed to have dug into a solid titanium alloy plate, leaving not even a white mark.
The psychic turned abruptly and roared at Hannibal, "Stop! Let's work together to blast this thing away!"
However, no sooner had he finished speaking than the illusory tent suddenly shrank inward. The invisible wall pushed the two of them, causing them to stumble a few steps and abruptly closing the distance between them.
The clown at the top let out a chilling chuckle: "Trying to betray us so quickly? Too bad, this tent is a space where one person has to die to get out. As long as you two are alive, it will keep shrinking until it squeezes you both, skin and bones, into a puddle of minced meat."
Accompanied by the clown's morbid laughter, the surrounding walls of blue smoke began to slowly and visibly move inward, gradually squeezing out the two people's remaining space to survive.
Hannibal continued his relentless hacking at the light barrier, defiantly, but the Radiant One had stopped. Even though just three seconds ago he was calling for an alliance, now he showed no hesitation and launched another attack on Hannibal.
A dark purple light erupted like a burst dam, and several enormous purple rhinoceroses materialized out of thin air, heads bowed, and slammed into Hannibal's back with overwhelming force.
Caught completely off guard, Hannibal's massive body was struck squarely by the charging rhinoceros herd, and with a muffled thud, he was pinned against the inner wall of the transparent tent.
The relentless, heavy impacts seemed intent on crushing him into a pulp.
But the pain only fueled the lizard monster's ferocity.
Hannibal whirled around, his massive arms forcefully shoving the purple rhinoceros in front of him to the ground. He unleashed his long, forked, scarlet tongue, staring intently at the psychic messenger, and scoffed, "I remember who you are! You're that piece of trash who got beaten up by that brat a while back!"
These words were like a resounding slap in the face, driving the psychic messenger completely insane.
His eyes twitched wildly as he frantically channeled his supernatural power. Endless purple light transformed into a raging tsunami of beasts, with hundreds upon hundreds of energy monsters launching suicidal charges against Hannibal.
In this increasingly confined space, dodging has become a luxury. Both sides can only resort to the most primitive method: head-on confrontation.
Hannibal was instantly engulfed by the purple horde of beasts. He frantically swung his claws, tearing the attacking beasts to shreds one by one. But the torrent seemed endless, and the relentless onslaught left him overwhelmed.
But after only a few seconds of endurance, Hannibal realized something was wrong. These seemingly powerful energy beasts, crashing down on his thick, bluish-green scales, couldn't even break through his defenses! Aside from slowing him down with their sheer numbers and momentum, they caused virtually no real damage.
Having seen through the paper tiger's true nature, Hannibal simply abandoned his defenses. He raised his thick left arm to shield his eyes, letting the crows and cheetahs conjured by purple light tear at his body. He strode forward, like a heavy tank, traversing the horde of beasts, and charged straight at the Messenger of Light.
The Radiant Messenger was completely panicked.
How come this monster is just as eerie as that little devil from the other day?! I unleashed my full power in an attack, yet it didn't even leave a scratch.
Is a tenfold dose of the mutation agent really that powerful? Or is this guy's constitution abnormal?
As the colossal creature, over three meters tall, defied the beast tide and approached him step by step, the Spirit Messenger broke out in a cold sweat.
With death looming, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and frantically pull a syringe from his pocket.
Inside the glass tube, a pink potion with an eerie fluorescent glow was gently swaying.
This was what the two clowns slipped into his hand as he left the hard labor prison. They said mysteriously, "This is your last chance."
The Radiant One tilted his head back, staring intently at the two clowns standing atop the tent, watching coldly. Then, he gritted his teeth, made a snap decision, and plunged the syringe into a vein in his forearm, injecting all the pink liquid into his body.
Almost instantly upon insertion, an eerie pink glow emanated from his veins, spreading rapidly throughout his body like glowing meridians in an extremely violent manner.
"ah-!"
The Radiant Messenger let out an extremely shrill, inhuman scream.
But in the midst of extreme pain, the purple spiritual light that had been suppressed around him did not dissipate. Instead, it burst forth with a blinding and dazzling light, like a raging fire doused with gasoline.
The light was as bright as a supernova explosion, forcing the charging Hannibal to raise his thick arm to shield his eyes, lest his eyeballs be burned out.
However, in the half-second that the purple light dimmed slightly, Hannibal felt a tearing pain in his arm!
He suddenly opened his eyes and was horrified to find that a Tyrannosaurus Rex formed from solidified purple light was biting his left arm tightly. "Crack—crack—"
The thick, bluish-green scales that even armor-piercing bullets couldn't penetrate shattered like broken glass under the crushing force of the energy tyrannosaurus's sharp teeth, and dark red blood gushed from the wounds.
The excruciating pain was driving Hannibal crazy, and his eyes were filled with shock, as if he couldn't believe what was happening.
This is impossible! He's the chosen one, favored by God, who withstood ten times the dose of mutation medicine! How could he be broken through by this piece of trash who can't even beat a little kid?!
In utter shock, Hannibal turned to look in the direction of the psychic, but what he saw sent chills down his spine.
At this moment, the Radiant Messenger's face was covered with spiderweb-like cracks of pink light. He looked as if his entire skeleton had been completely shattered by violent energy, and these eerie pink substances were merely holding the broken flesh and bones together, making him look even more terrifying than his lizard monster form.
But no matter how strange the psychic's state was, the energy behemoth he summoned was dozens of times stronger, completely tearing apart Hannibal's proud defenses.
"Hahahaha!"
The Radiant One laughed maniacally. Although his head was throbbing as if a thousand hacksaws were churning inside his brain, a morbid pleasure instantly overwhelmed him as he watched the thick-skinned idiot finally bleed and scream in front of him.
What kind of bullshit invincible defense is this?! What kind of absolute power dominance is this?!
You all, die!
"Tear him apart!" the Radiant Messenger roared hoarsely, pointing at the giant lizard in front of him.
With his roar, purple light exploded again in the void, and a second, even larger Tyrannosaurus Rex leaped out of thin air, opened its blood-red maw, and bit down hard on Hannibal's thick legs.
The two energy behemoths, each the size of a heavy truck, thrashed their heads wildly, producing a chilling sound of flesh and bone tearing apart.
Amid Hannibal's agonizing and desperate screams, he bit down on the upper limbs with one end and the lower body with the other, tearing the massive, three-meter-tall lizard in two from the waist!
The foul-smelling blood rained down inside the enclosed tent, mixed with bits of flesh and entrails.
This self-proclaimed "lucky one favored by God" met a tragic end, dying a mangled death amidst a rain of blood.
As Hannibal's massive body was torn in two, the semi-transparent tent overhead vanished in the wind. It seemed the two madmen hadn't lied—one of them was dead, and the game was over.
"Clap, clap, clap." The crisp, slow clapping sound rang out on the blood-soaked street.
The two clowns in their flashy costumes landed gracefully from mid-air, as if applauding the Radiant Messenger's performance.
The Radiant Messenger was breathing heavily, and the pink bands of light on his face, like chasms, convulsed with his maniacal laughter.
He stared intently at his hands, feeling the terrifying, violent power surging within him—the Black Moon Circus hadn't lied to him after all; the potion's power was truly astonishing!
However, before his maniacal laughter had subsided, one of the clowns suddenly turned his head and looked at the other end of Elm Street, which was swallowed by darkness.
"Oh, it seems our 'hero' has finally arrived."
As soon as the words were spoken, a faint, dark red light pierced the night from the dark street corner. Accompanied by steady footsteps, the figure enveloped in the red light rapidly approached.
When he saw the almost tangible red aura, the muscles at the corner of the psychic's eye twitched violently, and he forced out the name through clenched teeth: "Mercury Anderson!"
The clown next to him shrugged casually, "That's a wrap. Now that the dirty work is done, there's no need to waste any more time with the association's interns. Let's go."
"No!" The Spirit Messenger whirled around, his eyes bloodshot with extreme resentment. "At least let me kill him first!"
No one hated this brat more than him. If it weren't for that crushing defeat at the airport that day, he would still be a glamorous star hero in the uptown district. How could he have ended up in a hard labor prison, being treated like a dog and bossed around?
He's going to get back what he was humiliated with, with interest!
Ignoring his companions' pleas, the Radiant Messenger let out a superhuman roar. A brilliant purple light erupted in the void as the two energy dragons that had just torn Hannibal apart abruptly turned their ferocious heads around, like an aircraft carrier turning around, and charged towards Mercury with their powerful hind legs crushing the asphalt.
They opened their gaping maws, filled with sharp, energy-filled teeth, and unleashed a suffocating gale, determined to utterly crush the red light.
However, just as the giant jaws were about to snap shut, the red light suddenly transformed into a long red line.
Mercury leaped into the air at an incredible speed.
He twisted his torso with powerful movements, his right fist clenched tightly. The dark red holy light wrapped around his arm surged instantly, dazzling like a miniature red sun.
He threw a punch.
"Boom!" Pure superhuman strength created a deafening sonic boom in the air, and the fist, wrapped in red holy light, smashed into the eye socket of a Tyrannosaurus Rex.
The devastating impact encountered no resistance whatsoever, blasting the Tyrannosaurus Rex's head into countless purple fragments of light.
The terrifying kinetic energy continued unabated, not only propelling the massive headless corpse backward in a frenzied flight, but also knocking away the Tyrannosaurus Rex that was charging up behind it.
Two enormous objects crashed into an apartment building, sending dust flying everywhere.
The Spirit Messenger stared in disbelief at the scene before him—how could it be so familiar?
