Chapter 16 Raven Emblem
Lorraine first removed the leather armor from his body.
The leather armor had been hammered too many times by his burning hands and was beyond repair, so it had to be left aside.
He then pulled a gold coin and seven silver coins from Soren's pocket, and now he finally understood why the other man had attacked him.
That's incredibly poor.
Lorraine now possesses a staggering 8 gold, 19 silver, and 7 copper coins, along with a vast collection of scrap metal, marking the pinnacle of his wealth.
He picked up the sword that Sauron had dropped on the ground and examined it carefully.

......
"This sword is nowhere near as good as Rustthroat. Let's go back and sell it. A dwarf-made one would probably be worth a lot of money."
Lorraine slung the one-handed sword behind his back and then began searching.
A bow about the same size as a young man's.
A jumble of miscellaneous items.
Huh, what's this?
Lorraine pulled a metal piece from his jacket pocket.
It was a dark silver metal emblem, about half the size of a palm, with slightly worn edges.
The central relief depicts a raven with outstretched wings, its eyes inlaid with two small obsidian stones, and its claws clutching a broken sword.
Lorraine looked at it closely.
【Raven Emblem】
Type: Magical Accessory
Quality: Rare (Green)
Weight: 0.6KG
Remark:
"Wherever the raven flies, that is the king's land."
......
"Huh? Magical accessories don't have any special equipment effects?"
Lorraine stroked the badge with a puzzled look, but didn't feel any magical fluctuations or any strange sensations.
"Such excellent quality, this shouldn't be happening."
His only high-quality magical item was the Ring of the Burner, which he obtained by sheer luck. If he were willing to sell it, it would be worth at least two or three hundred gold coins.
"Could it be the key to the entrance to some secret realm?" Lorraine thought of classic plots from certain novels.
Unable to figure it out in a short time, he could only stuff the badge into his backpack.
"Looks like that's all for now."
Lorraine tidied herself up.
He now has a longsword, Rusty Throat, at his waist, a backpack full of odds and ends on his back, along with two bows and a one-handed sword.
"Hiss...it's actually quite heavy."
Lorraine is an expert in carrying heavy loads, but even so, walking is very difficult for her, and it also aggravates her wounds.
"A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step..."
He comforted himself.
......
"Hiss...ha..."
In the early morning outside the town of Qiantan, a thin layer of frost had formed on the gravel road, which had melted a little under the sun, making it easy to slip and fall.
Lorraine could only walk on the open ground beside the road.
"It's so cold. The leather armor isn't warm enough. I need to buy some thicker clothes." He rubbed his hands together.
Because of his injuries, the journey there, which should have taken only a day, took him three whole days to return.
Fortunately, they had bought a lot of dry food before setting off, and Soren and his companion had some with them as well, which was just enough to eat.
After three days of treatment, the chest injury has basically healed, but I still experience some chest tightness if I run vigorously.
As for why we need to run so intensely...
He encountered a pack of wolves halfway there, who followed him for a full day and night, preventing him from sleeping and forcing him to keep going with his head covered.
Perhaps realizing he was not someone to be trifled with, he did not attack him, and thus managed to return safely.
Carrying a large load of things, Lorraine entered the town feeling quite tired. Every passerby turned around and stopped to stare at him.
He knew his attire was too flashy, so he quickened his pace and headed straight for the blacksmith's shop.
"Boss, do you buy things here?"
Lorraine threw all the junk out of her bag.
Bald Horton stared wide-eyed at the pile of things on the table, gasped, and exclaimed, "Where did you get all this stuff from?"
"And this sword needs further sharpening."
Lorraine said irritably.
"Okay, put it there." Horton nodded and began inspecting Lorraine's spoils.
He raised the one-handed sword, squinted and examined the blade carefully, then flicked the edge with his finger, producing a crisp humming sound;
"A one-handed sword made of gray steel? The forging quality is quite good, it's worth some money, 10 gold coins."
He then picked up the short bows on the table one by one, pulled them hard, and checked their condition.
"Two ash wood bows, ox horn tips, hemp rope bowstrings. Hmm... this bow arm is a bit cracked and needs repair. Package price: 1 gold and 15 silver."
Then he pointed to the messy clutter on the table;
"We won't take this junk. You can sell it to the general store."
Lorraine raised an eyebrow and asked, "So cheap?"
Keep in mind that a regular iron longsword costs 10-15 gold coins, so this one, forged by the dwarves from gray steel, must cost at least double that.
"This is second-hand equipment! I still have to bear the risks of buying and selling it. Take it or leave it." Horton tapped the table.
"Okay, okay, okay."
"snort."
Horton rummaged behind the table for a moment, took out some coins, handed them to Lorraine, and said, "Consider this sword-sharpening a gift."
"Then please sharpen these two as well, thank you!"
Two daggers were also placed on the table.
"You...get out of here!"
"Okay, okay."
Lorraine left the blacksmith shop with a big smile on his face. He now had a full 20 gold, 14 silver and 7 copper, and only a few days had passed!
"It's true that you reap what you sow."
He sighed.
"Remember to come pick up your sword tomorrow!"
The boss's voice came from behind.
"OK!"
Lorraine smiled and waved her hand.
......
After dealing with his belongings, he returned to the Adventurers' Guild in Shallow Beach Town, which was also the tavern.
"Is it all done?"
The tavern owner saw him come in and casually asked.
"You guys almost screwed me over. A glass of ice-cold malt beer and a bowl of stew." Lorraine rolled her eyes.
"How so?" the boss asked curiously.
"Hiss... Whew... That mission has been hanging there for over ten days. It said there were only seven or eight rats, but when I got there I found a whole nest of them."
Lorraine took a swig of ice-cold beer, her eyes squinting with enjoyment.
The tavern owner wiped the water droplets off the bar and laughed heartily, "Young man, adventure is always full of surprises, and that's what makes it so interesting!"
That's true.
"No, it's because you didn't tell me when this task was released!"
Lorraine roared.
"Haha!" The boss chuckled and continued, "That was a task he posted himself. The guild won't get too involved, but it's also partly my fault. This drink is on you."
"That's more like it. By the way, I still don't know your name."
Lorraine pursed her lips.
"Just call me Haifu."
Seeing that he didn't pursue the matter, the tavern owner, Haifu, casually praised him:
"Not bad, kid. You can handle so many monsters all by yourself. Are you almost a professional?"
