Chapter 96 The Greedy Fairy
Looking at the magnificent sword, Xavier suddenly had a thought.
When he has time, he plans to combine alchemy, modern casting techniques, and the forging skills of fairies to create a weapon that is uniquely his own.
Of course, he's still too young to wield a greatsword.
But you can forge a small sword first.
Like Arya's Needle in Game of Thrones or Bilbo's Spiked Sword in The Lord of the Rings, it is small and portable, not much longer than a wand, which is perfect for him to use now.
When they grow up, they can have a suit of armor and a greatsword made.
It includes commonly used protective magic spells found on magic robes, capable of blocking both physical attacks and defending against spells.
With his physical abilities, wielding a greatsword with one hand would be no problem at all; he could even do a beautiful sword flourish with just two fingers, like the Bretons in the Elder Scrolls 0L trailer.
Magic is my talent.
Melee combat is my favorite.
Xavier frowned slightly at the thought of fairies.
Although he didn't particularly like fairies, he never understood the Ministry of Magic's logic in dealing with the fairy issue.
Because the economic power of the entire wizarding world is firmly in the hands of fairies.
Their racial culture is completely different from that of humans.
In the minds of fairies, the true owner of an item is always its creator. Human society, however, believes that once a transaction is completed, the item belongs to the buyer.
Every Galleon from Gringotts was forged by them.
Therefore, the fairies believed that all wizards who used Galleons were thieves, stealing their Galleons.
Even when Nicolas Flamel passed away, the fairies were secretly delighted because the Philosopher's Stone could turn stones into gold, which would directly affect the fairies' wealth.
That is why they believe that the sword of Gryffindor should be returned to the goblins after Gryffindor's death.
This deep-seated cognitive difference, like the so-called "Promised Land" of certain races, is fundamentally irreconcilable.
This historical disagreement has led to the persistent belief among the goblin community that "Gryffindor stole the sword."
This ownership dispute, which has lasted for centuries, is still ongoing today.
Xavier had no doubt that if the fairies had enough power, they would not hesitate to wage war between their races.
Dumbledore's gaze gently fell on Xavier, who was bent over calculating alchemical formulas, his eyes filled with a hint of inquiry.
This child is special.
Although some things seem like coincidences, they are also quite normal.
But he seems to know a lot of things. Could he be a prophet who has the ability to use his third eye to foresee the future?
He thought of one person: Gellert Grindelwald.
But Dumbledore did not ask further questions.
Everyone has their own secrets, and he trusts his students.
Except for Tom Riddle.
Dumbledore's gaze unconsciously fell on the bottom drawer of his desk.
Inside the drawer lay Tom Riddle's diary, which had been completely destroyed.
This was the first Horcrux he destroyed with his own hands.
At that moment, he felt little joy.
Because he knew that this was by no means the only one.
"Alright, that's all for today's lesson."
Dumbledore snapped out of his reverie, a gentle smile returning to his face. "Thank you for reminding me about house-elves, Mr. Xavier. It's very important."
"Alright, child, go back now. It's snowing so heavily, be careful not to catch a cold."
Dumbledore stood up and waved his hand, indicating that he could leave.
Xavier nodded, packed up his parchment and quill, and prepared to take his leave.
Just then, there was a knock on the office door.
"Please come in," Dumbledore replied.
Harry pushed open the door and walked in, then turned around and closed it. He looked somewhat surprised when he saw Xavier.
"Professor Dumbledore, I—"
Harry is there to tell the headmaster about Dobby, and the truth about Platform Nine and Three-Quarters being blocked and the Blinkball going out of control.
He now understood, just as Xavier had told him before: Don't hide things, especially from people you trust.
Before he could finish speaking, the door to the office behind Harry was casually pushed open.
Lucius Malfoy wore a well-tailored black velvet robe, held a cane inlaid with silver snake heads, maintained the arrogance of a school board member, and his long golden hair was neatly combed.
Behind him followed Dobby, trembling, his house-elf ears drooping, his ball-shaped eyes filled with terror.
It looks like Gollum from Lord of the Rings.
As a member of the Hogwarts Board of Trustees, he naturally had some authority to enter and exit the Headmaster's office.
"Dumbledore."
Lucius's voice carried a deliberate air of elegance and arrogance. "I wonder why you summoned me here."
"Dobby?!"
Harry gasped in surprise.
"You're a house-elf of the Malfoy family!"
Lucius looked down and saw Dobby's terrified expression. Enraged, he raised his hand and struck Dobby with his cane: "I'll punish you when we get back."
"Potter, get out of the way."
Lucius stepped forward, his gaze sweeping over Harry, his brow furrowing impatiently, and shoved him aside unceremoniously with his cane.
"Mr. Malfoy."
Dumbledore's voice was calm, but with an undeniable air of authority. "As a member of the school board, your first responsibility should be to care about the students of this school."
Lucius was displeased with Dumbledore's attitude: "Too presumptuous."
"My only concern will always be the interests of this school, and of course, my students."
As he spoke, his gaze swept over Harry and Xavier.
Lucius maintained his aristocratic demeanor, but he was more like a venomous snake poised to strike.
Dumbledore glanced at Xavier and Harry beside him, but did not tell them to leave.
"Voldemort is back."
Dumbledore's words caused Lucius's expression to change drastically.
"But this time, his trick was to infiltrate the school, manipulate others to make their moves, and he used his diary as a tool."
Dumbledore slowly took out the damaged diary from the drawer.
Xavier looked at Dumbledore and understood what Dumbledore meant.
This was the first time Dumbledore had explicitly mentioned Voldemort and his conspiracy in his presence.
This means that Xavier has been officially included in Dumbledore's plan to fight Voldemort.
As Harry Potter's helper.
A loyal, reliable, and powerful Hufflepuff.
The moment Lucius saw the diary, his expression changed drastically, but he still managed to maintain his composure: "I understand."
Dumbledore sat motionless in his chair, his tone calm yet each word carrying a warning: "Fortunately, my clever student saw through his plot."
Dumbledore's blue eyes behind his glasses stared at Lucius, a gaze that made Lucius feel extremely uncomfortable.
"We hope that no more of Voldemort's old things from his student days will fall into the hands of innocent people."
Dumbledore's tone left no room for doubt: "Otherwise, the perpetrators will face extremely serious consequences."
Xavier silently added in his mind: Otherwise, how about the Azkaban VIP room and the life imprisonment package?
"Great, I think so too."
Lucius stared intently at the diary, his face stiff. "I hope our savior—Mr. Potter—can always turn things around."
Light shone through the crack in the window onto Lucius's face. He turned and stared intently at Harry—he was convinced that Harry, who was close to the Weasleys, had discovered the secret of the diary.
